Ok I believed he was perfectly capable of that raise on flop with overcards, and I knew he ALWAYS shuts down at turn when he even C/bets the flop, not to say in 3bet pots

Anybody else calling there to see the turn?

just flat flop wtf, and theres a very small chance he has 9x here, if u call flop and turn blanks why are you folding?

Just remember you need to be god damn sure about their tendencies. -Artanis11 http://www.pocketfives.com/profiles/neillyaa/

Yeah I always call small PP, Just read in the forum started by genjix that 3Betting Pockets in BLinds is profitable for some people.

And as you can see I had no clue how to play it as I have never been in such spot before :o

the 3bet preflop is fine, although i'd like a flat with 77 more. I like 3betting with pp up to 66 better, 77 flops well enough to just flat imo. Bet $4 on the flop and without any strong read you have to let it go when he rr.

So what is the reasoning behind raising Small PP?

Because its hard to play them oop withoout aggression and too good to fold?

And I had the read, but not too strong. He was raising flops but never bluffing turn so I hoped he would flat if he had overcards and I could take the pot passively from there... too bold assumptions? :o

the only time u should be frequently 3betting pocket pairs lower than like.. 99 is if u expect villain is going to 4bet bluff alot and then u can shove over, thats kind of thinking a few steps ahead, and im assuming nobody at nl25 4bet bluffs you with enough frequency for this to be true

they're pretty easy to play against bad players oop if u flat, i mean, like u said, villains are stupid and cant barrel you off it and you can just call 1 or 2 bets and get to show down easily

It's not wrong to just fold them preflop, but imo they're the perfect hands to 3bet light with.

You'll just take down the pot preflop alot, when you don't, you'll take it down with the cbet alot. And if you get called or raised you'll never be in a tough spot, you either have a set or an easy fold.

Edit: I'm talking about 22-66.

Bet 4.5/5$ on flop if u cbet, at nl25 they really think u re weak when u bet weak. Also this hand is really villain dependent imo, if he s aggro then u gonna get check/raised a fair amount of the time on that flop, i d rather check behind vs aggrotard and take control on turn. Also when genjix said it was profitable it really depends on the table dynamics/villains dont make it automatically to 3bet pps or any half decent players are gonna put you in tough spots postflop and stomp on you.

Odds are exactly 50%: it either happens or not
