You can get away with playing 4b/fold oop but in position you can and need to call more, if you play 4b/fold IP you are negating any postflop edge you have. Good hands to call with depend on the opponent, flatting KQ ip is good against almost everyone but the nittiest players. You can polarize your 4b range ip to hands you wanna stack off with and garbage u cant call with, to randomize it you can 4b bluff when u got AXo that not a broadway and something like K8,K9,K7 and the occasional suited gappers that you cant call with.Of course its situational and shouldnt be taken too literally but its a good way to look at it in general. Also you should focus a bit more on improving postflop and pay less attention to preflop, to get that WonWSF closer to 50 cuz I think 42 is too low.

first, thanks.

I will try to start calling ip more and see where it takes me

I am trying to 4bet more with choice hands as you outlined too.

i am in an identical situation as you actually (at some points). i have lost like 90% of br and keep thinking about my game what has happened that i am on 5-6 month lossing streak. i keep watching bunch of vids and constantly try to fix my leaks, but i think my games is quite fine to beat the stakes that i am currently am at, but i don't i keep losing and losing.
Lately i have been noticing that its not my game but actually my emotinoal state is the reasons behind all this. but breaks won't help if you will keep losin once you come back. we must get some winnings days to get the confidence back and get some motivation....

I guess I am just the most vocal cry baby

What you're saying about needing some winning sessions to regain confidence and such and such is definitely a thought I've been having this whole time too, but I dunno man for me its been a month+ and it hasn't happened for me (I think I've won 10% of my sessions or less(!) but I don't have my database from last month).. In any case I don't think its the way to think about it when you still actually need money..

I'm just going to try and put myself into a situation where I don't need money for a couple months (I'm lucky my family can still provide this) and see where it takes me..... I don't know if you guys can do something similar or not.. :/ I just can't get myself to play something like nl10 for a week to try and start booking winning sessions again when I still feel a pressing need for money.. but I think doing something like that would be best.

Is that sample ur last month? 8500 hands? You need to play more then.

I've been in ur situation 1000 times. And I will really need money and when I am running bad it's super depressing for me. I hate poker and I play less as a result. Then I wonder why I don't lose much when I don't put nearly the volume I should in.

Big winners play a ton. It's definitely my weakest point and something I have been trying to work on. I don't know if it is an issue with you but it will make winning at poker harder if it is.

i had savings for 10 month to sustain my life style. 5-6 passed and i havent cashed out a single dollar. Now i am depressed or whatever and i don't even give a fuck about losing now( Which obv is bad because leads to biggers loses : ( ) Now i am actually pissed off and scared that i won't be able to start winning but at the same time i feel like i did everything i could, but i still didn't start winning...
obv it depends on the person, perhaps playing without urge to win will help you

Call more 3bets. I used to think it was really bad to call 3bets, but I've re-evaluated itand it's not bad at all. My stat for calling 3bets is over 3x bigger than yours and I play FR.

This applies to everyone that's struggling in poker, but it's extremely important that if you're fixing leaks or trying to improve your overall game, it's not enough to just watch videos or occasionally MSN with some other people about certain hands. Videos have useful information, but it is very broad information and you really, REALLY need to refine it to work for you since every spot you get in is situational. I probably watch like 1 vid a month and I think I'm doing pretty well.

The other is like 90% of all poker talk is focused in big all-in pots, when that's usually going to be the smaller part of leaks you'll have to fix. What affects your winrate the most begins with the type of hands you decide to play preflop. Then your flop play. Then your turn play; THEN river. We spend too much time worrying about river play.

One of the best ways you can possibly improve your game is to look at a crapload of hands (cough PTR) of the biggest winners at or above your stakes and REALLY think about why they might have done that. Then apply.

no asdf I easily and usually put in 45-70k hands a month and play for 110-140 hours a month. this is the last week and I've been struggling to play at all because of pretty srs anxiety about playing plus I've been pretty sick for several days.. heh. I wish that was my problem.

I dunno anon I am not sure what my next couple of days, weeks, or the rest of this month is going to look like for me poker-wise.. but I'm sure I will blog about it (lol) and we can compare how each of us are feeling & playing and what each of us have done differently during the timeframe..

Are you playing 2-4 tables?
Do you think about all pots that happen on all tables (not only yours)?
Do you have a deep psychological profile on a fish to your right after 100+ hands?
Do you leave tables the second you get a loose player to your left and nits to your right?
Do you never stop scanning the site for better tables?
Do you switch poker sites depending on time in a day and softness of tables?
Are you playing only when you are 100% fit and maintain a lifestyle that leads to maximum alertness for long periods of time?
Do you take frequent brakes and review your sessions frequently?
Are you constantly searching for new concepts, watching new videos and refreshing your knowledge by reading articles?

I know now that when shit hits the fan, the last I thing want to I do is to maintain the 'Poker Pro' mindset, and I start crying over bad cards, and make whine posts.
So I play bad when I run bad and play good when I run good - and am break even in the longterm.

But I am not a poker pro. You are. There can't be any anxiety when you know you have done the best you can.
But ask yourself and answer honestly...have you, HAVE YOU? ;o

the best option is to postpone your poker career, pull yourself together at home. And never ever make yourself depend on poker income untill you are a NL1000 reg
