MIAMI — A college student committed suicide by taking a drug overdose in front of a live webcam as some computer users egged him on, others tried to talk him out of it, and another messaged OMG in horror when it became clear it was no joke. Some watchers contacted the Web site to notify police, but by the time officers entered Abraham Biggs' home _ a scene also captured on the Internet _ it was too late. Biggs, a 19-year-old Broward College student who suffered from what his family said was bipolar disorder, or manic depression, lay dead on his bed in his father's Pembroke Pines house Wednesday afternoon, the camera still running 12 hours after Biggs announced his intentions online around 3 a.m. It was unclear how many people watched it unfold. Biggs was not the first person to commit suicide with a webcam rolling. But the drawn-out drama _ and the reaction of those watching _ was seen as an extreme example of young people's penchant for sharing intimate details about themselves over the Internet. Biggs' family was infuriated that no one acted sooner to save him, neither the viewers nor the Web site that hosted the live video, Justin.tv. The Web site shows a video image, with a space alongside where computer users can instantly post comments. Only when police arrived did the Web feed stop, "so that's 12 hours of watching," said the victim's sister, Rosalind Bigg. "They got hits, they got viewers, nothing happened for hours." She added: "It didn't have to be." An autopsy concluded Biggs died from a combination of opiates and benzodiazepine, which his family said was prescribed for his bipolar disorder.

That's pretty twisted shit.

Well I started playing 100nl with a big fat roll and I just played a ~3 hour session. Of course I run super fantastic whenever I move up so I got insta ass-raped at the beginning and lost like 2 BI (I had made 3BI at 50nl earlier today) so I was down like -$50 for the day. But I stuck with it and grinded it out. The regs are definitely a lot different here than at 50nl. They're a lot more aggressive for one and you also get all kinds of loose floaty types. Besides running massively under expectation, I'm fairly happy with the session, not thrilled because I made 1 or 2 pretty bad mistakes. But I did end up a buyin so that's nice. I'm confident I can handle 100nl for now.

It's 50nl up until like hand 400. It's 100nl where the graph starts decending and get super fucking swingy. The first cliff downward was me getting it in with top set vs a lower set and the guy hit a backdoor flush lol. But ya as you can see the EV line I could be richer :D

Posting this here because I don't wanna post it on my main blog due to my mom being a stalker, but life is fucking weird sometimes.

My ex of 2.5 years started talking to me again like two weeks ago, and I've been pretty happy about it. While going on a road trip in my Z, I passed by her university and sent her a text saying that I was going by. She told me to text her when I was on my way back and then I told her I could just stop by instead. I went on my way with my road trip and it proceeded to be horrible.

When I got to Maryland, things were fine. Picked up my best friend Holly and we went to North Carolina the next morning. It started pouring and I could barely see in front of us. We finally got there and I passed out from exhaustion. I woke up to Holly fucking her boyfriend.. fun. I went back to sleep for the rest of the night and woke up on Saturday.

I drove like 5.5 hours to South Carolina for a party that turned out to be not so exciting, and ended up driving back on Sunday after watching the Broncos/Falcons game. Talked to my ex basically the whole ride home because she's the only one I know that can make me feel better, and it kinda helped. When I got back to NC, I got confronted by Holly's grandpa because he thought I was the boy that got her pregnant, which I obviously am not, and he almost punched me because he thought I was lying. Because of that, we left town like 5 hours early and I was supposed to meet my friend in Norfolk after he got off of work but due to leaving early, we couldn't meet him.

I was going to go to Atlantic City after I dropped Holly off, but due to my car being bought out of state, my temp tags were only 15 days as opposed to 30 days, so I had to head back to Ohio the next day.

I got back to Maryland, slept and started driving back to Ohio in the morning. Sent a text to my ex, and told her I was stopping by, she said to watch out because it was snowing in Ohio, sigh. So I get through the mountains with no snow, and I get probably 10 miles out of her city and it turns to essentially a white-out. Being a RWD car, I could barely control it and hit a snowdrift, sliding into the median and turning all the way around almost on the other side of the highway.

I drove to the first exit and watched as my brakes locked up and got stuck in another drift. Called the ex, she came and waited for me while a tow truck came, and we went to dinner afterward because I was cold and hungry. We got Steak N Shake which was really good, and then we went back to her place and relaxed, and I stayed the night. Since then, I've just been so in love with her and things are progressing smoothly into us getting back together, after I went to see her again yesterday and stayed the night again.


Cliffnotes:
After having the worst vacation of my life, it leads to me and my ex potentially getting back together after having about a million things fall into place that led me to staying at her place for the night rather than hang out with her for an hour or two.

Life is weird.

Other than that, haven't had much time to grind, but I'm probably up $20k or so in 15k hands. Yay poker.

Today will be the second day at 50nl and it has continued to go well. Had a 5k breakeven stretch where some spew and some variance kicked my ass but overall it has been good. Logged about 12.5k hands in the last two days and actually made gold star for the first time ever. Not a big deal to most, but I'm pretty happy with it. If all continues to go well next month Platinium is def a possibility. Anyway here's a graph of 50nl so far, just DL'ed HEM so I figured I'd put the graph in.

Anyway, life is good. Played another 1k hands today and broke even. Pretty standard for me to have a break even session after a big winner like last night. Took a break and plan to get back online in a bit now that it's getting later and the drunks are coming home.

Pretty good weekend so far. Went out last night with my GF to our favorite local bar and they had an amazing acapella group named "Face" in there. Pretty impressive shit. Then today went on a hike in Boulder which was great. Now gotta do some more poker and hopefully pwn some noobs! I can't wait to hit 4k and start in on NL200, cause I feel like I can beat it now, especially with saki's coaching.

I'm looking at how much i've won with which type of hands right now, in PT3, and the results are quite surprising.

Straight flush: +6
Four of a kind: +89
Full house: +445
Flush: +323
Straight: +105
Three of a kind: +539
Two pair: -122
one pair: -609
high card: -434
Total: 344

Mostly I'm just shocked at how much money I've lost with just one pair, especially when you consider that I've made +227 from AA. Right now my winnings from monster hands are just enough to overcome my losses from one pair. Is this normal? I'm curious to see what the distribution looks like for others, especially looser players.

edit: I think this is somewhat inaccurate because it includes hands I folded PF. So for example, if i folded 27 PF and the flop came 222, it would count as me losing money with Four of a Kind. If you give me back the ~1000 that I've paid in blinds, I can see that my pairs are actually profitable

Well FUCKIT, i played quite a lot during the last few days, and still it was all for nothing. Maybe i suck like hell, but i dunno. Gonna stop playing for today, and try to put in more hands tomorrow again. It sucks, i mean i am playing NL10!!!!!!!! and yet it seems like i am not going anywhere. Even using HUD now, for the first time in my life, and I it certainly has helped me a lot with some decisions.



Hmm a newbie HUD question again : When you guys in the poker discussion describe someone as, lets say, a 41/0/1.33 fish, the first 2 digits are obv. VP$IP and PreflopRaise, right? But what is the third digit usually ? Aggr.Factor ? Aggr. Frequency? 3bet PF ? Just curious.

I went down to London last night to look at a couple of places with my buddy who is going to be moving in with me. We decided to drive seperately because I needd to come back the next day for work and he wanted to stay at his g/fs place who lives in London already. I got to London around 4:00. It was a shitty drive because it was snowing like a mother fucker in Woodstock and people were driving so slow. I tried calling my buddy but his fucking cell phone was dead... nice lol. I called up his g/f too see if he was there already but he wasnt even. His g/f said she thought he would have been there a long time ago but he still wasnt so I went over to her place to wait for him. Finally he shows up about 1/2 hour after I got to his g/fs place. Turns out I must have just missed an accident on the highway which made traffic 10x worse. So we went out and I showed him the apartments I look at when I was down there Tuesday and he really liked the first place I showed him. We looked at a few other apartments but they were all a bit over priced and really didnt have anything special about them.

Anyways we ended up deciding on a pretty nice 2 bedroom apartment pretty close to the college im going too. We decided this place would fit our financial situation best and it was close to everything we needed such as grocery stores, food joints, banks, BEER STORE, etc. The guy who was showing us the house said if we decided that we wanted this place tomorrow he would take $100/month off the rent! So after looking at all the other places we took the best offer. We are getting this place at a steal of $700/month or $350/month each. With the extra money we are going to save on rent we decided we are going to buy a SICK tv for the place. Pretty pumped for that.

This place doesnt really need a lot of work which is nice. I mean we definitly need to paint it because some of the colours in this place are nasty. The kitchen is a teal colour and one of the bedrooms is painted a blood red. Im glad that painting is the only thing we really need to do.

The biggest problem that has come around is that one room is bigger then the other! Who should get the bigger room? We decided that we are going to draw from a hat to be fair... but I think its kind of bullshit because I need to be able to get a desk in my room for all my school shit and to study. My buddy isnt going to school instead hes going to work. We are both paying the same soI guess the only real fair way is to do the draw out of a hat. I better fucking win the big room thats all I have to say lol.

After we got done looking at the houses it started snowing like a mother fucker outside. I wasnt sure if I really wanted to make the trek home because it would have for sure been white out conditions on the highway which means an hour ride would for sure turn into a 3hr drive instead because people would be crawling on the highway doing like 40kmh. The only reason I wanted to go home was because I had to work in the morning. But I figured I would drive all the way home and go into work today and get sent home anyways at like 9am anyways so I said fuck it and called in sick and stayed the night at my buddies girlfriends place.

So we were stuck in London for the night so we decided to make the best of this snowy night and get drunk as fuck and celebrate finding a new place. My buddy, his girl, all her roomates went out for dinner for some grub and drinks.(Her roomates are all good looking girls and the one still wants me. I hooked up with her last time I went down there and havent talked to her since lol.) We went to EastSide Marios because it was really close to the LCBO lol. We went into the restaurant and it was packed. We put are name on the 20 minute waiting list and went over to the LCBO while we were waiting. I got a 12 pack of tall boys and a mickey of Southern Comfort to get me going for the night. We go back to Eastsides and we asked the lady how long before she called our name and she says they already did and took our names off the list... sweet. Thankfully they were nice and gave us the next table open.

Im not a huge fan of Eastsides because my brother works there and he always brings me home shit so Ive had probably everything on the menu and there arent any amazing things on it lol. I ended up getting a seafood pasta. It was alright... 6/10. Our waitress was seriously so stupid. She comes over with our drinks and she had a few other drinks for another table on her trey. She gives us our drinks and puts the other tables drinks down on our table so she could take our food orders. Anyways when she left she ended up leaving 2 beers and a cranberry vodka on the table. We werent sure what to do so we decided we would wait until she came back and see if she took the drinks without us saying anything to her. She comes back and doesnt say shit and leaves them there. So of course we drank them and didnt get charged for them on our bill. We all got our bills and had to pay debit but the waitress was no where to be found. We go up to the bar and they say we gotta go to the back to pay debit. Our waitress is there and says to us "Oh there you are I thought you gusy left already and left the money on the table." Seriously? lol. We could have left and she wouldnt have had a clue. Not that Im a cheap ass or anyting, it didnt even cross my mind until after I paid lol.

We went back to my buddies g/fs place and started throwing back the boose. A six pack later and a few shots of Tequila and Im shittered and ready to hit the bar. We all got pretty drunk and that same girl from last time was loving what I was selling lol. The girls wanted to go to this country bar called Cowboys. I dont have a problem with country... I mean I dont listen to it on the regular or anything like that but Its not to bad and its a good time when you are fucked up on liqour lol. So we called up cabs and off we went.

We got to the bar and it wasnt overly busy probably because of the weather. It was still pumpin and I was thirsty. Me and this girl went straight to the bar for some shots and drinks. Around 12:30 I was buzzin hard and this girl was bugging me to dance so I caved of course. Before I knew it, it was last call at the bar. We went over got some quick shots and one last drink. Back to the dance floor for a bit and then it was time to head out back to there place. When we got back everyone was pretty tired and wanted to go to bed except for this and me.. we wanted to stay up for a bit and have some fun if you get my drift. Everyone crashed, we went up to her room and yeaaaa baby lol.

What a fucking day man seriously. Found a new pad, went out got drunk as fuck and got some action. Hat trick lol. I got up this morning around 10am and went out for breakfast with her. She started talking about how excited she was that I would be living in London soon. She also said she wanted to start hanging out more too. I said that would be awesome but then I started think and Im not too sure how I feel about this lol. I mean Im finally moving out of my house and Im going to be living on my own with my buddy. The last thing I want is to get tied down with some brod I hardly know. I wanna party meet new brods and wheel everything I can man. Fuck having a g/f right now seriously, its time to live it up!

After this interesting breakfast I went back to her place and my buddy and I had to meet up with the land lord and sign some shit and give him some cash. After that I took my buddy back to his g/fs and drove home. It was fucking snowing like crazy again halfway home and it took way too long to get back lol. Oh well I made it.

Long blog but seriously I had such a sick night. I havent played any poker todya nd Im probably not going too because I got hockey pretty soon.. ugh. Anyways I hope everyones having a great weekend!
