[the blind spot]
mp opens
i 3b TT in co
bn folds
sb mostly fishy soccer-type coldcalls
mp folds
135x eff or someshit
972r
he donks
i think and r
he calls
7 putting a 2flush out
he chks
i think
and something is there
and i think some more
and i can no longer delay my decision because it would create the impression that he has FE
so i bet
he immediately moves in
it's still there but i can no longer reasonably release
KK
i sit there and stare at the screen.
it hits me 30 seconds later.
he instacalled the flop raise and instachkd the turn.
when combined with an insta turn jam, and given that fact that this player is, in my estimation, fundamentally a coward... yeah.
i wonder how i didn't see it.
[the 0EV jam]
sunday 530
within breathing range of the bubble
i need a cash, a significant result, anything, right the fuck now
largish ante, nits on my left, nobody wants nuttin of it
i have been active, but "gonna win the tournament" active, not "LOL IGHN" active
utg playing 25x insta opens 3x with imo 22+ A6s+ K9s+ QTs+ ATo KQo (direct hand observation)
fold fold
i have A9s. 23x. something is niggling at me. i don't know what it is.
i jam.
all fold
he thinks for 2 seconds and calls with QQ.
i stare stupidly at the screen and slowly realize that he was never folding 55 or 66 or AQo given his retard overvaluation of his read of me as a LOL IGHN.
i look for something to break but realize that i have run out of suchlike.

log onto stars
have the worst of it continously
find a spot where i reasonably feel i have FE
have no FE
flop a straight
chop
suck out a few times
log off
yup, on da rite track
sawseech, Apr 05 2010
since making what are probably minor overadjustments i've played a sequence of sessions that have felt wonderfully deterministic. as i played i couldn't help but be reminded of feelings that i've had in the past.
it's funny how a minor pivot in tactics and some range tweaking can lead to almost immediately sensing that a significant loss is nearly impossible and that the only question isn't whether or not i'd win, but how much.
i have to guard against those feelings and take continous measures to stay on point and keep doing what i'm doing. WWSF up. StdDev down. AF infinite. Credibly threaten a strong hand. Take reasonable measures to evade spots wherein i am disadvantaged in any way. Seek out the spot, and take full advantage. If it's close, trust myself and above all, have faith.
leaks
sawseech, Apr 04 2010
i'm pretty sure that by nature i'm a pretty leaky player. what i mean by this is, if i were sitting 500x all the time, everything that i do would be perfect, but sitting 100x effective my tendency is to want to play far more often than is mathematically correct.
a better way of putting it would be that i seek out confrontation in all forms at the table constantly, because i like poker and i like the socially acceptable form of fucking with people that is pokar.
this is not a bad thing. the problem is that when i start to add tables, the counterbalancing mechanisms that i use to keep myself in check and to play more mathematically correct than is in my instinctive game mode start to break down. over time, this leads to significant leaks.
now, it's fine that i'm physically able to handle 15+ tables and play 10k+ hands in a day whenever i feel like it. there are certainly circumstances in which these skills become useful. last month for instance, i faced imminent bankroll death and this was the best way out, so i did it. it's no big deal.
if i want to continue to build upon what i've learned lately i think that it would be best if i continue to 4 table, stay aware of what i'm doing at all times and why, and try to maintain an aggressive mindframe in terms of taking shots and minimizing my general expenses, with the goal of accelerating my stakes progress as rapidly as possible while also inhibiting general leak formation; alextexe1ra and wcgrider and that other guy showed me alot and i want to build off of what i learned, not regress and have to plug leaks for the sake of playing alot of tables just because i can as i go nowhere fast.
unpossible day is unpossible
sawseech, Apr 03 2010
shit was just unpossible today although i do feel that i successfully lost the minimum.
then snider showed up and offered a flip for 124 and ofc he autoboxed it.
o and i bricked 6 more donkaments. and then i registered for the loathsome 100fpp jammament and i have a whopping 9.8x with 558 remaining as of this moment. i hate this fucking jammament so much that i feel that stars owes me a win in this loathsome jammament in recognition of how much i loathe it.

blackjack
sawseech, Mar 28 2010
i just loaded up 21 tables on stars specifically to see if everything that i thought i saw would be exactly wrong.
it was.
i had to be sure. i have a bit of a cold, and i am confident that heavy multitabling is responsible for my gradual loss of form over the past few weeks. at the present moment i am fundamentally incapable of handling rapid sucessive decisions without also losing control of my handle on myself.
it's not the hours. it's the continual processing of information combined with the need to check myself again and again as i play specifically because my instincts in cash are not excellent. it's only when i am calm and have mostly stepped outside of myself and proceed to observe the happenings that i perform well in this format. that and the fact that there's nothing that i won't do tactically. that's where the control comes in. at the present moment i continually fail to step outside myself and i also lack control over myself, leading to tunnel vision and frequent missteps.
because my play is so volatile, an hour of suck at 2SD can basically be a days worth of wins through controlled violence as i run only slightly bad.
