Cash game strategy got shit to do with tournament strategy. The closest concept they have in common is + ev.
6 max with antes is closest to mtt, or short stacking 6max with antes
fact of matter is, unlessyou are playing cash on super high level or 1 tabling or something. Cash game will make u a worse mtt player if u are not careful.
U are 100bb + deep in cash with no anntes and u can reload when lose. How the he'll does that help u with 10-40 bb poker w/ antes? |
wouldnt it help for the major events and every tourney with a slow structure. |

is it easier to transition from cash to tournaments
or from tournaments to cash?
I presume the former. |

Sng to mtt is easy transition. Sng easier than cash.
To just straight out mtt pro is not even possible unless u r a spirit or you box a tourney. Straight out cash is normal.
Cash players can't transition outright to mtt pro. They will get their soul broken most the time. Mtt pros are used to far worse variance can transitition to cash. |

but if you're a winning cash player it seems unlikely that you'd just quit cash games altogether to play MTTs, since most live events offer lucrative cash games.
If youre a winning cash-game player it seems unlikely youd choose to be an MTT pro. Since you already possess the ability to win in other games.
I agree that most people start with SnGs because they usually offer the most play per $ to a newbie player. |

All the World Champions like Jamie Gold, Doyle Brunson, Chris Moneymaker and Joe Cada play MTTs, who wouldn't be like one of them? |
