Wow... I didn't realize Paulo Thiago is 2-6 in his last 8 UFC fights. He seems to win 1 fight and then lose 2 fights, win 1 fight, then lose 2 fights. He'd need to win this fight to keep his job.

Good composure from Doane in round 1. He should be able to win the next 2 rounds if he's careful. Alcantara will slow down by the end of round 2.
Hard to say how this will be scored. Doane spent a lot of time on top, but he didn't do much damage the entire fight. The only way he'll get the win is if all those take downs actually mean something with not much damage done afterward.
29-28 across the board for Alcantara. Doane didn't do enough damage, which meant Alcantara never had to expend much energy and thus never slowed down like he usually does. |
