Naysayers
NeillyJQ, Oct 10 2007
You guys all say I'm terrible, a lucksack, and other stupid shit.
I've been playin cash for 5 months and I've learned to spot almost all ev situations, and play them well, and ya, i went busto a couple times, its a learning process.
I play 1/2 in the casino and I play it online because I have an awesome comfort level there, and I just flow with that game and dominate. I have literally 150 hrs of 1/2 play in the casino under my belt. Let me do my thing and watch and see.
If my roll ever hits certain areas I go into caution mode and rebuild from a limit where I'm deep from.
Most of ya'll sayin shit aren't even NL50 players.
I manage my money well, and attack when I see +ev.
Start rootin for your fellow LP'ers instead of negating.
GL everyone,
Ryan
Tournaments
NeillyJQ, Oct 09 2007
After long consideration, I started grinding tournies inestead of cash, because of the skill level difference in my opponents.
Its been going well, I went 3/3 in the 5400 FPP Sunday million seat, theres a nice $600. Playing in all the tournies from $3 rebuys to the $109's.
So we'll see how this goes, if my roll hits 1k its back to NL50. (Its at $2750 right now)

Ryan
My experience
NeillyJQ, Oct 08 2007
Ok, sittin here smokin a joint thinkin about poker, and figured I'd write up a biography of my poker past.
Aug 03' - I get back from Taiwan and see Rekrul and Nazgul switched to poker, I saw some correlation between the two and choose to do the same.
During this time I never read a book or anything, just played off pure heart. I did this for the next year, and won 2 small tournaments ($1000, and $150) during this time, but went busto instantly cuz i was playing NL50 6max with a 4 BI br bank then.
For the next year I played tournament poker, and got really good at it by 05'. I started cashing in tournament poker on a high enough % where I was pulling some profit.
Beginning of 06' came, and I got my first big score of $5,300 from a $3 rebuy.
I went to Atlantic City with the money and lost some, but had a great time. I played at the tag in the 2/5 games everynight, vs some realllllllllly good players. It was like a lesson everyday. Now when I go play live anywhere I just dominate cuz of the month I spent in AC.
Came back to reality and started playing online again and my good friend DooMeRFD taught me how to play cashgames correctly, then I read a few books and learned the fundamental theorem of poker, as well as deepened my learning of the deep math concepts that accompanies poker.
I also used sakisaki's video, and Daut44's video as good learning tools and recommend them to everyone. I think you can find links on there blogs or under one of our forums
From then on, I ran $18 into $3990 before going on a crazy tilt run losing my br the first time.
After that, I'm thinkin, FUCK POKER, but what the hell, I give it another go after like 2 days (yeah, its an addiction)
This time I managed to work to NL50 and dominating again, but my arrogant ass thought I was good enough to play with the big boys and I lost my roll soon shortly there after.
Next time "this is July" - I tell myself, if I lose at poker I have to quit for atleast 6 months, maybe a year. If I want to play I need to win and not go into the games where I'll lose my roll.
I do well, run off 5k and cash it out.
Move into new apartment - furnish it - buy tv - etc.
Next time around is fucking sick. I build my roll and dominating NL50, and get 3rd in a tourney for 4k, +2.3k BR)
Then go completely ice cold the next day and lose all of it.
Then $1500 from my bank account.
-$8,000 day - worst day ever
So since I can't put anymore on stars for a week I ask our good friend Rush for a loan (Still have money in the bank to cover it if it went bad), and turn the 300 into $3k in 2 days.
Paid him back, and got deep in the $100 $25k gntd at night on stars, and got bad beat the fuck out when i was 2/20 left, losing AAvJJ,AKv55,A4vKT
And here I am, just got done running like shit on NL100, and playing pretty poorly as well.
And I've come to a realization. I'm just not good enough to play with them anymore. NL50 is the only place I can play for the next few months.
1/2 I'm great at because I play it a ton at the casino, but I'm staying out of there til I hit 8k.
So here we go, on a mission to 8k by Nov.1.
The 8k is what I lost all together..
This run has taught me about how deep variance is, is to always be playing on atleast 40 bi's, and to be willing to use your entire stack whenever needed, and also good opportunities to bluff.
So I got $1,500, 3 years of experience, and ounce of weed, and a dream to make it to 1/2 by christmas, and be good enough to stay and play there for a long time.
Wish me luck boys,
Ryan (DReaMe)
Why the FUCK!?
NeillyJQ, Oct 07 2007
So, I'm 3/20 left in the $100 25k gntd where first place was rougly 15k.
Then the break is over and we are back at it.
Here we go !

Rebound - Determination
NeillyJQ, Oct 06 2007
After my complete idiot donkass run, I managed to rebuild my roll to close to 2k within the last two days.
The downswing taught me alot, and playing vs the competition I was against, now the NL100 and NL200 games are fairly easy.
It was literally one of the worst days of my life a couple days ago, winning 6k then losing it all in one day.
But I've rebuilt, and I'm back.
This time I will manage my br better.
I played alot of HU today;
During current Hold'em 1on1 session you were dealt 656 hands and saw flop:
- 84 out of 328 times while in big blind (25%)
- 57 out of 328 times while in small blind (17%)
- 0 out of 0 times in other positions (0%)
- a total of 141 out of 656 (21%)
Pots won at showdown - 24 of 44 (54%)
Pots won without showdown - 304

After the tourney score and a fully replenished bankroll, i decided to hit the 1/2 and 2/4 tables tonight.
I ran pretty well, other than running AKs into wobbly's AA. Wasn't sure of his image to well, felt I needed to call.
Heres my stats from tonight;
During current Hold'em session you were dealt 1265 hands and saw flop:
- 67 out of 207 times while in big blind (32%)
- 46 out of 208 times while in small blind (22%)
- 65 out of 850 times in other positions (7%)
- a total of 178 out of 1265 (14%)
Pots won at showdown - 19 of 36 (52%)
Pots won without showdown - 178
