How is my line? What other lines should I consider and why are they good?

I'm looking for any advice on how to play 3 to a flush flops when I'm holding a set in general.

u must get it allin on the flop. i dont belive him if he has the flush + i have suckout value. dont let As draw to flush either.

oh didnt realise it was a limped pot... well u still need to play this aggressively, altho fold if u start getting lots of action. completing preflop is fine but i prefer to raise it up get the dead money and make flop easier to play

your equity with a set isn't that bad if he flopped a flush which i don't know if you know this but that's very hard to do

i decide what ur gonna do on the flop, either ship it or dont. But dont drag it out and try not to fail on turn river.

personally I like to checkraise that flop....prolly get it all in on the turn if he just flats for some odd reason...don't see myself not losing all my money if he has a flush...

You see...whenever I start feeling sick...I just stop being sick...and be awesome instead...true story...

Really hate this spot but I'd get it in on the flop everytime. As played, folding river is basically a must.

Thanks for the posts so far. I am looking for a little bit more insightful analysis.

I realize that my equity is very good (34%) or so vs a flush.

In a lot of situations I do get it in on the flop because most of the time they do not have a flush. They are drawing to an Ace or a King high flush with a pair. Playing the set passively could be a mistake because I'm forced to fold if another flush card hits the turn or river unless I have an iron clad read.

I could just call the flop raise and allow another card to hit the turn and if a non flush card hits I can c/r and get it in. However he could check behind.

This particular villain is very passive however so I decided to take a different line.

I did call the river. I didn't feel that it was a fold. With his over bet and other information it looked like he was trying to buy the pot.

He flipped over 8c9s

Does anyone have anything else to offer?

flop play is fine. You should bet the turn youself because ace high flush draws may check behind. If he raises your turn bet yet again you can safely fold. as played it really isn't that horrible at all.

the important thing to take from this hand is to not get married to the absolute strength of your hand. When you get it in with a set on 3flush boards in a pot where opponent could have anything, he is rarely ever going to play any hand fast unless hes got a flush. Even 2pair hands are looking to slow down (if they're competent).

You said that the villain is very passive, so you should be doing the betting and proceed with caution when he takes over the betting. Don't slow down for no reason. Your analysis of the hand seems to be very focused on your equity versus flopped flushes when you're ignoring the rest of his range which includes nut flush draws, kings, and 2pairs. You're ahead of all of those but behind flushes, so play like it.

i like your aggressive flop sizing, a hefty turn bet would be even sweeter

I like flop and turn is debatable. River I'm calling and taking a note.

On the flop you don't want to get it in since it's a limped pot and you have a strong but not nutted hand. Turn is so small so just call and hope to fill up and/or get it to showdown one way or the other. The river is as much retarded shit, bluffs, AsXx and such that you need to call anyway.

Surprised no one else has suggested it but why not raise to $1 pre-flop. I would think it's better than just limping.

The flop looks good to me but maybe re-raise the turn? And I think calling the river will be good in the long run, I kinda doubt he can have the flopped flush often.

against a normal opponent this is fine, but this guy is probably an enormous retard

this is bad imo
he ll be behind sooo much in the long run and when he d call for information he should be sure that he ll play many more hands with this dude
calling for information on micro stakes is a something unnecessary coz there are not many regulars like the limits ur playing
