It's not really a donation because I will pay it all back (plus whatever interest would have accumulated) and I have Korean parents. They spank and take away basic freedoms when I don't get over 90% averages. With this, I don't care if they abandon me, I'm just afraid of their disappointment.

Nobody is going to help you. Facing the consequences of your actions is probably a good thing as it might shock you out of that degening thing you have got going on. Your parents will be disapointed but thats life, just gotta go back from zero and grind that trust back

Just tell your parents what's up, if they find out another way it will be 10x worse. Just tell them what happened, that you've locked your FTP-account, it's done and over with. That you understand how big of a mistake you've made and that you're ready to face the consequences, you'll work off the debt and hopefully they can loan you money to pay the debt.

Basically taking responsibility and not fleeing.

If you came from TL, why didn't you ask for help with your game before you dropped 10k? This is probably the best place to learn how to play profitable poker on the net. (This is a serious question, I never get why TL people don't use this resource, it's free money)

Edwin, what others have said. There isn´t really anything else you can do. Man up and talk to your parents. they will be pissed and dissapointed, that sucks, but nothing else you can do really. Nobody will give you that kind of cash. You will have to learn to take responsability, cause this will not be the last time you gonna run into shit in your life. I bet your parents have fucked up too in their lives. You just don´t know about that.

This is fucking hilarious. I went nearly $5k in the hole before coming to this site. However, I had a job and worked my ass off for that $5k. Trust me ... it is a little more sickening to have worked 40 hours a week for months for money that you just blew than to have lost it on a credit card. Along with locking your FTP account do your self a favor and cut up your visa as well.

I agree with what some people have commented on already. You have been probably reading LP.net for a while and probably not posting a lot but still haven't learned anything before you found yourself 10K in the hole? You might as well tell them asap because if they look at the VISA statement and find out it'll be 100x worst for you. It's not life and death but it's about you losing all credibility with your family and putting a huge burden on them.

If this was your last ditch effort then you need to tell them the truth and get a job asap.

That being said I don't see how your parents need be involved? It is your Visa card. Get a job and start paying it down as fast as possible. If you actually win that little dance tournament thing then your debt is already half gone.

If they find out about it be honest. If you can't fathom paying it off without their help be honest. Otherwise just man-up and take care of it yourself. Something tells me this isn't the first time this has happened with you.
