that's a valid point. the thing is i don't know what I'm going to do with my current pc. i was thinking about giving it to my parents to use, but I guess I could also just strip the mobo, gpu and cpu out of this one and use the rest.

ok so i put together a system (with the help of a friend. actually he did it all). unfortunately canadian prices aren't as cheap as US prices so it's a bit more than 600$. All together it comes up to $865 CAD with Windows7, shipping and tax.

dont get that motherboard, it's only DDR2 capable. Get one that supports DDR3. Which also means you need DDR3 memory. Radeon HD 4770 card is pure trash, dont even look at that. Gotta get at least a 4870. I dont think you will see any performance benefits with the Phenom X4 processor at all unless you specifically do video rendering.

I can also hook you up with Windows 7 if you want.

that would be awesome. I have the evaluation copy that they let people dl before they released it, but it's set to expire in March...

Will I be able to download windows updates and all that with your version?
