I consume animal products. Loco was right. I can't sustain it. I had a donut with coffee this morning and it was great. English muffin with cream cheese. Pancakes. Ice cream. Cheese.

At least I am making strides with toiletries and clothing. I think I am running at 100% in those areas. I am still wearing leather belts because they are durable and last along time but I won't be purchasing anything leather hopefully ever again.

I have been going to AA meetings again just to get out of the house. They are ok. They are probably a good thing for my sanity especially if I see some friends.

I just saw a pre-workout drink marketed towards women. I just had an idea to start using products marketed towards women just to fucking do it. This product actually seemed just as decent as anything else. 100mg caffeine and 25g protein. It's probably whey protein however and I'd rather be on pea protein. I probably shouldn't be using any of the products marketed on an NFL show my dad left on if I can help it.

What would my blog be without some music?

Nitewin, I sat at the bar and ate lunch the other day by myself. It can feel a little awkward at times but at the end of the day it doesn't matter. I realize I don't even know if you like drinking. The thing is the bartender is typically very attuned to what is going on and they can lead the way.

Here is a great lasagna recipe

Tradition vs. Progression

I don't know if I have anything to say here it's just something that has been rattling around in my brain. I like my pancakes as simple as possible. I like my Italian food as simple as possible. Would it be so bad to have the church in the center of the town and family values being stressed? What if it was a progressive Unitarian type of church? What if it was a university with a strong philosophy department? What if it was a library?

There is a lot of wisdom coming from the Greeks. Hell, there is a lot of wisdom coming from the anarchic tribes of yestermillenia. There is a lot of facets of tradition that are problematic however. Racism, homophobia, sexism, animal rights, et al. Christianity is extremely problematic even though Jesus is a savior. Marriage and having children I am unsure on. The USA constitution was written by a bunch of rich, white males.

Hmmmm....

I am supposed to be this intersectional anti-capitalist yet I spend my time eating chicken wings, club sandwiches, and jerking off to my goddesses Lena Paul and Gabbie Carter. They were even in a porn together. Pretty haute. I really like porn but I really hate porn. Forgive me Father for I have sinned. Who's really going for top Christianity points as the Catholic Church defines??????????? When I actually stop and think about consuming animal products it hurts my soul though. I am just so addicted to the dopamine hit. Plants don't have the same punch. Leather is really quite alluring too. I am fucked up. The whole system has fucked me up. Society has fucked me up. One good thing about wearing vegan clothing is no one will ever be wearing the same thing as me. If we are that is just pretty cool. At least we aren't fucking Nike slaves.

drone666, I think some of your comments have helped me. I am going out more. Albeit it's just to AA meetings but I am re-connecting with friends and meeting new people. It's better than being sequestered in my room.

I don't think those that try to hold themselves to higher moral standards and fail to live up to them are big hypocrites really. Of course, it's better to be completely virtuous but then your basically the perfect human, i don't know anyone in the world like that.

Who's the hypocrite, someone who owns slaves and is vocal against slavery or someone that isn't vocal against slavery, and owns them. yet is quick to judge slaves for their crimes while ignoring their own?

Similary if you just drink milk and arn't opposed to meat production, you can't be called a hypocrite. but there is the factor of not considering arguments from vegans, which is a far greater moral error.

Imo your not much of a hypocrite compared to most people, is what im saying.

I remember hanging out in the summer with some radical anarchist dudes who were acting as if them being on vacation was a violation of their fight against the system lol
I don't think you'd want to be that type of zealot either, it's definitely not mind expanding to say the least

Whoah, a shout out to me!

That's funny. A lot of things that I used to think are awkward don't even strike me as awkward anymore, like eating lunch alone.

I only drink socially or as an art like tasting. Don't like poisoning myself for the fuck of it.

That's good. That is the best way to drink. I mentioned it because I have mentioned multiple times now about going to bars and establishing yourself socially and I didn't even know if you liked to drink or if you would be interested in that. If you like tasting bourbon for example that can be a conversation starter with the bar tender. A good bar will have all the liquor showcased and in the downtime you can just liquor watch and ask questions and taste bourbon instead of being on your phone. Being on your phone is like the plague if you are trying to meet people and be social. God I used to love bourbon. Same goes for cognac, tequila, vodka. Whatever floats your boat. Wine bars are great as well. Lounges if that's your thing. I always thought those were better for dates or with certain groups of friends. I am living vicariously through you man. I always tried to get things right in this regard and I did some of the time and I think I still hold on to that like it's somehow possible for me to drink like a gentleman but that ship has sailed for me but I do have a lot of experience in this area that I am trying to pass down to you so you can meet people and be happier and live a better life. But now I must go to an AA meeting. That is my path. Not to the fun quarky dive'ish bar to taste bourbons. I must help the others that tried and failed in the drinking game.

Mexie, aprivelegedvegan, Loco, Russell Brand come to mind that seem like they are quite virtuous. They certainly aren't perfect humans but they just seem to do the right thing a lot. Like, there are certainly people who exist who are doing the right thing a very large % of the time. You basically have to be vegan to be in this group. Have you seen Earthlings or Dominion?

It could be a violation. But I love vacations. This is what I have been wrestling with. I want a Church or an education center in the center of my town. They can learn about logos and the Stoics as well as Jesus and the Gospels. The Buddha and the Existentialists. I don't know enough about Islam but there is probably some stuff there and anyone can pick whatever else philosophy but I will just pick Nietzsche because that is who was on my mind. Hell, we can all do ecstasy and dance to dance music and then listen to lectures by Erich Fromm on love. I actually love my family. I like being around them in the right doses. I mean I live with my parents and am not that pissed off about it. I would love to be closer to my brothers and sisters. I value our time together. I just don't think I'm that radical. I'm 35. I don't want to be out in Hong Kong dodging bullets throwing molotov cocktails at armored vehicles. But it is important to me to change the world for the better in whatever ways I can. It's probably more important to me to be kind to people but the two run together.

I havn't seen those movies, i have read plato stanford page on moral veganism, and the arguments there seemed pretty good. They are made by philosophers who are trained in rational argument, so no suprise there. In general i try to stay away from 'arguments' made with any sort of imagrey. Thing's like movies, meme's or anything like that i try to stay away from since they are a terrible medium for arguments.

I don't really have as much sympathy towards animal suffering as most people, but the arguments for veganism are strong and you dont need to care about animals to be convinced by them.

All vegans are hypocrites, well almost.
well those that preach and are willing to eat grains and soy and aren't e.g. doing their own foraging (they do exist)

They cry rivers about cows being continually raped for milk and how you need to be kind
But eat grains that started the agricultural revolution and lead to literal obliteration of most of earth's forests and countless species?

I think agreeing that we are all hypocrites is a good start
And then try to lead by values and leading by example of doing a little bit less excessive every day.

And come on of course they are hypocrites Stroggos,
"the practice of claiming to have higher standards or more noble beliefs than is the case."

Such as saying you care about the planet and animals yet openly consuming soy and grains

or e.g. I see my friends being appalled by the governments in the Amazon allowing burning of forests when their own society has been built on exactly that. (FYI I think there should be some sort of economical incentive from other countries for less developed ones for not using the resources they have available)

Im wondering if you've ever seen a farm.

It's a pretty stupid argument and misrepresentation of vegans imo. You can have agriculture without leading to mass deforestation and species extinction. There are different methods of farming. Most third world farmers promote agro ecology, which is farming that takes ecology into account when farming.

Cutting down on meat production does a hell of a lot to cut down on agriculture for obvious reasons..animals need to be fed grains, they need to be stored on land, ect. I have been sympathetic to veganism largely off this extremely strong point, that with less animals there is less agriculture in general, it is very good for the environment in many ways.

Secondly, what are you implying here? that we should just get rid of agriculture and go back to gathering berries, fruit and nuts when there are 7 billion people on the planet? This would lead to a mass famine and billions of people would die of starvation, and all the animals in captivity would die from starvation as well.

I'm criticising people that preach holier than though onto others
There's always more you can do
your choices are yours and you can lead by example

when I see Dnegs VEGAN as if it defines and how he scolds meat eaters it's so cringy

Yes it would and there are many humane, solutions for decreasing population that many women would happily consent to.
