For what it's worth, and having played you on FTP a few times and think you play well, my analysis would be:
- when you lose big pots you often have strong hand
- in the long run, in those situations, do you lose more than you win ? ie are you just having a bad short term fluctuation, or not ? I would guess not
- you are therefore overvaluing your big, but not nuts, hands, given the action you are getting
Suggested solution:
- as you probably already do, put your opponent on a range of hands given the action you are getting, BUT assign greater probability than you do at present to the hands that beat you (depending, of course, on your assessment of your opponent's playing style)
- this should result in more folds
- contrary to conventional wisdon, you might find this easier to do at higher levels, because your opponents are less likely to be donks
Another approach:
- play in such a way as to trade off variance with expected profit
- not the way to make most money long term, but if your bankroll is under pressure, you might prefer it
Lastly, don't give up hope !
