This year was my best in poker. I used to be a fish and now i know that. I probably made around $1000 this year and that is a lot to me. I was able to pay for some vacations and a lot things that i wanted.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/181537 - most satisfying hand of the year. This hand had a humongous suckout on me in my shot at NL50. I won it all back and more. Why i would call a raise with A9o is odd to me, but whatever.
I'm making the standard resolutions that never make more than a month.
1. Work out more. I'm pretty skinny, but I'm not in great shape and I'm not very strong. I was doing ok earlier this school year, but then my workout partner stopped working out and I don't want to walk 15 minutes in the freezing Michigan cold.
2. Get better grades. I go to University of Michigan and am majoring in Actuarial Mathematics. It's hard. But that doesn't mean i should get a 2.9 and 2.6 in my first 2 semesters. I got a 3.1 this semester and I was lucky to get that. The teachers appreciate effort and will help you out at the end if you show that you care about the class.
3. Pass Exam FM/2 To be an actuary, you have to pass exams in order to get jobs. I already passed the first as a freshman, which is pretty good. If i pass this one, it'll look great to companies.
4. Get with girls? I'm pretty bad with girls, so I have improve that, not much else to say.
5. Spend less money/eat better- this going hand in hand since i just randomly waste money on late night/unneccessaryily expensive food.
In poker, i don't have any specific goals besides continue to get better. Sometimes you feel in that zone and you bascially just play the best you can. I want to get into and refine that "zone".
Good luck to all in 2008
