Cash then Tourney
  NeillyJQ, Aug 13 2007

Started the day off with some cashgames at NL10 but got sick of how fucking horrible I'm running so I decided to join some donkaments.

Had a nice long tournament day, played in a few $4 180 man sit n go's and managed to place 5th in one, and busted in all the others just short of the money.

During the middle of the tournaments I joined a $5 tournament that was running on stars and got really deep. I ended up getting wrapped up with one of the other chipleaders in a massive pot, with my AA vs his KT, and well..I'll let the HH do the talk.

After this I was still fairly alive with 10x bb, when I picked up AQos in the SB. An UTG shorty shoves in, and I was 99% sure I had him beat so I called, only to see the big blind make the call behind me with KK. All was fine on an ace high flop, I thought..Turn K sent me packing to the big blinds pocket cowboys to take me out of the tournament to his two outer.

When it was all said and done, I finished 22/10xx, for $25. What a waste of 6 hours.
I've never felt so diminished as a poker player, this was literally the most frustrating day of my poker career.

Fuck this game, it fucking sucks.
Like putting 2k in my hands and taking it away at the last second.

GL guys.

Back to NL10
  NeillyJQ, Aug 12 2007

Well, tonight was fucking hellacious.

I managed to lose 6 buy-ins in 2 hours tonight, bringing my roll back under $400..

Whatever I did it just wouldn't work out..I'm going to be grinding on NL10 for the next couple days to get myself back to NL25 and go from there..

This session was fucking horrible.
I'm annoyed, pissed, angry, w/e.

This hand just about sums up my night;

First day at NL25
  NeillyJQ, Aug 12 2007

I started the day running really bad and dropped three buy-ins in the beginning, before the cards turned for me and I won back what I lost and a little more.

I'm really enjoying the dynamic on NL25 and will be playing here for the next month or so;

Heres my stats from todays session;

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 1819 hands and saw flop:
- 132 out of 250 times while in big blind (52%)
- 58 out of 242 times while in small blind (23%)
- 129 out of 1327 times in other positions (9%)
- a total of 319 out of 1819 (17%)
Pots won at showdown - 49 of 84 (58%)
Pots won without showdown - 180

Getting closer and closer to Supernova, woohoo~

NL10 and up
  NeillyJQ, Aug 11 2007

Today I had a nice session on NL10 and decided to move up to NL25.

I've found my winning groove, playing at 14-16% (depending on how many hands I see in the blinds for free) and hope to make it to NL50 to stay for a good long while.

Here are my stats from todays session on NL10;

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 1897 hands and saw flop:
- 133 out of 261 times while in big blind (50%)
- 55 out of 262 times while in small blind (20%)
- 137 out of 1374 times in other positions (9%)
- a total of 325 out of 1897 (17%)
Pots won at showdown - 33 of 66 (50%)
Pots won without showdown - 187

Happy to have found myself again at the table, and will start posting hand analysis from my sessions soon.

Ryan (DReaMe)

Todays session
  NeillyJQ, Aug 06 2007

I started the day off on NL10 not too hot, and lost a buy-in in less than 5 minutes. After that I started playing very well.

I've taken all sooted hands out of my arsenal except for on the button, and sometimes on the co with great implied odds.
I've also removed hands like JK in LP, AT in LP, and alot of other marginal hands I was playing.

My winrate is back to where it was a few months ago, before I was taking shots on NL100-NL200.

My strategy had changed slightly everyday on NL100 and NL200 until the change in strategy became leaks, which I'm trying to fix now, so I can become a solid NL50 player to stay.

Heres my stats from todays session;

1st session;

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 1063 hands and saw flop:
- 63 out of 140 times while in big blind (45%)
- 20 out of 137 times while in small blind (14%)
- 63 out of 786 times in other positions (8%)
- a total of 146 out of 1063 (13%)
Pots won at showdown - 17 of 35 (48%)
Pots won without showdown - 79

2nd session;

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 1540 hands and saw flop:
- 102 out of 208 times while in big blind (49%)
- 35 out of 209 times while in small blind (16%)
- 93 out of 1123 times in other positions (8%)
- a total of 230 out of 1540 (14%)
Pots won at showdown - 36 of 60 (60%)
Pots won without showdown - 132

Going to take the rest of the night off,

Guidelines
  NeillyJQ, Aug 04 2007

I've spent the last day or so analyzing alot of the hands I've been playing, and decided to reshape my game back to the old, with the added knowledge of learning how to play very aggro and how very aggro players think, I will be consistantly playing at 13-15% (runnin good?) and going back to the ABC style that did me so well from the getgo.

I will indefinately be opening my ranges up IP the deeper I get vs other deepstacked players, but other than that I've just found opening with so many of the hands that I've been opening with lately is just, well, a spew.

So, be expecting to seeing alot of solid ABC poker out of me, and alot of high premium hands being posted on the board.

NIT life = winning life = less stressful life
(for me atleast, I'm definately no SakiSaki thats for sure)

I'm pretty much just writing this as a personal reminder that I can see everyday,

Restart
  NeillyJQ, Aug 01 2007

I spent the last two weeks collecting my mind and getting ready to start playing again, and feel like I'm ready to give it another go, with proper BR management and an increased focus due to stress reduction.

I'm moving into a new house now, and will start dealing poker on the side at a local casino as well.

I left myself $25 when I stopped playing about a month ago.
After a couple two hr sessions on NL2, I'm now rolled for NL5, and will be working my way up the limits slowly, until I hit NL50 where I plan to stay and play for atleast a few months, maybe more.

Feeling better than ever,

Time off
  NeillyJQ, Jul 23 2007

I've had a nice run on the cash tables, up and down for the past 4 months. During this time almost every session was atleast 12 hours for two months, and alot of long grueling sessions during the other two month span as well.

Got pretty burnt out after 300,000 hands, in which the last 50,000 I have to admit I've been playing on a mild form of tilt.

So, I'll be spending the next two weeks collecting my mind and patience, and plan to be restarting online poker around the second week of august.

Only 16k FPP's away from supernova, that'll be something I'll be eagerly awaiting.

Other than that, I'll be moving into a new house next week with an accomplished cash player in Pittsburgh. We'll be spending long sessions playing daily and make it to most of the good live games around the area.

GL to all of LP,
cya soon
