i used to totally look up to people like agent911, pillars and grrrr.

the highlight of my sc life was that i was allowed to play in an invitation only 2v2 tournament and won the first round, played in the 2nd round vs ssamjang and bblade)leader and got TOTALLY destroyed by them, but invited leader to join our clan in addition to his and he accepted. we got to play a ton of games vs him (i even won one with a 3 hatch ling rush when he was teching). to me, he was god and i'm surprised pillars did not mention bblade leader since he was one of the first korean pro gamers (his partner ssamjang also had skill but i believe there was some maphacking scandal with him).

i also remember bblade leader training some girl as his protege and she whipped my ass. that was back in the day when he was doing stuff to me that i never saw b4 like using the peon to harrass your workers or floating the engineering bay as a scout.

man those were the days.

(i also tried playing in wcg canada and unfortunately had to play smuft in the first round. he built a pylon right in my mineral line and trapped 2-3 of my probes and continued to press me with zealots and i couldn't keep up because i was behind on money. i never saw that before. i was mad b/c he was a much better player than me so why did he have to resort to something gimmicky)

I do remember bblade)leader, though I'm more familiar with ssamjang. Ssamjang was probably the most recognizable gamer in Korea when we first arrived; he had just finished playing a cameo role in a popular Korean movie!

I'm currently playing 2/4 and 3/6 NLHE on Pokerstars, mostly short-handed. I do alright for myself, but I think I lack a love / enjoyment for the game which is necessary to continue climbing the ranks.
