Hey guys, I went through a big 18 month killin streak in mtts and had built my ego up so big it was pathetic.

it took months off of poker to realize how pathetic i was acting, to humble down and to re-learn cashgames. with the help of a great coach and LP, I am so happy you guys are responding and helping my games as well.

I just wanted to say thank you, and thanks for bearing with me when i went into an ego-maniac. Theres reasons, yet they are mute. You guys are a great community that has made me the player I am.

Really...I just didnt know how to handle success in MTTs and constanlty being owned in cash, it was this sick confliction in me, my competetive spirit and ego was causing so much confliction that I couldnt handle at those times, sadly.

SO yeah, Thank you very much for being there for me, I'll be posting a ton, and hope you guys can have time to give me a hand.

Just runnin 150 up on Hero in cashgames all month n see where I end up

Last night, my coach told me to play pure value poker. I played 18/14/2.5 and biggest lost pot was like .80. I'm going to continue to play like this for a good bit, adding in some stuff to own fish etc :-)

just day one, and just wanted to say ty, i know i've been a dick, a stoner who bashed ppl for fun, this was mostly my bitterness, for that i apologize.

GL LP and TY!
Ryan

I'm going to work on getting some mental overhauls to make sure i'm always happy

hey guys, after 4/15 i only had $2300. I lost that in Live Pokerz. =[

I have cashed out twice on Hero for rent money ($600 / $500), but have been extremely poor since 4/15.

I have 175 on Hero and just grinding it up with mostly cashgames and a few mtts.

Having to cashout 500 every 3-4 weeks when building up from a very small br has caused to be problematic, but shouldn't be a problem much longer, as I'm most likely moving so I can play on stars in the next 2 weeks - 2 months (grindhouse!)

GL everyone and thx for your criticism,
Ryan

sucks i dont have the $ anymore, you guys are so spot on. its def something you guys can laugh at, its something im working hard to fix, but hte mtt selection on hero is just terrible compared to stars.....

soon i can grind stars mtts again fulltime !!!

hopefully during this time between moving I can get very solid in 6max and have both games to make $ in, more boccia style, that'd make me really happy ;-)

I hope you arent practicing real BRM with your Hero money. With such a retarded bankroll you really should be taking shots. I mean honestly how hard can it be to replenish $200 or whatever.

There's a difference between taking shots with a 2k bankroll and with a 200 bankroll. Neilly was being greedy playing 2/4 HU or whatever in the past. But playing 1/2c is a serious waste of life EV with his experience.

you should now, you can't even beat 2nl, also it was 25/50 HU with like a 12k BR while he was in huge debt iirc.

sean i respect you way more than anyone on this site probably, all the help you gave me a couple years ago helped me a ton and was a huge boost of confidence.

anything you say i usually take as serious, where as trolls i usually have to take with a grain of salt

i know i made so many mistakes, was a drug addict galavanting around las vegas blowing thousands without thinking cause/effect

now all im working for is to get out of debt and get my life setup where i can grind stars again.

I had no common sense, luckily all my debts are to very good friends, and without being able to grind much since 4/15, everyones understanding.

When I'm grinding stars i make 10k a month and its ez game to pay off my debts, patience;

Did take me so long to grow up though

I am sure that over the last few years you could look through neilly's blog and find many many entries like this with comments like yours underneath. I mean I wish him all the best but a pattern is a pattern.

Researchers used brain scans to show that when straight men looked at pictures of women in bikinis, areas of the brain that normally light up in anticipation of using tools, like spanners and screwdrivers, were activated.

you talk about honesty, but you just keep responding with the same stuff

If you can make $120k/year easilly playing tournaments on stars - you can probably roll around vegas spending thousands without thinking too much.
If you can make $120k/year easilly playing tournaments on stars - you probably wouldnt be in debt that has existed for years
If you can make $120k/year easilly playing tournaments on stars - you wont be living off $500/month living day to day with a micro roll
If you can make $120k/year easilly playing tournaments on stars - you would probably have moved out of the country to continue playing or be grinding the live scene in Vegas.

Its just...

when you bank a mtt you go and announce that you are going to "rock" the city's nightlife (LA)....
and when you're flat broke you posting here saying you sorry and you're going to work on your game.

This has been going on for years now. Best thing you can do is quit poker and pick up a decent life. In the US you can make 100k a year easily with some lame job.

You've been posting here for nearly 4.5 years and continue to act as predicatively as a cosine function - poker is fun and I personally play now to supplement my income by playing live limit.

I think you should do the same.

Svenman87   United States. Aug 01 2011 20:33. Posts 4636

I feel like you go through the stages of grief/death like once a month.

Five Stages Of Grief

Denial and Isolation.
At first, we tend to deny the loss has taken place, and may withdraw from our usual social contacts. This stage may last a few moments, or longer.
Anger.
The grieving person may then be furious at the person who inflicted the hurt (even if she's dead), or at the world, for letting it happen. He may be angry with himself for letting the event take place, even if, realistically, nothing could have stopped it.
Bargaining.
Now the grieving person may make bargains with God, asking, "If I do this, will you take away the loss?"
Depression.
The person feels numb, although anger and sadness may remain underneath.
Acceptance.
This is when the anger, sadness and mourning have tapered off. The person simply accepts the reality of the loss.

It's not that, it's just people have to be honest with themselves. Personally for someone like neilly, who has had a taste of real money, and seen thousands of dollars in his poker account, I think grinding up from penny stakes would actually be worse for him. He'll just continue to yearn for more and talk himself into taking crazy shots he know he shouldnt be taking for the logic I outlined above, "because it's replenishable". I think if he played a limit he valued, with a meaningful bankroll that he didnt actually want to lose, it would help keep him focused. Seriously, ask yourself how hard you could try to beat NL2. I could probably prop bet you to play NL2 and you'd just buyout after a month because fuck it, thats why.

Neilly is on some euphoric high right now because he's been grinding well, or on a heater or something, and even at micro limits it makes you feel like you are determined and destined for greatness. But it will wear off eventually. I think any goal worth having is worth being a challenge. I just dont want to see him start grinding 4 tables of NL50 with his entire roll on the line, when he could legitimately play NL25 right now and stick with it for awhile and grind up to $600 or something and then play some NL50 and realize he can be happy making $1k/month before finally moving up even higher.

I dunno, I'm probably just projecting my own feelings, but regardless I wish him the best. I dont think he should worry about what people say in his blog. He's already bowing to pressure & apologizing for what he writes, like a bitch. You shouldnt really give a shit Neilly. Keep blogging, even if it's daily updates.

bye now

Neilly, seriously, why bother with cash games when you make money with MTT? It's honestly stupid. It's probably more worth it to go out and smell the roses than play cash games.
