no, this is good. There is no logic in c/c river, it is the worst of all possible options - the way the hand played he can't really have bluffing range that won't have a pair to check behind with.

Bet more on the flop and turn. I think the river bet is fine - so many times he will check back with worse Q, random J and you lose value. If you c/c you lose the same or more if he is ahead (he will rarely bet worse), whereas you lose value so often when he checks back.

k thanks. i knew i couldn't really be ahead but i didnt know if i could have brought about a better situation

Plus if you check he will rarely bet worse - so if you check you should really c/f, which sucks.
