Note to self

When running bad don't:
A. Try to make moves on people who are running like god
B. Try to make moves on anyone, period.
-$330 @ NL50 today
+$850 on the month
Was so close to NL100 I could fucking taste it. This whole day was absolute garbage. From the moment I woke up I was disappointed with what I saw in the sky. Clouds. Clouds on my motherfucking day off.
Played about 5k hands today. First 3k was megarape of me (lost $300) and this second session has been break even for 2k hands.
Going to the gym tomorrow morning. Then going to work. Coming home from work. Having intense masturbation session. Playing poker. If I run bad: wash, rinse, repeat.
Cheers.
1st week of Feb
RICHI8, Feb 08 2009
The first week of February has gone great. I didn't get in as many as hands as I would have liked to, but the results have been good none the less. Every time I've been trying to get some hands in something always comes up. Like last night some friends from NY randomly took a road trip a couple weeks ago and were here in San Diego so I left my 500 hand session to go hang out with them.
Ideally, I'd like to get in 8k to 10k hands in since I do work full-time. This week I only got 5k in and I saw some of you beasts got in like 20k+. Nasty! This month has been an NL50 shot so far, which is going great. But anyway, on to my results, graph, and thoughts.
2/1: Didn't play
2/2: -$7.15
2/3: +$102.60
2/4: +141.60
2/5: +163.60
2/6: Didn't play
2/7: +119.65
Total profit: +$520.30

I'm definitely not running bad, but I'm not sure if I'm running good either. I had a couple sessions where I felt like I was getting pwned but still managed to pull some profit. It's definitely too early to tell whether I'm truly above the skill level of this stake. I do however feel like I'm playing excellent poker. Watching the vids on DC has helped a lot. I've really loosened up and I think it's really giving me great results in my big hands.
Regardless of my bankroll I don't plan on moving up to NL100 until I've put in 50k hands at this level. If I'm at 20 buy-ins for NL100 after 50k hands of NL50 then I will move up.
I'm going to get a session in right now for the 2nd week of February.
GL all.
blog work plz
RICHI8, Feb 06 2009
Haven't updated since the new month but I've been playing. Only logged about 4.5k hands this month so far. All of them have been at NL50. This shot is going well so far. I'm up 8 buy ins. It's kind of funny, the tables I've played on so far have felt fishier than the NL25 tables. There's all kinds of donaters and regs that just over play their hands.
A lot of my sessions have been very swingy and I have been coolered quite a few times but I'm still up so I am fairly certain I have a significant edge at these stakes. I'm starting to feel immune to money though so that's kind of cool. I just lose big pots and it phases me for a little bit, or doesn't phase me at all. I'm really trying to work on my anger control. I don't want to be some steaming tilt monkey. I'll never make it anywhere that way.
Anyway, I don't plan on being a massive blogger. I aim to only post blogs once a week with my daily results as well as maybe some questions I pose about certain hands or situations. I feel like if I make it a daily thing I'll just be another BBV kind of guy and that's not why I made this blog in the first place. I made it to get my thoughts out there and receive feed back. I'll try to get these blogs out every sunday.
A couple shout outs to some people:
- Big thanks to Maynard for helping me transfer my roll from FTP to PS.
- Thumbs up to Uptown to getting through NL25 and taking his first NL50.
- Major props to all the tournament players on this site destroying it lately!
- To NeillyAA for his sick work ethic and sticking to his plan. The results are starting to show!
That's all I have for now.
GL all.
still running bad

i aint even mad at cha
RICHI8, Jan 24 2009
Day 2 of god awful variance. I'm not even mad though because I feel like I played great. It's comforting to know this too. But I can't really be mad at anything.
I can't be mad at FTP because it's just a stack of servers.
I can't be mad at my dumb opponents because they are what makes me money (normally).
I can't be mad at myself because I played extremely well.
Today was a lot like yesterday and I wish I could post the same graph, however, I can't because yesterday I got back to even, where as today I lost a little over 4bis. I'm debating taking a couple days off, even though I'm playing very good. I'm hoping that the variance will just disappear if I come back in a couple days. Who knows.
I must say though, thank god for bankroll management or else I'd be fawked.
Here is the graph. See hand history for amusement.

More swings than a playground
RICHI8, Jan 23 2009
All I can say is: Wow, what a day. It was my day off so I logged a lil over 3k hands in NL25. I felt liked I played great, although I cannot lie, I did tilt on some occasions. However, I would like to thank Uptown, TalentedTom, and Exhilirate for posting a ton of hands and also replying to some of mine to keep my mind preoccupied while I was running like shat.
My day today was in 3 sessions. A morning session where I ended up down ~$115. Then I won it all back in a session after I went to the gym. Then I ate dinner and lost it all the way down to -$150. Then I won all of that back. Overall I ended up the day +$16. I wish I had PT3 so I could see a graph of my expectation.
I've been watching videos on deucescracked and trying to get in on some discussion on here as well as "4" (as bigred0000 likes to say). Overall I think it's really helping my game and I feel like it's only a matter of time until I am crushing NL25.
I'd post hands of how bad I ran but I'm sure most of you have seen it all so it's nothing impressive. Here's my graph for the day:

Overall I'm very pleased that I ended up +$15 with how I ran. I know I still have leaks, but they are getting plugged on by one.
Ups and downs
RICHI8, Jan 22 2009
Been bouncing around between STTs and Cash. Grinding the $6.50 turbos. I'm not sure which I like more. The 9 mans or the 6 mans? I started to get bored of those and moved to NL25 cash.
Yesterday I ran decent and won 2 buy ins. Today I'm running like absolute crap. I'm sure my play is less than optimal but it's been really, really bad. I need to stop trying to out play these people and just play solid. That seems more profitable.
I subscribed to deucescracked. They have a ton of 6max NL videos. Are there any authors or series that anyone on here likes in particular? Please let me know. So far I've been watching the Baby Steps series and it seems pretty good.
I'm gonna go to the gym now and let off some steam. Hopefully when I come back I run better and get back some of the rape I just took over the last 500 hands.
FTP to Stars Transfer
RICHI8, Jan 14 2009
Hi. Looking to transfer $500 from FTP over to Stars. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Back from NY/Canda
RICHI8, Jan 13 2009
Just got back from my trip to New York last night. It was a pretty fun trip and nice to see my friends and family. I was hoping to do a little more partying since I was on vacation, but we had one good night.
It was really, really cold out there. I can't believe I used to be used to those temperatures. I was freezing my ass off. I grew up in the suburbs of Buffalo, NY. It's a pretty lame city but it's where I grew up so it has some special value to me. All the city is really known for is it's food and the Buffalo Bills losing 4 straight super bowls. Ever since the industrial jobs have shifted to overseas the economy in that city has been very bad.
I have a lot of friends out here in San Diego but there's still no thing like the friends you grew up with. It's very different from people you meet when you're older. You have those special memories and you were able to grow up with each other and see how each of you changed so when I get together with my "old" friends it's really kinda cool.
On Friday we all went up to Clifton Hill. It's a little area just over the border in Canada that has a lot of cool little bars and clubs. A couple of my friends are still 20 so that was the best thing we could do that would involve everyone. We got a couple hotel rooms for the night and just raged it up. Went to 2 bars and then went to this club called Rumours. We got 3 bottles there and just had a good old time.
We all got drunk as hell and I got separated from my friends while I was trying to run game on a group of girls. After the club closed I ended up in a burger king chatting with a couple girls. They actually were coming back to the hotel room with me but then the drunkness started to kick in even more and I kinda forgot where the hotel room was. I ended up just walking away from them and drunken stumbled around the Clifton Hill area. Eventually I found a cab and he's like "uhhh.. you're hotel is right there" as he points literally across the street. Go me.
Next thing I remember I woke up in the hotel room, not even knowing how I got in because I couldn't find my room key anywhere. There was money all over the room and my wallet was on one side of the room and my clothing on another and my phone was in the bathroom. There was also no sign of my birth certificate or debit card. SHIT! I was freaking out. I searched the whole room and still didn't find it.
After a while we had to check out and upon checking out the hotel lobby girl was like "I think these belong to you sir." She pulls up my BC and debit card. I was so so so so happy. I could have married this chick I was so happy. At that moment I was on the phone with my bank canceling my card and I just hung up on them. Huge sigh of relief. So after that we merrily went back to the good ol' USA and got some hung over breakfast.
That was pretty much the most fun I had while I was home. Most of it was just family shit and kicking it with friends and former booty calls. Now I'm back in SD and I'm gonna go take a drive around and get some sun and maybe chill by the beach. After that it's grind time. I hope to get in a total of 750 SnGs this months.
Ciao.
Update
RICHI8, Jan 07 2009
I haven't updated in a few weeks so here goes:
I got about 25k hands in December. I wasted a lot of time bouncing around between NL and FL and I have arrived to the fact that NL is the way to go. I'm kind of angry at myself for wasting the time but at least now I know I'll stick to NL.
Lately I've been grinding the $6.50 SnGs on FTP. I have played a couple hundred so far and am at 11% ROI. I know I can get that up. I think I like SnGs more than cash. I seem to tilt a lot less since once you lose your SnG you're done, that's it. You just open up a new one and so on and so forth. I plan to grind this till around $1000 and then move to the $10s. I think I'm going to move from FTP to PS eventually though because PS has $15+1s. I get RB on FTP but it's really not all that much and I think PS has a better all around SnG selection.
As far as life goes I was busy with work but I just started a 9 day vacation. I'm leaving to go to New York tomorrow to visit friends and family. It's a pretty -EV move to go visit there right now because here in San Diego it's like 75 degrees today and in NY it's going to be like 15-25. I'm almost debating cancelling my flight. lol Since it's cold as fuck there right now I need to go shopping and get some "warmer" clothing. Living in SD the past couple years I own like nothing but shorts, polos, dres shirts, and a few pairs of jeans.
I'm gonna go to one of the largest malls around here called Fashion Valley and hopefully all of the winter season clothing isn't gone yet or else I'm fawked. When I get back I'll try to get in another 20-30 SnGs and then my flight leaves at 6AM tomorrow. Luckily when I come back from NY I have a couple more days of vacation left to just kick it here in SD and relax.
I hope everyones New Years is going well so far and good luck at the tables all.
