short session + going out
  SneakrFreakr, Apr 24 2007

So in the morning I got up and finally did what I was supposed to. Gonna get £270 as my tax return so I'll have some more drinking monies. Finally did some shopping so I don't have to eat pringels + red bull for my lunch anymore. Good diet is important, right? I played a bit today but the FTP was soooo slow that I finished very quickly. Made about $100 or so anyway so that's good. Should've been more but dem hoez are hitting their flush draws all the time when we get it in on the flop but whatever.

My friend just called that there's a party in one of the clubs that's called "Sex with the robots". No idea what does it mean. Maybe some free hoez dressed up like robots giving free blowjobs? Why not. Anyway the entry is free plus he's got a nice bottle of Polish vodka so I've got good implied odds so I can't just fold. The only thing that worries me is that I'll get pissed again, then sleep till 2pm tommorow and do nothing for the rest of the day. But let's hope that this time it'll be different. Ok time to put on some balla clothes and take my Gallardo from the garage. Oh wait.. I don't have one. Meh, buses are pretty balla too, aren't they? Holla

bad run but still in the green
  SneakrFreakr, Apr 23 2007

So I got up about 11:30 today (meh, had an alarm clock set up for 9am but somehow I didn't wake up), had a breakfast, watch a vid on CR, browsed some forums and then play a bit on FTP. I was 6-tabling for the most part as there were 6 huge donks spread across 6 tables so I just had to play with them. I didn't have any trouble and I felt that I was even more focused than during 4tabling and I was paying attention to every interesting pot at each table, taking lots of notes etc. I was running pretty bad with all the beats and setup. First a 3-outer on the river, then two 2-outers on turn and river, 4 outer on turn and some sick setups. Somehow I still finished up about $150. I felt like I was playing my best game for a long time, fully concentrated, making good reads and plays. Hopefully I can keep playing like this.

After the session I went to buy my favorite kebab - even though I have one on the corner I still decided to go to the one that is like 15mins far from my house. It's just fkin delicious and just £2,50. So I ate my kebab while watching "Epic Movie" which is a Scary Move-alike comedy. Nothing special but I laughed a few times. I had a bad headache in the evening so I decided not to play anymore and talked to my friend from Poland a bit. I really miss my friends again. But I'm coming back there for like 3,5 months during summer so that's great.

I also studied a bit for the IELTS and I'm doing better. I was mostly afraid of the reading part as there's not much time during it plus I have problems with concentration (how can I get Adderall in Poland? anyone? I don't think I've got ADHD so I can't get it from my doctor). But today I did 2 sample reading tests and I scored 35/40 in one and 36/40 in the other so it's pretty awesome. Ok, enough for now. Here are my stats and some hand histories:

1. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/180114
No stats on villain at that point. I was kinda sure that I was behind on the river when he bet out but I still think I had to call. What do you think? What if he shoved. I wonder why didn't he do so. Anybody raises flop here? Or calling is ok?

2. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/180116
For those who say that FTP is tough and nitty.

3. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/180119
I like my line here. Villain was 25/22/7 after 35 hands. I checked flop behind as I didn't want to get c/r with my OESD and I didn't want to play too big of a pot in such spot. Good to get paid by A high.

4. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/180123
Very basic stuff. Villain was like 18/8/7 after 120 hands. Do you bet this turn everytime? Or checking behind and calling/betting blank river is ok?

5. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/180126
Villain was 23/10/2.4 after 200 hands and was betting river 18% of the time. Had no idea what to put him on after he just minbet turn and then bet pot when A came on river. And he had to be aware that Ax is a huge part of my range. What do you think about this spot?

I don't like to post beats/setups but these two are too beautiful to exclude them from my post (both happened in less than 5 mins):

6. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/180128
Yuppi! Turned fullhouse! Oh wait.. he's got quads..

7. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/180129
Hurray! Rivered a fullhouse! Oh wait.. he's got a royal flush.. Here I kinda felt he could have QQ or AK as he was a major donk but he's still calling me w/ AA or KK (or even AQ, KQ) like 99% of the time so I think my shove is definitely +EV.

8. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/180130
Almost shoved it for value on the river. Villain was 43/6/8 after 35 hands. I think he might have AQ here quite often. He might call me w/ QJ but I think he's folding Q9 and lower. This time he had a runner runner flush. Would you value shove or value bet it at least?

9. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/180135
Villain is the fish from JJ vs royal flush hand. I was pushing any nonclub turn for value. Too bad it came on turn. Luckily he didn't have any and didn't try to bluff it. Likey?

Time to go to bed now. Got a few things to do tommorow (the ones that I was supposed to do today) so I gotta get up early. Holla

short update
  SneakrFreakr, Apr 22 2007

Haven't played much for the last few days. Went out on Thursday and Friday so didn't have much time. Hangover all the time, trying to study a bit etc. Played like 600 hands on FTP and won a buyin or so. Then won like 250$ on BM network just to drop $400 there today due to some sick setups and beats. But I think I needed such a day cause I was becoming too confident after having like 6 winning sessions in a row. My roll is close to 6k so I'm gonna continue to grind nl100 until my exam (which is on 5th May) and if my roll will be above 6k (preferably about 7k) I'll try to move up to nl200. I'm not sure where am I going to continue playing now. I still have some bonus to clear on FTP but it's lagging as fuck (at least for me) so it's almost impossible to play. I'm trying out a new site and it seems to be ok but the tables are 5handed and I'm having a little trouble adapting, plus the action is much faster (and the damn overlap) but I guess the level of play should compensate for it. I'm missing Party though. So I'll probably try to clear the FTP bonus and get back to Party and play on the new site occasionally as well.

As for the non-poker stuff, as I said before I've been going out a bit recently. On Friday I went to Tiger Tiger which is a nice place during student parties (on regular fridays and saturdays it's ridiculously expensive) and most important - they've got cheap double vodka redbull. But I didn't drink too much and I actually remember the whole party. On Friday I went to some crazy club where every kept asking me if I've got some pills for sale. The music was pretty good though and the girls.. I had no idea that such beauties live in the UK. We left the club at about 4:30 and we couldn't catch any buses se we started walking and 45 mins later I was at home. Woke up about 4pm next day. Studied a bit and didn't play any poker yesterday. Today was pretty boring as well - just studied and played poker.

Tommorow I've gotta move my lazy ass to the city centre to claim my tax return from this year. Then I'll probably try to clear my FTP bonus and study a bit. Hopefully I'll be running better than today:

sicko
  SneakrFreakr, Apr 19 2007

So on Tuesday I was supposed to play a long session but after 200 hands my friend called me that there's some nice barbecue on their campus so I picked up a few beers and went there. I managed to make over a buyin in these 200 hands anyway. After the barbecue, about 1am we were still a bit hungry so we went to Abdul's for a kebab obviously. I came back about 2am tired as fuck (because of the damn shisha probably) and slept for like 12 hours. I was supposed to do some running in the morning with my mate but I gave up and just switched off the alarm clock.

The good thing is that I've finally started studying a bit. IELTS is EZ. Just neet to practice some writting and reading. So after studying for like 2 hours yesterday I played 2 sessions on FTP. I ended the first run after 1k hands or so and I was up $150. Then, after a 2hr break I played another 900 hands or so and ran like total crap. First I lost against two 2outers on the river after we went allin preflop and on the flop, then I lost two 4outers on turn and river (again money went in preflop or on the flop, ie. KK < KQ and its straight), my AA wasn't good enough when I went allin preflop against KQ and finally I had JJ against a maniac from a AA vs KQ hand but this time he turned out to have aces. Even though I ran so bad I lost only a bit over a buyin and overal I was still up for the day which is pretty cool. People just loved to pay me off yesterday and they were donatind money left and right. Too bad I ran so terribly cause it could've been my best day ever in poker. Here are my stats from these two days. Again no hand histories cause I don't want to post my beats and there weren't many interesting hands. Maybe I'll post sth in the evening or tommorow. I really opened up my game and my stats were even close to 23/19 or so but in the end of the session I was a bit tired and wasn't getting cards so I was giving up all the time and that's why my stats went down. Also my flop AF was pretty damn high again but that's cause I was hitting so many flops and people were also pretty passive so I was taking lots of pots from them.

lol graphaments
  SneakrFreakr, Apr 17 2007

First I'd like to post my graph from April so far (includes only nl100 6max on Party):

Anyone out there on nl100 having swings like mine? Oh and just on a side note - there's no tilting involved in these 17k hands.

So two days ago I played a session on Party where I decided to loosen up a bit. I was running almost 22/18 but in the last 400 hands of the session I was completely cold decked so my stats dropped down to 20.5/17. But I'm still happy with it. Also I managed to get my flop AF below 4 which is quite optimal I think. My Att. To Steal Blinds also went up which is good. I'm also defending especially in BB a bit more but I still feel quite uncomfortable playing more hands from this position.

Yesterday, right after I received my full withdrawal from FTP, they sent me an email saying that as their dear customer I am eligible for a $300 bonus and I've got 14 days to clear it. So I decided to deposit 1k there and clear my bonus and leave. So far I've played about 1,8k hands and got $60 from the bonus. I'm getting rakeback at the same time so it's good monies. I was playing pretty loose during the session and my stats were as high as 24/21 but later on I wasn't getting any hands and people were limping and raising all the time so I was just giving up. But I'm still happy with my game as I'm opening up a bit and this combined with controlled agression makes it much more comfortable way to play for me.

I also noticed one thing. FTP is soooo passive comparing to Party nowadays. The level of agression is much higher on Party and so are the swings. But FTP software and players out there are sooooo slow that it's just painful to watch.

Yesterday was quite busy for me as I had a few things to sort out in the city centre and I also had to do the shopping. Now I've got to go the uni to put forward my application for the accomodation for next year and I should probably shave my beard and go to the hairdresser cause I look pretty similar to this guy:

Playing poker ain't healthy.

I don't have time to post my hand histories now but I'll spend some time analyzing my game later on. I should probably study for like 2 hours today but as usually I'll end up playing poker instead. Or maybe not? We'll see.

Poker is not EZ
  SneakrFreakr, Apr 15 2007

At least when your session starts like this:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/175076
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/175077

Here I my results from yesterday:

I still did pretty well considering how awfully I was running - I think I only made like 2 bad calls throughout the session (but yeah I could've and should've avoided them) and pushed for value on the river in some very marginal spot w/ KQ on K high board and got called by a slowplayed AK - probably I should've just checked behind but I thought that he could call me with many weaker kings considering how bad my image was. Not many interesting hand histories but I made some nice calls, picked up some good spots to 2nd barrel etc.

I woke up about 11am today and went with my Polish friends for a lunch and then we went to some Spanish girl for her birthday barbecue. The weather is great, it's really hot and people are saying that it's never been like this in Manchester during April. But that's good - too bad all my shorts are in the laundry. We left the barbecue early as it was a bit boring. I got home a few minutes ago and I'll probably watch an episode of Rome and then I'll play some poker obviously.

Friday 13th is not that bad
  SneakrFreakr, Apr 14 2007

So I played a decent session yesterday in the morning. I was running quite good and would have won more if not for the worst call I've ever made. All in all I ended up winning $260 or so. I'm too ashamed to show my vpip and pfr. I feel like I've loosened up a bit in the last few days but my stats remain the same or even go down. Meh at least I'm winning now but I think I need to open up my game.

After a sesion I tried to study a bit but I couldn't focus so I finished after 30 mins or so. It's really hard to get back into studying and this kind of stuff after a one year break. But yeah - I need to get over it if I want to pass this IELTS thing. Any advice how to motivate yourself to focus? I've got problems with my concentration and it's hard for me to stay focused for longer than 5 mins (especially if it's sth that I don't find interesting). I'm constantly distracted by everything that's around me.

Yesterday one of my friends came back to Manchester so we went to a pub, ordered some food and had a few pints. Obviously I had a kebab on my way back and I went to bed about 4-5am :/ Got up about 11am or so and I've been watching Rome till now. I've just did my loundry, gonna take a shower now, study a bit and obviously play some poker.

And some hand histories from yesterday:

1. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/174429
In this hand I was going to bet out turn but a pretty bad card came. I put villain exactly on sth like 66-TT. His stats were 16/14/3.2 so I was pretty sure that he wouldn't do this with a set and he was just raising to see cheaply if his small overpair is good.

2. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/174430
Poker is fun when you hit 6outers.

3. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/174432
Definitely my worst call ever. This hand happened after I stacked this guy with my set vs his TPTK just 3 minutes before. I was thinking that he might be tilting but his cold called must've been AK and TT+ I think. If he was the preflop raiser and I 3bet him and he called and pushed to my flop bet, then this call could've been better. But in this case it was simply retarded. What do you this is the correct play on this flop for me? Was betting out ok? If yes then should I bet less, more or was my bet ok? Meh, stupid me..

4. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/174440
I decided to just call on flop as there was no flush draw and I didn't want him to fold KJ KQ etc. Q wasn't a good card on turn but he folded to my bet (which put him allin) anyway. What do you think guys? Should I just push the flop? Villain was 44/0/3.25 after 25 hands.

5. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/174444
Here I had a feeling that he was making a play on me and went with my gut. What do you think about the way I played it (especially interested in opinions about my turn bet)?

6. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/174445
lol misclickaments. Meh, villain was a total fish with 60/10 type of stats and I had a terrible image and he was playing back at me loads so I could win a nice pot but somehow I pressed the wrong button :/

7. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/174448
bitch

8. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/174452
Bad image is gooot.

lol headsupaments
  SneakrFreakr, Apr 12 2007

So I had a decent session in the morning. Played for like 3,5hrs and made $220. I wasn't running hot or anything but I just wasn't getting any bad beats except for just one AA vs TT in 3bet pot that I lost (he flopped a set). Felt good about my game and was going to play another 3-4hr session in the evening but first I decided to warm-up on nl50 HU on UB and obviously I lost exactly what I won on 6max today thanks to hands like this:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/173433

I was planning to play 30-40 minutes only but ended up wasting 2,5hr there. I'm not in a mood to start a session on 6max now so I think I'll just go to bed early and get up tommorow and start pwning noobs on Party exclusively. I withdrew money from all other rooms except for Party and I'm gonna keep them on Neteller (and the rest on Party) as I don't want to be tempted by playing some HU or donkaments on other sites. I want to fully focus on 6max and finally move to nl200.

Here are my stats from today (I know, I played awfully nitty and omg my AF on flop was too high again ) and some hand histories:

1. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/173440
Valuetown

2. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/173441
It's good to get paid off when you've got quads.

3. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/173442
Meh, I don't think I like how I played it. Bet turn? As played call river?

4. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/173443
I hate these spots and have no idea how to play them. What's my plan now? Villain was 23/15/7 after only 90 hands.

5. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/173445
Too nitty? Villain was 21/18/7 after 80 hands or so.

6. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/173447
I don't like how I played it but luckily I still got his stack. Best option would be leading on turn probably. What you think guys?

That's it for now, time to watch some Rome and go to bed early and 100% focus on 6max Party tommorow. Holla

Private lesson
  SneakrFreakr, Apr 12 2007

So I had a private lesson yesterday w/ Andrew from CR (won it long time ago) and it was quite good. I was running superfuckinghot but only preflop. I was getting AK AQ AA KK QQ JJ all the fuckin time, only to get slapped in the face by every flop. Stuff like 4bet pot preflop, 3 way against 2 horrible fish, flop comes AQ9 all clubs and I don't have one etc. I picked up a few things from him, he also said that my went to showdown is a bit too low and that I should loosen up a bit from the big blind. We got some marginal spots, but we missed some situations that I wanted to know his opinion about, but in the end I was asking some questions and I pretty much got my anwsers. W played for like an hour and I ended losing $50 or so which is not too bad considering how terribly I was running postflop.

Hopefully I'll be running better today. I also need to start learning cause I spent maybe 15 minutes on it yesterday lol. But I've got time - over 3 weeks to the exam. Ezzy. Time to play some poker.

fkin sick!
  SneakrFreakr, Apr 11 2007

Ugh I can't remember when was the last time I was steaming because of poker but I am now. I had played decently all the time, was completely card dead, made some good reads and after 1k hands I was getting out of the red and was down only $17 and wanted to finish my session after an orbit or two and then bam! KK vs AA twice and flopped top set to flopped flush, ugh. And one of KK vs AA was against the same guy that I lost top set vs flush. Just sick. And everything happened in 5 mins. So I spewed all the profit that I earned playing some good poker yesterday in 20 hands or so. Well done. I know it's just tough luck but the most annoying thing is that I was about to finish my session. Here are these hands:

1. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/172547
In this one I actually think I could've folded - villain was like 17/13/1.4 after 100 hands and he wasn't getting out of line except for the hand where he 3bet me out of the blinds, I called w/ QQ on the button and pushed to his cbet on Q high flop and he folded. What you think guys?

2. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/172557

3. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/172549

Now I should start learning a bit but I'm quite pissed off so I'm not sure if I'll do so. I know I shouldn't be result oriented and it's just a bunch of coolers but I was starting to play better, running a bit better and thought I'll get back on track but not - party had to slap me right in the face. Ok enough of whining. It's not the first and not the last time it's happening (just the timing is terrible). Later on I'm going to have this private lesson thing with Andrew from CR - hopefully I'll be able to hear his voice today. Not sure if I'm gonna play anymore today cause I think my game might be affected by today session.

Oh and a sweet graph from today:
