ive hit a wall and i want to smash it with my fist
  Stroggoz, Jun 29 2011

basically when i started playing poker again this year i went into the mentality that it wasn't worth playing this game unless i was good.

unfortunely i've hit a wall of improvement and can only beat nl200 at 1.2 BB/100. While this is pretty satisfying if u like living on 60k a year. It is not enough to live the life of cocaine and hookers that i've dreamed of ever since i was a child. And it is certainly not enough to pass onto any children i might have in the future.

I've been looking at other peoples profiles and see that people like pobolero beat 1/2 at 3 BB/100, and nanonoko beats 5/10 at 2.9 BB/100 (WTF!!)

anyway, imma try a month of 6 tabling to see if i can still actually improve by myself, if that doesn't work then i would be interested in coaching from someone that can beat 5/10 by more than .5/BB100.

Also i'm fairly interested in making a grindhouse in new zealand next year, if anyone is interested lemme know. Its a long shot posting this on LP, but meh whatever.

Also a lot of people have been taking my posts too seriously on lp, i will point out now that i have a severe case trollisitus. Which is basically when i subconciously troll in nearly all of my posts. This is a growing disease for me and i really dont like trolling but its become somthing that i do without knowing a lot of the time, and it makes me look like a massive dick because i have to disagree with every point of view even though i may not actually disagree. I will try to control this disease after this post but just letting you guys know that i have it.

learning PLO
  Stroggoz, Apr 17 2011

so after taking some shots @ 1/2 ive decided to play some PLO. Main reasons are because im getting a little bored of holdem, but also because there is little HU action there. Also its scary that there are more supernova elites at the tables than fish.

After taking some shots at PLO, the games seem ridiculously soft compared to holdem. Not only that but i can get consistent heads-up action at .5/1. The game does seem a little hard to follow though, sometimes i'm really unsure of what the fish are capable of doing in this game. And i love bluffing using blockers in this game.

heres a graph of holdem results so far this year, mostly 6-9 tabling 6max (with 1 table of HU) I started to 16 table .5/1 with tableninja at the end and variance started to kick in.

other than poker i played some awesome indie games recently
1st game was called: dont look back. A very hard game but has a good storyline and atmosphere to it. i would recommend sticking with the game until its completed, (it takes 15minutes to play the whole game if you've played it before)
2nd game was called: iconoclasts. This game is kinda quirky, its a platformer game with some good humor in it. However the game is unfinished and stops halfway through.

It's amazing that these two games are probably the best ive played in the last 5 years, something really sucks with the game industry at the moment.

so yeah in conclusion PLO is:

feb+ march
  Stroggoz, Mar 29 2011

i've just been grinding 1-6 tables from nl50-100 because at the start of the year i basically realized that i can't become a good poker player unless i cut down on the tables and start playing properly.

I think my biggest challenge in beating this game is that i find it insanely boring to play most of the time. I've been trying to make poker more enoyable by doing other shit but since the earthquake happened, the casino/gym and a lot of places which i want to go to have been closed ever since!
