God. I'm like in a maze that I can't get out. I'm going in circles and not feeling fulfilled with life.


I wake up and do things I don't care about. My days pass by. I'm feeling empty inside. I got a girlfriend for two years that made the emptiness go away. She left me and now it's back. WTF. I want friends and life experiences. I had that when I was younger but ever since I started playing poker, I felt like making money was better than spending time elsewhere. I used to make solid solid money. Now it's okay... still better than an entry level job, but I'm starting to wonder more there is to life. My lifestyle is non-existent. Should I move to a city and know no one and start over? Like... fuck. Only people I know right now are my parents, my friends from school that kind of have their own lives now. My ex that I keep texting with no response. I'm almost 28... :X


I think eating and exercising is huge in mood improvement. Let me add that I'm pretty bad socially so I don't get out often. I'm just craving that human contact. For whatever reason I don't feel it with my parents, only with my GF. Man..... any words of wisdom for me? AGAIN. Haha

How much does it cost to create a site like runitonce? How hard is it to build? I'm trying to gather more information because I want to hire someone to build it and I don't want to get ripped off. Thanks for the help.

Legit idea. Promise. I need something solid like $250K-$500K to get this started, or someone who's really tech savvy and can make professional looking websites with servers (and probably some money but way less, I got some saved). Startups are selling for 1bil left and right. Anyone with Phil Galfond's email?? I need to pitch my idea to him! I'm learning RUBY right now ... but to do a 10 man job myself from scratch is not the way.

I don't know if poker has gotten harder in the last 6 months or if I'm just burnt out. I played some crazy HU matches last year and swung almost 10 grand each way. Results were that my lack of care for money due to HU made me play recklessly in 6m throwing money around, which didn't end well. I took a few months off and now I can't get my groove going, lost 2 flips this session and not feeling good about my game or edge. Maybe it's my patience. I seem to be forcing plays rather than letting them come to me. There's still clearly fish but I can't seem to beat the games as of yet. What are your experiences 200NL+?

I've come to a point where i need to rework my game if I want to stay competitive. Do any LP members have experience with their premium packages? Which site would you recommend? Both sites have big pro names. Thanks!

I play on Merge and Bovada. Highest stakes there is 600NL. I'd be playing 200-600 NL, about 4-10 tables. Bovada has higher stakes than 600NL but their software is tilting and players are anonymous so the games much different IMO. You have to guess who's the type to run bluffs and who's the type to nit it up, so I tend to stay on Merge more often after realizing I lose focus when playing on both simultaneously. I'm also interested in PLO and tournies but as a side game and not for profit, for now.

What are some hobbies or useful/fun skills to get into?

I'm trying to rid myself of bad habits. I realize I spend a huge chunk of my time playing league of legends and that shit is just a waste of life. I don't even have fun playing. What are some things you guys do that you couldn't see yourself without?

If you could make 5-10k from online poker every month, what would your life be like? I'm 26, living with my parents, and have little life experience. What's my most +EV move? I feel like your job is a huge part of your lifestyle. Being on the computer at home doesn't exactly help me improve as a person. What are things I can do to improve myself/better my life?


Related thoughts:

I own my own car and house. It's being rent out where rental income > mortgage.
I just got my BA in finance last spring. Have not had job yet.


Give me ideas. I want to improve myself in every aspect as well as do things that would make me happy.
