Played some cash games today and on the wrong side of variance. So, this made me quite happy. Its not much, but it is one hella cheap way into the tourney and for a guy like me with $1400 bankroll, I am quite excited

I think the +EV decision for now (for you) is to sell the T$ and be happy you made bad variance back

Edit: I would do the same ofc, I didn't mean to be condescending.

My favourite line is Bet/Fold. I bet, you fold.Last edit: 04/07/2009 15:34

How you want it, bars or bullets?

Why would I not play in it? I play alot of MTTs and SnGs, so it is not like im a complete idiot. Buy in fee of 500 FPP for Sunday Million? That is +EV. 500 FPP is nothing. And to top it off, its the weekend when the WSOP ME is on, so I would have to say the field could be a little bit smaller.

215 bucks > very small % of ROI.

Your choice though.

Gonna have to agree, sell the T$ and increase the bankroll unless you really feel like gambling.

Take a shot!! It's not like $215 is going to help you move up a level in stakes... Good luck, keep us posted with results

lol its pretty irrational how so many players treat money won in a satellite where you arent obligated to play the target tournament any different to money won in any normal cash-buyin cash-prize games. you now have a $1615 roll and are about to pay 215$ of it to take a shot at a massive field massive variance donkament. aggressive bankroll management when done right is definitely the way to make the most money but theres no way this is close to an optimal decision. look up the basics of kelly criterion yo

wat? you realise his roll is $1400 + 215 right? how is a 14% bankroll boost not significant?

The reason I played the satellite was to win a seat for the million and play that. To not play it, would go against the very goal. I played one before this and came 2nd. I can totally understand your logic, but to me, it is not about the money, it is about the goal. And that was to win a seat for the million.

Well guys, I didn't win it I busted out in 1915th. Looking at the hand it was a bit foolish of me, but never the less, enjoyed playing. Alot of bad players in the million :/ Like so many limpers its unreal. The hand I busted was, AKo UTG, raise 3x, and guy 3bets me with about double his 3bet behind, and for some reason I thought the most +EV move was to reship here. Bad idea, as he is surely repping a PP here, in which case I am behind. He had KK, and no ace and it was gg.

Nevermind. Was playing FTW. Played decent, wasnt super stacked, but did not make and stupid mistakes, and made some good bets taking many pots down etc.
