Of course not, if you actually read what i said you will see that i wrote that the US (along with saudi arabia) supported the mujahideen in the 80's, well known radicals. It has grown more radical over recent history, we know that al qeada rejected the founder of ISIS, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi because he was too extreme for them. The extremism has grown more violent since the 1950's where it grew out of Sayyid Qutb from the muslim brotherhood, who was radicalized after being tortured by the CIA. As for ancient history, i won't argue much with that, though i am not well read on the ottoman empire, it wouldn't suprise me what you say, since virtually every empire commits similar cruelties. But i was talking about contemporary history when i said 'over the years', just to clarify.

Again, let me reiterate. We can learn from these events and blindly hate extremist islam, which yes, is violent. Or we can focus on our own crimes and see we are largely the cause of this problem up until the present day. It really shouldn't be hard for us to cease being hypocrites.

i meant the extremist elements, qutibsm, al Qaeda and ISIS. Each more radical than the past, and more violent. They have grown and spread over the world. No scholar denies this weather they are a syrian historian or an apologist for western imperialism in the university.

There are power systems, religions and so on that have become more violent. Could go into examples, like the fact that an average Indian far worse off economically in 1940 than in any period after the neolithic era, according to economist amaryta sen. Human rights doesn't progress in a straight line over history, sometimes there is regression, and bumps in the road. Feminists are hardly violent. Tell me who have they killed?
