It was less of a gamble than you think it was..

I had been on the table for about an hour so had a pretty good feel anyway. Let me try to explain my thought process for this move..
The game is almost 3 handed preflop hand selection regarding my style of play, I don't count the shortstacks because they folded preflop, secondly their range of playable hands is fixed in my eyes so im thinking 3 handed here.

Throught out the game CTS has put alot of pressure on me.. preflop especially since I open-raise utg more than I open-raise on the button.. twice I have made squeeze plays UTG only to find a push from him on the button.. he knows im taking a shot at this game/says im a donk.. so he knows he can push me out of more hands then normal.

Also I know in general and from what I have seen in this game is he has been playing alot of hands and playing them aggressively (pot bets on all streets vs me) I bluffed him twice in reraised pots before this w/o showdown and hes caught me bluffing once on the river.. we've had alot of aggressive action between us..

88 is a huge hand esp 3 handed.. its normal to reraise any pair preflop like this.. always get it HU.. but to be honest after I have been sitting for a while and 1 tabling I got a good feel for everyone at the table.. the button flat calls.. theres a good chance he had some of CTS's outs because he has only been flat calling CTS preflop raises' with big hands.. (as he was only 3 betting me preflop)..

So CTS reraised me just over minimum.. Im pretty sure from the feel of the game he would have raised more with a big overpair.. if im going to push TT/JJ/QQ here as well vs AK... its pretty much the same situation with a pair of 8s.. and just as I read correctly he did have AK... and if you think its a fluke/gamble me reading that he held AK.. you really should check my hand histories more because I make these reads day in day out..

You cant let people bully you in NL cash games.. I made a stand with my hand and I was confident I had the best of it.. trust me it wasn't just "lets just push all in" and hope lol

Remember when taking a shot the best way to play is super aggressive and fearless and waiting for the moment to get your stack in

u can't say he has 100% certainty AK.. there is a chance he has a pp and if so he has u beat
i just wonder why gamble on a 30k + pot , specially when u play normally 5/10


but i guess my argument doesn't make sense as you are already taking a shot, might as well right?

lol cts has either ak or has me beat.. thats is so not true..
the way he is playing he could do that vs air vs me only.. not vs any of the other regulars on the table...

2 options here are push or fold..

yeah im not gona take a shot and play passive weak tight poker.. im gona play agg and for the big pots imo.. and ive taken shots before so i know how to play but thanks for your opinion

How can it be wrong to want to discuss what someone do? I didnt do it in any dismanner, i made a question mark after my statement because i wanted f4zis opinion on it, which a got (a pretty good one as well).

If you lost that hand it wouldnt be discussed here.
