Skydiving!
  thewh00sel, Jul 13 2008

Today was bobbie's (my wife) birthday and we decided to go skydiving. It was pretty sweet and I highly recommend it as a once in a life time experience. I don't see myself doing it again, but it was definitely worth the $200 to get up in a plane and plummet down toward the earth in freefall, then do some nifty fairly high G-Force parachute spins. That is all, go try it, etc.

Pics:

HI FIVE FOR SAFE LANDINGS

Sidebar- After spending over $15,000 on WSOP buy ins I managed to be ~15k in the positive for June/July by making about 30k playing some 5/10. I won't be playing any more in July because I'm going on a cruise etc, but just figured I'd post an update. ttyl blog

Main Event Update
  thewh00sel, Jul 05 2008

Well I played the main event today, It was pretty cool. I guess I had Larry Flynt sitting directly to my left. For those who don't know he's the inventor of Hustler magazine and such, has 2-3 body guards and a wheel chair made of gold. He was terrible though and busted out after limping every hand and eventually check/called 2k all in on a flop of A24 rainbow with a T7o.

Anyways, on to my story: My table was nice and juicy, bad players, etc, level one went ok I chipped up to like 23k or so with no showdowns. Level 2 was not going my way though. Every time I reraised a premium someone would wake up with something in the blinds and cold 4-bet and I'd be forced to fold. I managed to chip down to about 16k or so when the following happened. Frequent opener raised the hijack to 600 and I called on the button with 89cc. BB also defends. Flop comes down Tc4cJh, killer flop for my hand. Notes on the BB: terrible all around, will bet-call anything, has no understanding of hand value or ranges, also thinks that the game being slow (due to larry flynt's alzheimer's or w/e making him take like 30sec per hand) is a good thing because it keeps you from losing more chips...Anyways it checks to me on the flop and I bet 1,100 into 1900. The BB thinks a bit and calls, hijack folds. Also should be noted that the BB hesitated before checking the flop so I assumed he had some sort of strong hand that he's deciding to slowplay. The turn is an off suit 8 and the BB checks quickly. I go ahead and check behind, given my assumption that he's strong. The river is the magical Ace of clubs. He leads out 3k at me and I start trying to figure out how to get the most out of him. I decide that he's the type of guy who will have to big of an ego to lay down KQ or any set or top 2 on this board and decide to shove for 13k total. He sits back in his chair and starts mumbling, he says "what could you have kid? ...*tanks for 20-30seconds*..."

"Okay I call, I have the nuts." and he tables KQcc, GG main event. Hate slowrollers.

Selling Myself Main Event
  thewh00sel, Jun 28 2008

Okay, so I guess I spent a fair amount on WSOP buy-ins and whatnot and I don't feel like shelling out 10k on one tournament buy in so I'm offering my body for money. I haven't done any type of staking deal before bc I think it's kind of embarrassing but I think I'd be profitable in the main event and feel like I can make potential buyers and myself a lot of money.

Okay, down to business. I'm selling myself in such a way that the more you buy, the better your value, so the numbers are as follows:

1-5% pay double ($200-$1,000)
6-10% pay 1.5x ($1,100-$1,500)
11-15% $1,600-2,000
16-20% $2,100-2,500
21-25% $2,600-3,000
26-30% $3,100-3,500
31-35% $3,600-4,000
and so on up to 50% for $5,500.

If anyone is interested in any % PM me or MSN me at thewh00sel@hotmail.com

3rd WSOP event played update
  thewh00sel, Jun 26 2008

Well, I played the 5k 6 handed today. It got 800 entrants and I busted around 200th when someone opened and I shoved 20BB's with AJ and the BB randomly woke up with AK to knock me out. I met a couple of LP's finest (cosmo, lyric, rekrul), and everyone seemed nice even though I didn't talk to them long. Maybe i'll get to know some of them better before the wsop ends. Anyways, I have yet to even make a Day 2, lol, even though I feel like I'm playing my A Game. Oh well.

Guess my month is still +6k even though I've played about 13k in WSOP events, so all is well. Time for bed.

2nd WSOP event + updates
  thewh00sel, Jun 16 2008

Well I had a good friday/saturday (+5-6k) so I decided to play the $3k NLHE event. We started with 6k in chips and toward the middle of the 100/200/25 level I had a little more than 6k and raised KK utg to 525. Got a call from none other than LP's own Elky and 2 other donks. Flop J97, I C-bet 1500 and got shoved on by elky for about 4k more and I call to see QQ. He binks a Q on the turn and it's GG 3k event. We were about even in chips but he had me by like 200 or so. Anyways, back to the grind to see if I can't play any more events.

Update: In vegas + first event
  thewh00sel, Jun 07 2008

Well we're in vegas and settled in. One thing I've noticed since moving here a week ago is that this city is like the easiest city ever to drive in. Everything's easy to find + never any traffic. I like. But anyways, I played my first wsop event today (the $2,500 nlhe) and it was alright. Starting with 5k in chips i found myself at 30 bb's fairly quickly but I managed to hang around for a few levels. Got AA twice and no action and then when i was down around 5500 at 150/300/25 ante EP big stack opened and I reshipped TT and lost the flip to AQ, standard stuff. My table wasn't too difficult and I didn't recognize anyone. There were 2 younger internet guys but they were meh. One a little lagtarded and the other far too nitty. The lagtarded one obv managed to lucksack a couple standard hands, like the 2nd hand jimmy fricke was at my table the lagtard's JJ outraced gobbo's QQ.

Anyways, I saw a few of LP's finest (Myth/cosmo and some others) chatting when I was on the phone during a break and didn't manage to say hi, but hopefully I'll be able to chat it up with you guys later on. bye.
