I want to take a shot at this 2.5 mil gtd. I got like 2.3k on cake and I want to trade for stars money to make an lp lowstakes video and play tom. I know its not a good idea to spend 10% of a roll on a tourney but its not a big deal other factors considered. Worth the shot imo.
back from xmas, went a lil nutty tryin to win a nice amount to go to vegas over new years, lost around 500 online but managed to win a few k in the casino over xmas so alls good
spent a mil on xmas presents this year, had a good time, found out some hottie likes me there so obv ill be shippin my car back there more often
so i put $600 on stars (limit) today to restart at nl25
no reason to rush things, but its going to go like this
micros (nl10 - nl50 til i have 2.3k)
unlock nl100 and start the grind there, i hope to get there by the first or second week of 09 and see what i can make grinding nl100 and hopefully some nl200 by the end of the year
i had a sick bad year this year, in past years i'd had won around 25k-35k a year (live and online combined), this year i won 11k
oh well, i learned a lot about poker as a business instead of a game and have had many good friends point me in the right direction to do the new year right
so ill start D12 today in a bit with 625, i'll be doing mostly nl25 for the first few days, pickin on some shortstack fish @ hu as well most likely, idk yet
So I had a great HU session this morning (+8ish K€) and then a fucked up suckfest of a 6-max session later (-3 or 4k in like no time at all). This puts me on +~26k€ if I include rakeback and shit for the month. I'll try to limit myself to 2/4, 3/6, donkaments and some low limit omaha the last few days just too keep it that way and maybe get over 30k, which would pwn. PT-shot will come later.
Also, as of today I'm a millionare in SEK. Big fish in small pond, ehh?
I am currently intending to buy a new computer form the next 800$ i make with poker ( 570€).
I am currently using a 3 1/3 Year old custom build desktop that i bought August 2005
Athlon XP3000+ ( Arctic cooling Silencer)
1024mb ram DDR-400
Geforce 7600GT XFX ( was originally a Radeon9800 in 2005 but got replaced in 2007 by the 7600GT)
80GB Seagate HD + 250GB HD external USB
Asus motherboard
Asus Tower + Papst Silencers
22" TFT Benq ( new one bought in 2008)
My main requirements for a new computer
a) Be Silent and stable -> I really hate noisy computers and so i always replace all cooler-fans with quality products
c) be faster than my old machine. I dont really need like an uber fast computer who can play Crysis all details in 50fps ...
but it must be fast enough to play Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 since those are the games i will be playing on the machine.
d) good for movies -> i guess like 35% of the usage i will have on this new computer is watching movies.
e) okay for Poker -> I mostly 1-2 table HU and sometimes i 6table 6max.
So i am not sure if i rather get a desktop or a laptop.
is there even a laptop in the range of 570euros ( 800$) that is good enough for most games + good for poker and university work
edge has left the game?by MadeInPolanD, December 26
i dont see as clearly the edge as i saw it on NL100, there are many regulars who 3bet a lot and it's new for me cause last couple months i avoided them, now it's like a new game lol but it's a small sample so maybe i'm just paranoid
this month has been going pretty ok at nl10. im at 4.8bb/100 through 26k hands. could be better but cant complain, especially with how nl10 was going for me in november. i took 2 small underrolled shots at 25nl. once when i had 16 buyins and took a 1 buyin shot and another just recently when i had 17.5 buyins. the main difference ive noticed between 25nl and 10nl is 25 is nittier. i assume it gets that way as you move up. i got coolered out of both shots though and i think i really shouldnt take another one until i have several more buyins. i feel like i was playing ok there but my bankroll cant handle it as of yet. gotta maintain my discipline and continue building my bankroll at 10nl. i feel like i can beat 10nl now.
Last week I've been taking shots at NL600 with mixed success. It's really the same field as NL400 so I think it's not too bad. There are a lot of fish online at this time of year with the holidays and all, so it causes quite turbulent graphs. I'm quite statisfied with my game though despite a few leaks which I'm sure D_Zoo will help me with, so here's a shout to D_Zoo for being an awesome coach.
The sucking part is that i will move to visit some friends for the new year party ! so i wont be able to play a lot. But after im going to Megeve, nice Snowboarding place, in Les Alpes and it rocks !
I hope you all had a nice xmas week, see ya !
First of all i'd like to say thanks to the ghosting sessions with Response/Shaneomac/Spets11/DJ. Also the people who replied to my Buddy program, that i have talked to on MSN. And the people i have had on MSN since day 1, Joshua, Jamie (Midian), Ket, SeanNolan, Andy, Tom (Xelin). You people are keeping me motivated and your views will also help me improve, as i hope my input does for you too.
I'm going to try and get $1500 at the end of the month, which i would be totally ecstatic about. The amount of hands i have put in this month has been sick for me, i never even put in this amount of focus when i played last year.
I think i needed the break away from the game, think i've growed and been more mature in focusing on what i want to achieve out of poker.
Just an emotional high right now, goodluck to everyone at the tables and Merry Christmas!
Thanks to everyone who scolded me for my neilly move. I definitely let myself tilt due to the disappointing poker results over the last 2 weeks and the extra downswing I had on a day I'd been looking forward to crushing, along with the small fight with the GF. It was way stupid. Didn't seem it at the time, but in the morning reading peoples comments while fighting a hangover it seems very very stupid.
I just wanted to thank everyone for calling me out on it. I definitely don't want to be that type of poker player.
