Since I've said I was coaching again I had a really good response from LP members and am booked for full time coaching for now. However, I was thinking of possibly starting some group lessons like 1 or 2 times per week for players that can't really afford lesson packages from a higher stakes player or want a different environment or just simply don't want to spend hundreds per hour hehe. The lessons would be in groups of say 5 with everyone being invited to share off the same desktop sharing program and talking over a vent channel or something. I would host them and for the first couple at least play or review a video I made (the stakes will differ and depend on what limits the people who turn out for lessons want) where people can ask questions and hopefully create good discussion. The lessons would end with each of the group members sharing a HH that I would go over one by one and again hopefully generate solid discussion. If this is a success then future lessons would have group members play while I mainly give them a lesson while others watch and discuss as I sweat the person. This would esp work if there were more regulars week by week. Sign up would be a week in advance.

Workshops could also be interesting where again in a group format I will go over the concepts that I think are people' biggest problems. Examples would be: 3betting preflop:when?how?why?, Calling out of blinds, playing in 3bet pots postflop, etc. with HH examples or anything interesting I can add format wise.

Since this is just an idea and experimental the first one would be very cheap and we would just see how it goes. If there is a solid interest and it goes well then great we could continue. So post away or message me if interested. I thought of this since I didnt have time for more full time players yet still was getting interest in coaching and lessons.

Pros: very cost effective, group discussion might be better then 1 on 1

Cons: not 1 one 1, might not be ur limit so u might not benefit as much, others might hog the talking or in general be idiots (whom I would ask to leave, etc)

Ps: octagon training is extra!!

As a fulltime student of d_zoo's (aka I get free octagon training) ... I just wanted to say that this would be a great opportunity for anyone who feels like they cant afford one on one coaching. D_zoo is a great guy and always open to new ideas and shit and has a lot of patience (surprisingly ). Anyone who is seriously interested in improving their game should def take advantage of this cuz it will be well worth it.

well you are FR player right? so you will teach ppl to play FR obv
and ofc you should teach ppl ,as you wrote .. some advanced staff so that means that ppl who dont have basic knowledge shouldn't be in this program , and probably the best way to do selection is over skype etc.. to see their poker backgoround and their english knowledge

what stakes?

D_Zoo   Canada. Jul 15 2008 10:17. Posts 4013

the stakes can be all over and would depend on what people would want.....I have just completed a 1/2 video with no audio so that could be one.

I'd like to do this if possible. I play 100nl atm and I've been doing alright so far but I still have alot to work on. I still think I am missing alot of value and my winrate should be alot higher than it is.

" 3betting preflop:when?how?why?, Calling out of blinds, playing in 3bet pots postflop,"

^^^This is mainly what I am struggling with and would like to get better at this.

fuck poker training dzoo, i just want the octagon training

D_Zoo   Canada. Jul 15 2008 11:59. Posts 4013

ok sounds like there are a few people interested.....so we can try one out prolly this week. I'm just not sure if I should dictate what stakes and game I am gonna do and see if people join up or listen to what majority wants. I usually don't do many lessons under 400nl but I can prolly do any limit in this group format since it theoretically (biggest word i know) should be more fun for me. BTW I'm only doing NL FR and 6m since I'm not good or experienced at anything else and will even do higher limits (I'm in process of making a 5/10 video for someone anyways which I have screwed up 3 times now....stupid Camtasia) if people wanted even if its just more entertainment and seeing how higher limits play. so lemme know what u guys think is best...wokrshop things wouldn't start right away since they would take more time to put together and I would def need a commitment to that

lol yeah octagon training can be arranged....I submitted my 95 pound gf last night in a quick armbar like 10 seconds into the match...clearly I know my stuff!!!!!
