What do you do when you don't know how to play

a hand in a tournament?

Holy shit, this has never happened to me before in my over 1/2 million hands in poker:
Anyways I had a wrap in plo and some guy shoved all in with 4 people waiting to act after the shove (was in position.)

I called out of frustration with the logic being you can't win if you always fold, and if the other players fold (lol fuck me this is omaha) the dead money will be worth it.
Turns out 1 other person called with the same exact hand as I do and I have 20% equity for a tie. I don't cash even though I was 3 away from it and I'm just sitting there thinking I'm the biggest retard in the world.

Was wondering how you guys deal with being retards, or do you just fold when you get into uncomfortable spots w/e.?

in tourneys, in spots like that...unless im very sure im ahead, or there is just soooo much dead money in the pot and i have great EV, i'd just fold.

think about it...bust at that moment, its a big waste of time. wait one or two more hands to get into the money, its all profit....

thats why the money bubble is so fun to play. some people turn into the biggest nits on the planet (if you ever watch WSOP you see people folding KK face up...lol) and then you see people open up a bit and try to abuse the nits.

my advice would be to just stay solid, wait till you are in the money, and then run over them

12 dead bbs in a 80bb pot :|
if all four people folded and the 3rd player also wasn't lagtarded it would be
15 dead bbs in a 60bb pot :|

I know if this was a cash game this would be completely fine, but I mean it's a fucking tournament. And I knew it was a tournament so I had two conflicting sides of me driving me fucking nuts.

Ahwellz it's just about a few hundred dollars of mistake. It's not like like I lost the WSOP.

I close my eyes and randomly click buttons

Odds are exactly 50%: it either happens or not

I'm not a tournament expert but here's my take:

1) Bubble play allows you to be aggro and pick up chips from the weaker players that are worried about busting out. I'm not sure, but I think it's correct to fold AA on the bubble in a NLHE tourney for all your chips(someone correct me if I'm wrong please). In a PLO tourney, I'm pretty sure you should be folding every hand if it puts you Allin or close to it on the bubble.

2) Just because one opponent turned up the same hand doesn't mean it was necessarily a bad play. It was probably a great call in a vacuum.

fuck the bubble. If you're not first, you're last.
