match point-> PLO by nolan, February 12

well, i have decided i'm going to revert to hold em for my SNE grind. I just completed losing around 30bi or so in the last three sessions, and although I'm pretty sure it was "standard" variance (got it in deep a decent favorite multiple times and lost), what i'm not sure about is my ability to go through stretches like this (or even worse) and maintain SNE pace.

it's tough as well because in general i'm not as confident in my play as i would be in NLHE so the opportunity to "second guess" myself comes up way more often.

for your viewing pleasure here is my month at PLO
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/096711016dc5751b1a71f201facb32de.jpg

as you can see, pretty rough stuff. quitting a winner for the month though! unfortunately i'm down about 5k in NLHE playign some 5/10 over at FTP before I had to cash out my roll, so i am indeed stuck in the month, hopefully I can get in the swing of things in NLHE and at least break even. a losing month would probably mean i'd have to give up on SNE altogether, but I'm confident

For shits and giggles, this is my year graph at the PLO. I guess the swings are standard but I'm going to give it a rest for a while regardless, I may get back into it if I can find some decent coaching or something of the sort. It's actually missing another 5-10k in winnings from my laptop DB, but as you can see it's not the results I'd expect from my holdem play. At the heyday I was a 5ptbb winner but I think this is more something like 2.5 which isn't really acceptable for me. (Not because 2.5ptbb isn't an acceptable winrate, but rather if I were to go for SNE playing holdem at the same winrate it would take more hands which can be accomplished in the same amount of time, and thus my real life hourly would be better)

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/8d5543420716866faa4624d1fab67c19.jpg

Trying to stay positive, 30bi in 3 days is pretty unreal and something that probably couldn't happen at NLHE, but in a sense I was probably due for an epic bad run.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Sean.

nl50 by NeillyJQ, February 12

I've been swinging like mad on NL50..played a marathon yesterday in which i lost a ton, made back about 10 bi today though

my styles has high variance, but i have a great image to get paid on pretty much all hands, and there's many players i can continue to run over

adjusting to nl50 well imo, i will be playing very long session for now on, so expect a lot of hands, i had some realizations of what i could be making at nl50 everyday and today i showed myself i can make atleast 500 a day.

Ok so heres a couple graphs

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/9ce3f13a6047134c3f1866a9d5ad1bc2.jpg

I'm also platinumstar for the first time in about 6-9 months, woot~

swings aren't really bothering me, just constant play and working for supernova, i feel the bi's will flow in, in the long run, so now im mostly working on getting SN so I can get mad bonuses (im starting to think about sne...highly unlikely for this year but something to think about for the future)

GL LP,
Ryan

Cake vs FTP quick statistics by Night2o1, February 11

I noticed the games didn't look all that great at cake, and since I've moved there I have always said there are a LOt of regs.

I thought I'd make a quick comparison:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/9984a8dc8ad4c95a44300d26c48a4258.jpg

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/4873e65ec58b625692edf2cc0397e0cd.jpg

FTP nl100 - 18 tables - AVG player/flop: 30% - AVG pot size: $11.65 - AVG Hands/hour: 103

Cake nl100 - 18 tables - AVG player/flop: 15.4% - AVG pot size: $8.55 - AVG Hands/hour: 104

FTP nl50 - 18 tables - AVG player/flop: 31.27% - AVG pot size: $4.8

Cake nl50 - 19 tables - AVG player/flop: 26% - AVG pot size: $6.5

Any thoughts?

Rampage continues by ZenMagick, February 11

So the annihilation of 25nl continues. I will say that after my last post I had a 2 buyin downswing just as people had foreshadowed. But the next day things were back to normal. 50nl is definitely in the near future for me. I look forward to destroying it.

asking for a loan by goodguysm, February 11

Hey LP

Since I'm almost begging here, I'll outline honestly why I'm asking for a loan. $250, a BR for 10nl on stars, is what I ask.

1. I'm in my last semester of high school, it barely counts, and have very little schoolwork to do. I'm just waiting on univ. application decisions right now.
2. I cashed out my 25nl bankroll when I started 1st semester because I knew I wouldn't be playing for a long time. Since I live in the US, depositing will be awfully difficult.
3. I've been a consistent winner on 25nl for a large sample (80k+) and was a losing 50nl reg for a while. I'm asking for a loan for 10nl. $250.
4. Even though I took a 5 month break, I've been reading through LP quite a bit and am confident that I will be a winner at microstakes. Breaks really help imo.
5. I have never gone broke and I used to be very strict about my 20bi rule.

So I just wanna start a bankroll again. With a $250 loan, we will negotiate when and how much I will pay back. Ideally, I'd like to just pay back the loan amount, but we can negotiate some interest if that isn't possible.

I've gotten to know a few vouch-worthy LP'ers over MSN, so i hope those skeptical that i'm a scammer will be less harsh. Looking through the old posts on my blog might give you an idea of what kind of person/player I am.
Thanks

PM's are welcome. Thanks

Shipped a Snowboard by lazymej, February 11

So finally after about 4 years (lol) of wanting to get a setup I finally pulled the trigger and picked up some gear. The whole affair set me back like CAD $650 (my original budget was like $500 hah) and I pretty much love it. The weather is shitty though, it's above zero and raining right now, so I haven't been able to hit the mountains just yet. Can't wait for good conditions. Also going to be staying in a chalet by a mountain for spring break with my buddies, looking forward to that.

I pretty much haven't played any poker in February, have had zero desire to do so. So much for my goal of reaching 10K bankroll early February, that's definitely out the window. Oh well. Hope everyone is doing well, gl at the tables you mofos.

Sick winrate by longple, February 11

As I wrote in my last blogpost I've started to play 10$ SnG's.

Why have I never played these before?

in 5 days ive made a profit of 1366$
With a bankroll now of 1836$

This is my Graph:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/671d722607d0a1e64b6bcee9078c64f6.jpg

Im finally + again :D

My big losing streak took place for about 1 year ago, I was a spewing monkey who was tilted after a downswing of about 400$ when I played only HU 20$ SnGs
So what I did was to register to two 550$ 10max tournaments and obv went out pretty fast in both.

I donked around for a while playing HU sng's between 1000-1500 games played.

And 5 days ago I switched from my 20NL cashgame tables to try playing 10$ SnG's for a couple of days just to try something else. So I started playing the 6max and 30max/50max with some unexpected sucess. Ive won pretty moslty every 30/50max SnG ive registred to as you can see on the graph. And after 250 tourneys Ive made almost 1400$. Only on 10$ SnG's.

If you are a struggeling player on NL20-25 I def think you should try out the 10-20$ SnG's. They are very soft.

Im so happy right now, finally i've found a game that I completely crush!

Will stick to MTT's and SnG's. Still waiting for a nice big MTT win. That would be a great great boost.

I made a few calculations and I saw that I make 4x$/h in the 10$ sngs then I made on my old job^^

GL guys!

tonight poker was so crap all time then i got up few bis bad beats followed. Like total got bad beats like -10 bis i think. Cant help it get money in in better spot and they suck out 2 buy in over par vs overpair he gets into set and mf called 2 bis with TT

But reached my goal what i set tonight to reach 100 euro mark so i am up for tonight 32 euros 8 bis. Then i hit 120 euro mark i take 2 bi shot at 10nl ..see ya tomorrow

Update after finishing cash table i had one tournament open where i acidently registred ...so guess what ..even its not worth that 3 hours but it was definately worth of confidence what i got

One more time by OneInTheStink, February 11

After building my roll to 2k+ over and over, and blowing it at 10/20 after one losing session, i hope this time i've matured enough to grind poker for real this time. been pretty consistent but we'll see, this is my feburary graph so far. i still have major tilt issues, hopefully this time im not gonna play 10/20
