any waiter who expects a tip is a POS they took an oath to serve food

It seems to be not very profitable in the long run to play those kind of hands. - Gus Hansen

Agree with everything baal said. Doctor is delusion if he thinks a flight attendant asking for a doctor on board enters him into a contract with the airline for his services. He probably knows he has no legal grounds to stand on which is why he's going through social media to wring a few bucks out of the airline. Airline should have been nice and given him a free flight voucher or something for his trouble but I don't think they are obligated to do that.

Also let's not pretend like the selfish cunt wanted to be part of an emergency landing any more than the airline. He was already compensated by not having to land in some shit city and spend the night in some shit hotel while he waits to catch a flight the next day to his actual destination. That's your compensation.

The doctor is a greedy fuck. You went into a profession to help save lives. This air passenger didnt try to have a heart attack. You going to sit there and watch him/her die? Its a clear moral obligation to assist. Demanding financial compensation in an emergency and unexpected situation on a plane is a dick move. Bunch of greedy fucks these days living their lives with no morals on how to be a good human being.

Tons of doctors did not go into their profession to save lives. Some, just like many others, just fell into because they thought they'd be good at it and there was nothing else pulling them in an urgent direction. Others went into it purely for money. In fact, more often than not these days, I leave a doctor's office with the distinct feeling that they were almost as much of a business person instead of just purely being a doctor. It's a shitty state of affairs. Both individually if you're unlucky or haven't done enough research and also just from a general moral standpoint. But unfortunately skewing heavily towards regularity in certain areas in today's world.

In this case, I'm of the opinion that both are being stupid. If the airline really didn't offer any compensation at least in the form of vouchers or what not, which is obviously incredibly easy for any airline to do, they're being shitty and really stupid for turning down a bit of advertising/good will and risking a customer relations problem. However, if the doctor is asking for cash payment for his 'service' after the fact, giving in in that way would set a pretty bad and easily abused precedent. The doctor is being a bit petty but he would just be the tip of the iceberg

The thing is, ofc its a no brainer to save a life, he did.
To the airline it should be a no brainer to award the guy.....

You are calling this guy a cunt, yet he saved a life?

I kinda agree with this post, but at the same time its a tough question.

If some dude has a hearth attack on the street, of course a doctor is gonna save him, and i doubt he will ask for money.
If the same scenario happens in a bus, is the doctor gonna charge the bus company? What about in a restaurant? Seems to be in most scenario the answer is no.

At the same time, i feel like the company should at least give the dude some sort of compensation. If any other sort of problem happened in the plane and some client helped fix it, i doubt they wouldn't compensate him.
