Hi guys

I am currently intending to buy a new computer form the next 800$ i make with poker ( 570€).

I am currently using a 3 1/3 Year old custom build desktop that i bought August 2005

Athlon XP3000+ ( Arctic cooling Silencer)
1024mb ram DDR-400
Geforce 7600GT XFX ( was originally a Radeon9800 in 2005 but got replaced in 2007 by the 7600GT)
80GB Seagate HD + 250GB HD external USB
Asus motherboard
Asus Tower + Papst Silencers

22" TFT Benq ( new one bought in 2008)

My main requirements for a new computer

a) Be Silent and stable -> I really hate noisy computers and so i always replace all cooler-fans with quality products
c) be faster than my old machine. I dont really need like an uber fast computer who can play Crysis all details in 50fps ...
but it must be fast enough to play Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 since those are the games i will be playing on the machine.
d) good for movies -> i guess like 35% of the usage i will have on this new computer is watching movies.
e) okay for Poker -> I mostly 1-2 table HU and sometimes i 6table 6max.

So i am not sure if i rather get a desktop or a laptop.

is there even a laptop in the range of 570euros ( 800$) that is good enough for most games + good for poker and university work

Some of u got it wrong
I wasnt complaining about yesterdays - 4,5 BI
i was complaining about what happend in the space of the 2 big black boxes !
cause i played at 4am in the morning being totally tired when i should have slept !

That was a totally unnecessary bust of 400$ which made me angry afterwards

overall ofc still pretty happy

made another 100bucks at Nl100

+1,3K last 11 days.

run bad at Fpps and toruneys though

Also watched a bit of schnibl0r playing 3/6 HU today

I am not sure if i feel sorry for this guy
he s like uber NeillyAA

he busted close to 1 Million $ 2 times !!! by playing the best of the world at the highest stakes

now he grinds Nl600 + runs bad there

I remeber the first time when he busted like 1 million to Patrick Antonious and Hoss
he was asked how it feels after he lost 600K in a week

Well i think caring about money is pretty important in Poker !
Sooner or Later some of these guys who dont/didnt care will realize it was a mistake.

As fazi once said in a blogpost : ( I dont remeber 100%)
He could be driving a ferrari if he just didnt spend so much money pointless or something ...

Hu poker is so much more fun than 6max + i feel a lot more in control and a lot safer at it.
I also think my natural agression fits better to HU
However i might try some 6max in the near future again , since u dont get FPPs at HU NL100 >-<

Last 7 days have been great.
I didnt play much but i still made nice profits of > 100$ day

played like 15 hands vs Artanis then and lose 20-30$ or so
so i started day like - 161$

after that i played one total fish and won a good amount back
i took a small break and then played a regular and also won some good amount of him.

pretty happy now

Artanis also obsed one of my games and i think he is right that i dont valuebet enough in some spots
will fix that in teh future
