2016 NBA Playoffs Thread

Thoughts and predictions? I'm thinking whoever comes out of west will take the chip. Cavs playing great but the competition just not the same and they will be in for a wakeup call.

Western Conference:

GSW (73-9) vs OKC (55-27)

Eastern Conference:

CLE (57–25) vs TOR (56–26)

ugly 2nd half from the warriors and a bad loss in game 1. not sure what draymond was doing much of the time

curry needed to be more selfish. I can live with klay shooting around same volume as him but draymond 20 shot attempts when curry has 22? I missed 3rd qtr but damn westbrook went to the line a lot, dunno what happened there but if they can turn westbrick into a shooter w/o fouling then they win this game easy.

That first game with OKC & GSW felt like it was on the verge of a blowout for so many moments though. Russ & KD just kept nailing big shot after big shot to stay in it. Then the last quarter GS only scores something like 19 points? That hardly ever happens.

I think OKC will for sure get one at home but I honestly wouldn't be shocked if GS just crushes the rest of the series and ends it in 6

Cavs series isn't even worth talking about. It's going to be a sweep.

I think Thunder have it actually. It's their length and the rebounds. Warriors hardly have a counter, when they don't shoot superbly and Thunder shoot poor.

Yea Minsk dubs are in trouble. Doesn't help they have played terribly in losses but credit to thunder. Turnovers, rebounds, free throws are killing us

Adams has improved to be a very very good center. Throw in Kanter, Durant, Ibaka, and Collison, those are all mountains, except Collison. And you have .. .. Bogut, to stop them all.

This is my third team during the playoffs. I min cashed in the first one, lost the second one. Didn't have any time to follow the playoffs before a few days ago.

Regarding G3 between the Warriors/Thunder: GSW couldn't make any baskets, but the Thunder were also playing good. This is gonna be a fast series if GSW can't make any of the baskets they usually make.

Crazy how Toronto was up by 18 points, then find themselves down by 3 points with 6 minutes left in the 4th quarter.


Edit: Nice comeback by Toronto to win the game by 6 points. The series is now tied at 2-2.

Hopefully the GSW win tomorrow so both series can be 2-2.

Min cashed with this team. Cory Joseph didn't score as much as I expected him to. Other than that, my other 7 guys did pretty good.

The Warriors are still playing like shit. Glad I made the right choice to avoid stacking my teams with GSW in the 4th game.

I never would've thought I'd watch this series and think to myself, "the Warriors have just been figured out" but that's exactly what I've thought while watching those last two blowouts

It's hard to diagnose what is exactly is wrong with them. Steve Kerr hasn't done a very good job coaching wise this series and I think he's made a lot of panic'y type lineup adjustments like playing Varejo extended mins, going big when OKC goes small and visa versa. Something seems wrong with Steph also. He acts like he's just really gassed and/or hurt. He's been super hesitant in a lot of situations to take shots he normally just fires away.

OKC's defense has been incredible and probably the biggest factor in the whole series. Steven Adams is establishing himself as one of the elite defensive bigs in the game now and it's a big part of why they can switch everything on D (which no one ever tried doing in the regular season vs them)

I think this is OKC's year. I don't think Cleveland is good enough defensively to slow down Russ & KD both. Russ especially is going to be a major problem for Kyrie (who has always been a pretty shitty defender)

I have no explanation for the Raptors btw....lol

I used to hate on RW earlier/before the days of 538 carmelo. damn was I wrong about him the guy is an absolute monster.

The CAVS started the 4th quarter with a 40-point lead in Game 5. All of the starters sat down for both teams, which means that anyone with a Raptors player in their fantasy team will do bad for the most part.

The Raptors scored 34 points in the first half of Game 5... Kevin Love woke up and was the star of the game, while only playing 23 minutes.

He was on Bill Simmons' podcast today. Pretty funny that even a guy as intelligent as he is can be so wrong about a series. He admittedly said that he thought OKC had no chance vs GSW and that Billy Donavon was an awful coach. Basketball is a tough sport to analyze sometimes -_-

series line did open at -460 GS or something like that. I wasn't that confident and didnt bet it even though i am from the bay, i did think the warriors would win though. Need a miracle now. I think GS can win the next home game but most likely lose 4-2 in OKC. The could also just be soulcrushed and go out next game. wouldnt be shocked. RWB has been dominating curry or something

There are a bunch of people who are tied for 1st place with 288.25 points and 1 guy left on their team. That 1 guy left on their team only costs $2700 or less, so he can't be good.

I basically need to figure out if I should leave Lowry in both teams; remove Lowry from 1 team and add Irving in his place; or remove Lowry from both teams and add Irving to both teams.

Now that Valanciunas is healthy and had his "test run" yesterday, I think he'll regain his starting position in the next game, especially since Biyombo got exposed on the road.

The fantasy events for May 27-28 should be up soon.

Edit: my teams won't win, but hopefully I can min cash. Anyone who had Durant and Bogut got an easy 100 points, so that sucks for me.

and OKC still had a shot to cut it to 3 towards the end there. My gut says OKC closes it out at home in G6

Toronto just got raped in Game 6.

Lowry did his thing, but it's hard to win a game when there's only 2 guys on your team who are making an impact.

when dubs started making run okc starts fingerpointing and they were only down by 4. I seriously dont get this team. They got height and more athleticism but they cant seem to put it together. OKC gave up at so many diff points in the game, dint look like they wanted to be there. Good riddance, now it's time for lebron's reality check

The Cavs were attempting to hide Kyrie on him defensively early in the game. Golden State exploited the fuck out of Kyrie the entire game.

I'm not sure how this is the nba's fault. Draymond clearly at fault here, obviously a flagrant foul. It'seems his fault plain and simple.

Lebron initiated the whole thing, you could argue that he just flailed his arm out of disgust he didn't even nearly have a closed fist. If anything fines should've been given to both and nothing else. I'm not a fan of either team but it's gross how obvious the NBA is helping extend the series.

i was thinking more so along the lines of curry being the biggest joke of an MVP. 17 points in the most important game of the series, shooting 30%. for a player that relies almost entirely on shooting (and basically average everything else), that is absolutely pathetic.
