A much needed winning session this morning.
3 BI's down for the month, and I'm trying desperately to avoid a losing month.
Hmm, this session I had 5 regular tables open, and 4 "fast" tables (as opposed to 9 fast tables), and I think that may have been a factor. When I'm playing 9 fast tables I don't usually feel rushed, but after playing half regular tables, I notice that I have more time to think about hands (duh), and maybe that makes a difference. Gonna try the same tomorrow morning.
Oh, and HOW ABOUT THEM WARRIORS?!?!? Shark's tickets for round 2 go on sale in a couple hours; gonna see if I can score some.

Sweet.
Currently down 8 BI's for the month at 25NL.
I played a couple rare tourneys over the weekend, I pretty much never play tourneys because I don't usually have 2-3 hours I can devote at a time. But it was a lazy Sunday afternoon, and I had the spot to myself, so I took off my clothes and had a go at it.
I pretty much blew my entire cash from that tourney in my session this morning. I lost one set over set for a BI+, then a SICK suckout on a flopped straight for another BI. I steamed off another BI to paultjuh, and after that I seemed to calm down a bit. Take away those 3 hands, and I have a pretty solid session I guess. I won one $22 pot, and my next biggest gainer was $8...that didn't help the situation much either.

Okay session. Was up a couple buy-ins, then lost it all to 2nd barrels.
My AKo is definitely a loser for me as of this moment...I just don't like giving up on it. I dunno, any advice?
Anyhow, I've got 25 or so buy-ins for 50NL, but I just can't quite pull the trigger to move up. A few people have said that a 15 BI rule is sufficient enough.
I've decided to take a stab at the beginning of next week (provided I don't go on a massive slide before then).

It seems that I've reverted back to my old nitty ways this session, but it doesn't really feel like it.
I played much more conservatively post-flop; firing only 1 2nd barrel the entire session (unsuccessfully), and letting donk front-bettors have the pot most of the time. It didn't feel like I was changing my pre-flop game at all...but the numbers say otherwise. I guess I was a bit cold-carded too, dunno.
I've never felt more comfortable, though. I told myself before the session that I wasn't getting involved in a bunch of cock-measuring contests when I missed flops, and that took a whole lot of pressure off of me.
Anyhow, got sucked out once; lost a bunch of value with 999 another time. Could have been better, but I'm very satisfied. Nothing super exciting in this morning's hands though, I'm afraid

BOO! Made a pretty bold bluff at a double-paired board. Got majorly sucked out on with JTcc, and spewed a few chips off with AKo/33. Standard for me after a winning session.
It seems I have a case of Dr. Jekyl/Mr. Hide where at times I'm very solid, and at other times I'm very suspicious/spewy.

Short session this morning.
I just finished doing me and my brother's taxes, and I had to leave a bit early to drop them off at the post office. Thank goodness that's over with.
Really nice session, once I hit my AQ vs QQ AI pre-flop, I had a feeling everything was going to be allllright. Anyhow, back to - pretty much - even for this month, but you can't blame me for being a bit skeptical regarding how the rest of this week unfolds.

1 step forward, 96.80 steps back.
I started the session off by terribly misplaying my KQdd hand. From there, it all went downhill. It seems I was picking bad spots to be aggressive, and - at times - feeling like I was being run over. I ran into a few tough players this session (or atleast I had trouble with them) -
Lucky_Luke15: 15/10/inf, I really don't think he made any big moves on me, he was just catching some cards. Here's one BoB hand. He claims he had AJo, but I have a feeling he was a bit stronger than that.
TX2StepBaby: 60/4/3, TERRIBLE stats, but he was very aggressive against me, and would pounce if I should the slightest bit of hesitance. I have a feeling he stole a couple off me.
JeffreyNSU: 40/14/1.5, short-stacked guy would would also get very aggressive if checked to. I just wasn't able to capitalize on these guys throughout my entire session.
Even after reading vital[Myth]'s column regarding aggressiveness, I refused to back down, and tried to beat these guys at their own game. Most of my money was lost 2-barreling missed flops, only to c/f the river. I remember one of my 2-barrels being successful this session.
Anyhow, after the first 200 or so hands, I knew I wasn't playing my A-game, and I should have stopped. I actually learned a lot from playing against these super aggressive villains, and I think I can take away something positive (not money lol) from this session.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/173904 This was truly the beginning of the end for me. I actually meant to move the slidebar a couple ticks over ~$6.50, but even that wouldn't have been enough. After short-betting the turn, could I have folded this river?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/173905 Donking my chips away against a relative unknown. He 3-bet me out of a pot a few hands earlier, and that obv means he's going to get sneaky on me here, right? Stupid.

Real good session this morning. I've decided to stay with my more open game for now. I was able to stay aggressive and active while making very few big moves on pots. This would have been a huge session if douchenut hadn't cracked my AQ on the river. I'm back even for the month, with over half the month remaining; feels good to finally get over that first 4 BI slide.
My numbers are dramatically increased, and I don't even notice a huge difference in my play. I merely opened my range for 3-betting/raising with limpers, and the jump is pretty huge.
Anyhow, I'm at work now, and I have to pick up the TANKMAN from the vet in a couple hours. I hope he's okay; I also hope he doesn't have a bunch of sticthes up his nut(air)sack like some sort of Frankenstein pornstar.
Not many interesting hands besides the top 3 winners/losers I guess. Pretty much a good solid session.

Commentary:
Today I tried opening my game up a little bit.
Examples:
I started 3-betting a bit light against active players; raising UTG/EP with ATo, 78o, K9s; et cetera. I also started opening my pre-flop raises from LP with limpers. E.g. 9Ts with 1 limper; AJo with 2 limpers; et cetera. I believe most of my increased stats came from this. I really didn't change my blind game at all, I think I need to get more accustomed before I open that can of worms.
I'm not putting too much into the results yet, but I do know that this adjustment put my head in a tailspin at times while 9-tabling, and it's going to take me a while to get used to it.
I suffered some spew trying to bluff-catch a couple-3 hands. This has little to do with opening my pre-flop game, and more to do with me being a fucking idiot.
Oh, and the TANKMAN went in this morning to get his nuts chopped off. I'm so nervous for him

Well, my first 500 hands were the very best so far this month. I started on a +3 BI heater, and felt confident that I was finally gonna see some green before the middle of the month. But - as it has the tendency to do - poker dropped me back down to earth with the KK vs. AA hand below. Then I had a HUGE SPEW with AKo, and sort of got a handle on myself after that.
I came out ahead for the session though, with a decent WR so it wasn't a complete waste. If I play +4ptbb for the rest of the month, I'll be stoked to be honest.
