Jingliang is always overlooked. He's solid everywhere, but not elite anywhere.

Chinaev has had a lengthy layoff due to Covid. He also hasn't fought anyone good yet, which means he hasn't been tested. Covid affects UFC fighters differently, so while you think Chimaev should dominate Jingliang, I'd suggest not putting him in any parlays.

Hey PR, long time no speak, hope you're well.

When you write your first impressions you are simply writing who you expect to win the fight right? No consideration for odds or who is a good bet at that point? How come you're feeling Sandhagen vs Yan? Would like to hear some reasons for that one

• When you write your first impressions you are simply writing who you expect to win the fight right? = It's my quick pick of who I think will win the fight without doing any research. I used to wright my final thoughts and picks right before each UFC event started, but I got lazy with that.
• No consideration for odds or who is a good bet at that point? = I don't look at the odds until after I post my first impression of the fight.
• How come you're feeling Sandhagen vs Yan? = Cory has the height, reach, varied striking technique, striking output, and BJJ advantage. Cory also has a good chin and switches stance, and this will be in the big cage, so his movement will be a big advantage here as long as he keeps it up. Petr has good boxing and underrated wrestling and good striking output. I am worried that Petr might use his wrestling here, but I also think he fights to the style of his opponent and might not use his wrestling much here unless he feels threatened on the feet. Cory was at +210, now he's at +175. Hard to bet on Petr here when I think the fight is much closer than the odds suggest, and I even favor Cory a little bit here.

I do think Petr vs. Cory goes to a decision most of the time here.

Petr decision +168
Cory decision +385

just accelerate chimaev to burns/luque and title shot immediately after. No point letting this talent go to waste against bads.

As long as he stays healthy, he'll get a fast push.

Dana White kept threatening Leon Edwards to fight Chimaev, and he eventually accepted, then Chimaev got Covid. Leon was a Top 3-5 fighter at the time or something.

Fun fight. I had it 4-1 for Petr Yan.

After Round 1, Cory didn't look the same. He didn't even throw many kicks -- iirc, he threw 1-2 in R1, then waited until R5 to throw kicks again. Kicks were successful for Aldo against Yan, so I'm surprised Cory didn't use more kicks in this fight to slow down the aggressive boxer.

Weird performance from Jan.

Glover reached for his neck, then Jan put his hand up, then he put his hand back down, then Glover locked in the choke and Jan INSTANTLY tapped.
