| | Weird dreams again by Luna_Bluffgood, November 17
Tonight I dreamed I was playing the WSOP final table (not weird yet because i watched the episodes just on that evening)
Weird was the fact that it took place in like the foyer of some cafeteria. Beides me the table concluded of Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu and T.J. Cloutier.
Over a few hands hellmuth berated me for being a passive nit, that i only raise the goods and shit.
So next hand I raised utg to 300 with K with blinds at 50/100, he 3-bets me to 800 utg+1, leaving himself 500 behind. So I figure this is Phil Hellmuth, we only does it with aces, so i fold my AK. He shows me K7s and laughs.
So why would Phil Hellmuth 3-bet K7s utg+1...

Hello everyone, this is my first blog message. I decided to say somethink becouse I have to cry somewhere. I need to improve my bad english so maybe this is a good place to learn more about all.
Im from Czech Republic, living in the capital city - Prague. Im 23 years old and trying to move up from 4 semester at my univerzity.
Im playing poker about 2,5 year , but the first one I was grinding freerools allday long, then i won some 0,30 - 0,70 cents which I blow it up quickly in cash or micro sgs. After some months i ended at better place I won around 6 dolars on old Expekt poker soft., I knew about bankroll managment totaly nothing, so i shooted 2dolars sg, I coolered, from 6 dollars i made like 100, then 200 and more, i tryid first cashout lol about 100 dollars when i had maybe 250? And it worked, poker wasnt rigged? Wow so I was cool? I tryed cashgame nl50 lol, yes with 250$ (5buyins) one tablering, but damn i lost 100 in one day. Ok, I wasnt so big dumbass?, I played 2-5$ Sgs again for a while. But nothing special sometimes I cashout 50$ and I was so happy, but that was bad, I had arround 250 dollars and played 5-10$ sgs, then was a bad time, I throw my bankroll away on 10$ sgs. Damn poker was rigged for sure So i had to cash in back like 100 dollars again lol and play again lower sgs. One day I played tournament with 5 dollar buyin, which I won like 1200$ Im sure that time I had to be the biggest luckbox. I decided to keep grinding 10$ sgs on expekt, then i move some money to Paradise poker too, and played tournaments and sgs, that was time i coolered in 5-20dollars buyin tournaments, I luckboxed some first and second places with 400-800 euros. I tryed PL Omaha too, but the biggest move up was when I find pokergamers.cz, liquidpoker.net and some other forums and I checked some videos, I decided to move on PokerStars only and started playing cash games. I puted there about 800 dollars and started grinding nl25 4 tablering.
That was around February 2008, I run good made on nL25 around 1k, then I move up on nl50, and the very nice mounth was march I made like 4k, then averages mouths like 1,5k I was playing more tables 6-9 shorthanded, tryed fullring too 12-16 tables but it was a little boring nitty style. I think in half of July I reached the level Supernova on nl100. My winrate on nl100 wasnt so good as on nl50, but I decided to move up on nl200, unlikely I had the first mounth bad days, and was breakeaven, I will post some graphs soon.
Now Im playing still nl200 shorthanded mostly on 6 tables

| | 5k hands -> goldstar by BeMannerPenner, November 17
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/d23dda0b03361e1c2a65a0a5b8c97498.jpg
playd 5k hands to get goldstar finally. session started out HORRIBLE as u can see in the graph. i lost evry single allin situation beeing in 75% or more favourite in evry one.god how much i hate lucky shortstacks and morons.
kept playing and did fine. but ofcourse the cards decided to fuck me up just before i reach my target throwing one KK vs AA preallin and some nice smaller fuckovers into me so i end the session breakeven instead of up 3 buyins.
but since pretty much evry single of my sessions goes that way (lose big, win slowly back, lose big) im used to it. just hoping that i can run good one time again. 2,5 ptbb/100 are pathetic for crappy nl25 and looking at the people i lose like 75% of my money to its even more stupid.
but achieved my goal, goldstar again after one year of not playing and overall im still doing ok. need to open up my game tho again. the nitstyle im playing atm is boring...
/edit was pissed of stopping breakeven for the day and playd another 3k hands. even with some suckouts and setups i ended up +2bi. not a great profit for a 8k hands day but better then -1/4 buyin after 5k.

| | First 5 Digit Day by PanoRaMa, November 17
Scroll down if u want to ignore all the RL stuff and get right to the poker material.
---
My weekend has been a rollercoaster ride. Friday started great, class wasn't too boring, I got back and immediately started grinding. I'd already put in 30k hands this months 6-tabling, which is pretty impressive for me. I broke even playing for like 3 hours, and quit. Later that night, I saw my favorite multi-tabling nit fish on. There's no way I can express in words how ginormous my edge over this guy is, so I waitlisted all his tables and played. I ended up dropping 15 buy ins at 1/2 that night, which led to my previous blog entry titled "Worst session of my life". Feeling absolutely shitty about that, I vowed that the next day I wouldn't play poker, and go out instead.
So Saturday comes along, I had made plans to go see Quantum of Solace with the girl I've liked for 2 years. Without going into details, she recently broke up with her bf and lately we'd been hanging out a lot and getting along great, which is saying a lot because we clicked really well even while she was in her relationship. I'd hate to sound like a pussy bitch in front of the hip LP.net crowd but that night I confessed to her and well, it wasn't like I was outright rejected or anything but whenever you tell a girl you've liked her for 2 years and the words that immediately come out of her mouth aren't "pls bone me now <3", then it's never really a good thing. So, with the implication that my feelings weren't mutual, I ended up dropping her back after we ate, and I drove home fucking miserable. I really can't describe how I felt that night, it was weird, almost surreal. It's like my life was a god awful dream wherein everything that could go bad for my life was doing exactly that.
People say that money isn't important, other people also say "fuck bitches", but no matter what, everyone can agree that the safety of their loved ones is a huge priority. Well, I woke up today and found out my parents had to evacuate our home in Southern California because of the fires. I'm not there right now (at my apartment near my university), but just knowing that my parents were being forced to evacuate and that my home could easily succumb to the fires really troubled me. Well, nothing I could do - the freeways to my home are blocked, so I just had to sit at my apartment doing what I can only do best, play fucking online pokers.
Since this is getting long I'll just wrap it up now. I played today, immediately started heating up a bit in cash games, and played a few Sunday tournaments, including 2 FTOPS events. Well, I managed to take 4th place for 9k in the Stars Daily Eighty and 300th (lol) for 1.2k in the FTOPS ME, marking it my first (and i hope of many) five-digit days.
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a162/sirasoni/10kday.png
While shipping it crucial in the tournaments, I also found out that the winds have started blowing the opposite direction in my hometown, meaning my house will probably crucial dodge the fire!
So I just wanted to share this story of how at one point within the same fucking weekend I was at an absolute low and now I'm rather happy . I'm still a lonely bastard but at least I'm not stuck on the month!

| | Not bad weekend by EXCELED, November 16
I ended up having an alright weekend even though I really didnt do a whole lot. I managed to get in some hands but never really got anything going. I took shots at $.5/$1 LHE 6 Max and didnt get really any results. I think Im only down 5 BB but I didnt get in a good sized hand sample to even really see how Im doing.
From what I did play I think that I played a bit tighter just because I was trying to get a feel for this level but playing tighter got me off MY GAME and just played too ABC. It seems like theres a lot more nits too. Im going to take a shot when I have a really solid role for this level. I am very close to being at my amounts of BBs for that level but I think I could use a bit more. The next shot I take will be after I beat the $.25/$.50 for about $150 more. That way I think I will feel more comfortable with the move up and be able to get my game going a bit better. 300 BB by the end of the month is the goal I guess.
Going to put in a very nice session tomorrow and start killing the gym again. Took 2 weeks off because my back was really soar but Its feelin good now and I really want to get back into it.
Hope everyone did well in the Donkaments today.

| | Busto... by Kilay, November 16
Well, not quite but I took quite a hit the last 3 days playing and feel miserable about and need your help with some of my hands.
I've lost like 10 buy-ins in my last 2 sessions - 2k hands, 4 this Friday and almost 6 today and I feel like absolute shit, those 2 gruesome days result me in breaking even for the last 11k hands which feels like a sin to me on a limit as 25NL... whatever, I guess most will tell me it's completely standard (either that or that I can't beat 25NL... I hope it's the first one most frankly...). Like half those buy-ins are proven coolers/bad beats looking at them through HEM but the other half was because of some gruesome spots and I was wondering if there were any people around that would care to help me comment these spots...
Spot #1:
The guy in this hand was playing 45/20 over 20 hands and seemed to be mostly a calling station. His overall aggression frequency was 21% but that doesn't say much over such a small sample size.
+ Show Spoiler +
Spot #2:
The guy in this hand was playing 43/17 over 23 hands and was pretty aggro, his aggro frequency was 42% and he didn't seem to like folding so far. Not sure if it helps any way, I guess it does constructing his preflop range, his preflop 3-bet percentage was 25%, obviously a small sample size but that's a lot of 3-bets nontheless.
+ Show Spoiler +
Spot #3:
The guy in this hand was playing 19/3 over 36 hands and had a aggro frequency of 14% and didn't seem to like folding post flop once he was in the flop. The hand before this one I saw him minraising and 4-betting the flop quite small with JTo on a KQ9 flop with a flushdraw on it, naturally I took some weight off nut hands in his range but nontheless, the overbet shove really threw me off.
+ Show Spoiler +
Spot #4:
The guy in this hand turned out to be playing 41/19 over 54 hands but I think was playing around 70/55 or so for over 20 hands when this hand occured. His aggro frequency turned out to be around 45% over those 54 hands and he was generally acting like your standard aggrodonk. Btw, his raise here is a shove.
+ Show Spoiler +
Spot #5:
The guy in this hand turned out to be playing 54/13 over 113 hands and was extremely aggressive postflop, his aggro frequency over those 113 hands turned out to be 72 so that's pretty damn high. Preflop though he seemed reasonably stationy and just trying to see flops so he could go nuts postflop. I hadn't seen him limp/3-bet so I wasn't sure how to act on that one but didn't feel quite good to get it in preflop because of his overall nitty preflop opening stat.
+ Show Spoiler +
Anyways, apart from these hands I am really struggling with my mindset for poker and that has been going on for quite a long time now. It seems that I know the fundamentals quite well overall, understand the nature of the game and are pretty reasonable at figuring out most spots but I have a hard time getting my grinding mindset right. I don't grind enough because I am afraid of losing sessions, call me an idiot about it, I know it's insane and I feel kind of ashamed about it but that's the way it is. I also have small tilt problems, half-way my losing session today I started tilting again and tilted off exactly 1 buy-in directly after losing a pot, it ain't much with how I'd use to tilt (I used to tilt from losing 3 buy-ins already and my max buy-ins lost on tilt is about 4, I know, really bad but I worked on it quite a bit and I got most of it out of me) but it's still 1 buy-in unnecessary lost.
I also seem to be really bad at not thinking about my results in hands that I lost... I understand that a set over set is a cooler you probably won't get away from unless the flop is super, super bad (like 876 monotone) but I guess some or maybe even most hands I posted above are coolers but I like to believe I could have made a different move and shit like that. Thing is, my confidence is really low and I constantly doubt if I understand things good enough to be even considered a winner in poker in general so I tend to feel all this insecurity whenever I lose a hand and wonder if I misplayed it.
Anyways, long post, blah, blah, blah, I would like to thank everybody in advance that was willing to take a look here and help me out, later, Kilay

So I made a new playlist inspired by how I've been running this month.
http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/879/pokersongscs4.jpg
God mothafucking damn it, lol.
Might move down or something and play like 10 or 20k hands at 1/2 just to rid out this little bump. Not down THAT much, but it's fucking annoying cause every time I feel like something is about to go my way I'll get stacked on 3 tables within 5 minutes. Funniest hand today (didn't save it), retard raises UTG, I repop black queens UTG+1, he calls. Flop like 9xx all diamonds, I bet, he shoves, I call and he shoves K8o with the 8d. I guess it was a coinflip, but come on!

| | HUD Question by ConquistadoR, November 16
Yo guys, whats up.
I played quite some time during the last few days, i managed to clear that 500€ bonus, cashed out 620€ totally from that crap site. Im gonna have to use probably like 200€ of those IRL, and ill probably deposit the ~400€ on Pokerstars.
From now on, the real grind can begin! And because of that, I got a question to u guys : I am a total newbie with PokerHUDs, never used one, i mean back in the day i used PT all the time, but i never used a HUD. Now, however, i want to get serious about my game again, and I feel that using a HUD is a tremendous advantage to have.
So my question basically is, what do you guys think is better to use, HEM with HUD, or PT3 ?
And i also would like to know from you guys which stats do you set to display on the tables? Currently i've got THESE settings (think they are standard).

| | Getting better by OjKa, November 16
So i moved up to the $2 SNGs on FTP, doing pretty well on it and decided i can 6 table these things comfortably.
Yesterday i broke through $100 in my cashier which i'm pretty happy about and it's continuing to rise hopefully.
I also joined the Deucescracked site and it's pretty cool, although they don't seem to have many SNG videos.
Anyone know a site that has more than 10 SNG videos to browse?

| | Started -1.2k, ended +1k, Standard 20k Hands, PICS by Joeingram1, November 16
Pics of me and gf, and of my setup are at the bottom of this post so if you like pics go there first lol.
I put together another epic come back yesterday in my session and was able to book a winning day for the first time this week. I actually had to take a break after I started and lost like 600 instantly but eventually I stopped running totally horrible and finally was able to mount a comeback and book the win. I stopped the session pretty much right at 20k hands so didnt really gain any on the 12k I am off pace. I wanted to keep playing but was just way to tired and exhausted to continue but I felt like I could have made alot more yesterday. Next time your playing a session and down 13 BIs but your playing good and just running bad, grind through it and book the +9 BI day. Am at 288k hands total for the month now.
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr143/joeingram1/sicksession.gif
About to start playing for the day right now after I eat some breakfeast. The girl/friend is coming over tonight so have to take some time out to entertain her and not play poker which makes me lol. I am totally 100 percent focused on playing this month and she is a slight distraction from me winning the bet.
For entertainment purposes this is a pic of me and her. I probably don't look like the typical person that plays 600k hands 14 hours a day of online poker but who knows lol.
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr143/joeingram1/DSCF1006.jpg
This is the setup I use to entertain myself, its a 70" Panasonic with my little flat screen to watch TV/movies/football while I grind all day.
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr143/joeingram1/DSCF1019.jpg
Here is a few examples of me running bad yesterday at the beginning
This hand was right at the end of the session, I'm like sweet ship the 1k session, then boom I beat nothing on the river

Next time a fish check/calls 2 streets and you have the nuts on the river, just bet 2.5x pot and have him call, value shove imo

i was running hot:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/ec56e640c7ea68e03260782c14b7e697.jpg
but didn't want to play when i didn't have the mood or was bored/sleepy, so not many hands
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/569017 - stacking off light against 29/24 100 hands 3bet%: 12
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/569019 - 44/33 30 hands 3beted 4th time, so i decided to call, then i flop a draw and against his cbet i go ad commit myself... maybe it wasn't such a good flop to try to make him fold?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/569020 - 27/16/0.8 60 hands, i think his AF and fold to cbet 0 of 2 doesnt make him a good player to 3barrel against
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/569024 - Desmo888 28/12/3 50 hands, -BigBaba- 16/9/0 60 hands, i thought bet/fold turn was good option ( cause FD, staright draw, maybe A8/99 ) and i thought a set raises flop but i guess checking turn is better?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/569027 - i shouldnt cbet this flop and i thought i can represent something on turn to 27/10/2 80 hands but i guess when he calls flop he either has a flush or a FD that competes on turn
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/569028 - omg bet this flop wtf? dunno what happend, bet button hid somewhere?

long time reader, first time poster. i am excited to say that i am following neilly's idea of the 25k challenge. i have been learning how to play by reading a bunch of books, and studying hands and such online. however i never played until this past week. because i am very busy, i won't be posting a day 1/2/3 everyday, but everyday i play. so sometime next week will be day2, if anyone is interested. i started out depositing 25 dollars on pokerstars.
so far i've only played for an hour and doubled my br. it seems easy.
