Just to help you out, this can be avoided by betting more I think. The 5xBB raise preflop often attracts bigger hands including slowplays from shortstacks, if you bet more on the flop you can narrow him down to basically 4 hands: A8 / 78 etc, AK, KK, or a flush draw.

Betting small keeps you in the dark and gives people good odds to draw, whats the point?
