I dont think he'd expect you to do this with anything that's hit the flop good. If you'd have trips or an overpair, most people will just call in position with a decent hand and hope he leads into you again or else bet the turn. That + probably some sort of tell, maybe he thinks you betting 3/4 of your stack on the river is you trying to look strong while not being strong. Tho calling down with AJ high is definately not standard . If your range is correct tho, and he didn't pick up on any specific tell, his call is pretty bad.

FWIW from his 2+2 posts he seemed competent, so he might have had a good reason, but then again the way you presented the hand...his line looks horrible...

maybe he has some live read on you, thats not excluded imo

if turn is a check then i think flop is just a call

maybe been better to reraise over a double barrel or just call then barrel barrel most my stack

tho i feel like call barrel barrel will get called down even more often

I think he dismissed any thin call downs you made and simply said K/5/Air was your range so he called. Shoulda had AQ there and owned his soul. I think it's just a spot where the king is a really shitty bluff card because unless he knows that you are capable of thin valuebetting (which you said yourself he has no idea about your capabilities) he's going to think that your VB range on that river is extremely polarized, regardless of whether it is or isn't.

most likely either a live tell, or like wh00sel said, he just thinks your range is a 5 or air for whatever reason. alaei is a sick live reader afaik so that wouldn't surprise me too much, but then again everyone has their quirks in the way they value particular bits of data so maybe he had seen one thing that all of us would overlook, overvalued it, and made his decision based on that, whatever it is
