Hey all, recently I posted about my crazy bad run and how I thought about quiting poker etc. because 50NL owned me on 3 attempts and then I started tilting my whole roll away on 25NL. I decided that I would play each microstake limit again. My goal is to make 30BI on each limit by end of december and hopefully have a fairly beefed up BR to try 50NL. I thought it'd be fun to post my results for each limit. I started 2 days ago grinding 2NL, hopefully can fly through 5NL and 10NL fairly quick too! Anyway I'll see all you microstake grinders at the tables =) try not to take my money and make my mission harder

hi lpnet,

i am an american nl50 stars player trying to deposit $600 on ftp to get the 100% bonus via moneygram. i've done some research and the service itself seems popular & legit. however, the instructions i received from emailing cashier@fulltiltpoker.com tell me to list the receiver as some guy in Nicaragua, and that this guy's name is to be used only once and will expire in one week. this seems incredibly shady to me, but i am fairly new to poker and not familiar with how deposits work outside of e-checks. has anyone done this successfully and can vouch for it? i've been looking for threads on 2+2 and this site but can only find passing commentary on this deposit method.

thanks a lot, and sorry if this is a stupid question about a standard spot. i'm aware there's a whole bunch of legislation that explains all this, but $600 is most of my roll and i'd really like some verification before i do this =]

It's good to run even. You get coolered but you also cooler other people just about the same amount. Most of your good hands hold, but sometimes they lose. You play well and actually make money and it feels nice. I really like running even. Fuck heaters that instill false hope and a sense of godliness which only leads to a horrible soul crushing crash into the bottom of a case of beer. Fuck downswings that last for months and turn you into a raving asshole that pushes all the people close to him away. Running even is where I feel best, finishing sessions with a modest win that reflects the way I played. Fuck yeah.

On that note, here's my weekend of running even and the nice results. I played 2 sessions a day for the last 3 days. Friday was all wins, Saturday I broke even twice, and today I had a 4 BI win that turned into a 1 BI win by running bad right at the end (but leaving before tilting), and then a really nice 4 BI session to end the day which was mostly realized thanks to one massive pot vs a mega fish right at the end.

Funny cause at the beginning of the week I managed to have a very spewy session and lose like 9 buyins. Now I recovered and more. Very close to 4k and once I hit it I'm going str8 to NL200 cause I KNOW I can beat it, especially with some good table selection and sakisaki coaching me through the move up. I haven't felt this good about poker in a long time and am really excited to get into NL200. Last time I tried to move up I wasn't even good enough to truly beat NL100 and NL200 pwn'd me. Now I know I can do it, just need to get the roll together first! Hopefully by the end of the week I can be taking my NL200 shots after starting coaching. Just gotta keep running even! =)

Condom Experiences

I hate to say it but I am terrible at practicing protection. I believe in the withdrawal method and that God will protect me from disease. I have two experiences with condoms in my life. The first one was when I was in Grade 9. I had been dating this girl for awhile and all we had been doing was making out, some petting over jeans and some titty touching over the shirt. I just throw it on, not pinching the tip or whatever the hell you are supposed to do with them and yell ‘ready!’ The condom is only half way down my dick and does not feel right which is weird since he has a bigger dick then me. My Fucking God,

Ever since i restarted playing back in July seriously after work(i cashed out my roll xmas last year). I have been unable to get back up and past 25nl, this shit is rediculous. Every fucking time i moved up, i get knocked back down due to fucking coolers or suckouts when im 85% or more favourite.

Yes i may have some leaks to my game, and could have found some hard folds but most of my play has been fine.

Just really tilted and frustrated right now, thinking about getting upto $1k then moving straight up to 50nl. I hate 25nl with a passion. I'm not worried about moving down at all it shouldnt take long to get back up i guess...

In terms of putting players on specific ranges, I think I played SPOT on today. Toward the end though, I was getting kind of spewy. I was calling or checking in spots where I should have raised to push people off hands (I like trying to hero call w/ high card ), and I started paying people off to see their hands . It's okay though, because every single time I got it in good, my hand held up. Zero bad beats today.

Ok, so for the past weeks I've been running like crap and the point from when I tilt is quite easily reached. I guess I can take some reasonable variance if it goes over a somewhat normal span but this is becoming insane. For the past 2-3 weeks, I'll play a session, lose 3-4 buy-ins within 300 hands or so, sometimes even less, become tilted, close my pokerclient and just take off for 2 days so I can return with a fresh mind and once I return with great mentality and inspiration, I get fucking soulcrushed again.

Today was once again the day I was coming back. I was planning on playing a solid 1k session to catch up on a lost day since I went to some stand-up comedy yesterday. The session played: 164 hands and down almost 3 buy-ins, it's fucking incredible how shitty I can run and it's not even over one long session so I can relativate and try grind out some hands to win some back, now, Stars likes to make me lose 3 buy-ins immediatly and laugh at me.

Today the biggest pot I won was an astonishing 5.75$ (on 25NL) and the following hands occured in this amazing 25 minute time-span:

Fucking awesome... by now I was pretty annoyed because I wasn't even sessioning for half an hour yet, pretty much reminded me off all the sessions in the last 2 weeks.

Next one was against 54/23 over 30 hands... I guess I misplayed probably because I was already freaking aggravated and my spirit sank to my shoes and I guessed he just got there already on the turn and was like, please cheap boat 1-time to make some of this fucking retarded bullshit up already !!!

All the other boards I had KK on lately had flopped an A and I got c/r'd or donkbet pretty big on and had to fold pretty much and I generally just hate my life right. I think I'll be back at 50NL around 2012, at least, if online poker isn't fucking banned by this. Well, one thing to comfort me, at least I made a shitload of Sklansky-bucks (or is it J-bucks nowadays ??).

My last 3k hands I've lost about 13-14 buy-ins on 25NL and I'm still counting. My winrate dropped from a solid 5 ptbb/100 over 32k hands to 3.8 ptbb/100 over my last 35k hands instead.

Off those 13-14 buy-ins I've had some hands reviewed and around 2-4 buy-ins have been a mistake made by me, the other are just ridiculous variance (proven by the showdowns...)

Please give me some tips because this shit is getting unbearable and extremely depressing... The most fucking depressing thing is that I can't even play a fucking session off longer than 45 minutes or I get tilted by 3-4 ridiculous beats...

8 more days of this and then it is over, I cannot wait. Slept like 5 hours and now up and ready to grind another 20k+ hand session out. I dont even know when I eat food anymore, I never seem to be hungry and the only thing I eat is like chips/candy or Mcdonalds, I need to get this back on track next month and get some sort of normalcy again. But it keeps me super motivated seeing all the positive comments on here and on 2+2 from other people, hopefully I really can influence some others out there to grind some more and make more money for themselves also!!

Some people asked me on here and 2+2 like what was my poker story and basically I started playing online in June at 25nl 9 tabling. I played live poker before that so didnt have a job at the time and was making just playing 25nl and learning the game. At the end of june I started 24 tabling one day when I found out you could play that many and grinded 25nl till like August when I built up my 100 deposit to like 2k before after a bunch of cashouts to pay for things and i took a 50nl shot. I had my ups and downs along the way but always beat 25nl for a really good winrate along the way. I played being a 50nl reg at the beginning of September and into October with a few 100nl shots in the mix throughout all this but never could get my online roll past like 3.2k.

Finally in October I put in a 17k hand session at nl100 one day and made like 1.1k and that boosted my roll to like 5k. At the end of September I got a stake to play 100nl/200nl so did that and made me and my staker 2k before we decided to do this prop bet in the forums, which I wasnt even going to do until the last second I changed my mind and probably my life and decided to. I remember playing 25nl like 3 months ago wondering if poker was for me and if you could actually make this money that you see other people making in the forums and was dreaming that one day I could have more then 5k to my name. Now here I am with 17k on stars, clearing another 4k bonus, about to hit a 2k milestone, and will win about 8.3k in the prop bet and it is a very surreal feeling.

Someone asked what I will make in fpps/prop bet this month by itself and I will have 2 $4k fpp bonuses, a $2k and $3k milestone and 2 $1.5k bonuses. From both prop bets if I win them I will get back about 8.3k, I put up about 2k of it thats in escrow so will make like 6.3k from that. Thats about 22k from that I stand to make.

Also I was asked what my goals are for next month and really am not sure as to pertaining to poker, I am moving into a new place at the beginning of the month so I can get out of this room I have been in lol but I've never had more like 2k on me ever in my life so I defintly am going to go on a shopping spree and buy myself alot of nice things. Probably going to get a car also as I havent had one for the last 2 years living in the city in Chicago. I'll probably grind nl100 next month and make a few thousand from that and clear a 4k milestone along the way.

Basically just take it easy as I prepare to go for Supernova Elite starting in January. I am setting my goal to become the first player on Pokerstars to achieve this next year but there are some high stakes sickos who play a ton so it will be a tough challenge, but one I think i can accomplish. How sick would it be to be the first person to achieve this of everyone that plays on stars.

Here is my day yesterday though, i was down like 1.8k at one point but managed to only end the 24k hand session down 1.1k lol go me. Just running super bad and almost chased losses but finally had to stop and pass out. I really wanted to keep playing but couldnt keep my eyes open anymore.

At the month I am at 442k hands, 2k ahead of the pace and feel great about making it now and hopefully will make it a few days early.

As to the hands from the last 2 days I guess these 2 would some up my days well. Its just frustrating grinding for hours and having this happen consistently.
