Going to my gf sister's wedding tomorrow and apparently Robert Williamson III is gonna be there cause he's good friends with my gf's dad and his brother. Not really all that exciting cause he's kind of a fish but its still interesting cause I used to watch him on t.v. back in the day lol. Just funny hearing her dad and the groom talk about poker cause they have no idea but I just stay out of it.
Yesterday I might have played the worst poker in my life. I dont know whats wrong with me. A few days ago I played really great and was almost in the zone. Then I got tilted from irl stuff and since then I cant get my game together.
As a desperation messure I saw a fish at NL400 and started playing at the table. Guess I shouldnt have done that. In like 50 hands I bumped into 4 sets/full houses when I had strong holdings so I kinda ended in the red yesterday
This failure got me started thinking what I wanted to do this summer and what I wanted with my pokerplay. I think I need to be brutally honoust with myself and not try to live up to my own expectations or w/e by making excuses etc.
The sad truth is that I havnt had a big winning month since november last year and I havnt been playing really good poker (except for a few sessions here and there) since then either. I kinda know in my heart I dont belong at NL400 right now (I felt it soo obvious yesterday) and if I dont play my A or B game I dont have a very solid winrate at NL200 either. The regulars has improved a lot and I have gotten rusty. Bad combo.
I had a goal of making 10BI at NL200 and as a treat I would go to Vegas. This hasnt had the impact is should have. I was up that at one point but then I got coolered a few times and then I started to give away money. The result became that I began feeling a bit stressed in my game - trying to win it back instead of just playing solid poker and rake in the money. As a result I started to play worse and here I am.
I have now decided that Vegas is a bad choice, even if I manage to win my 10BI. That amount wasnt about the money but an amount as a proof that my game was working and I was ready to go across the world to play cashgame and just have fun. Right now I dont feel like that at all. My game isnt working and I dont want to go there and just loose a bunch of money. I kinda feel the trip would be a failure and if nothing drasticly change that I will stay home.
This summer will instead be about taking back my game, improve it and giving myself the possibility to get higher. If I dont get better and drasticly improve my game I will quit poker in like 6 months from now. To go +-0 or as a slight winner at small/midstakes is not my dream and to waist time at something I dont want to do is just stupid. I still love the game but then I also want to pawn those sorry asses of regs and not just win over the fish. If I cant reach this I will just go on with my life and make a carrer in another area.
Since this is pretty much my last attempt at getting better and be a pokerplayer I think I will do pretty much everything to give myself this possibility. Even if its a big discussion if its +EV or not I think I will buy CTS book "Let there be range" for 1k$. I also might buy his omaha book and start playing omaha but I dont know if thats such a good idea. Better start getting good at holdem first!
I also will take up watching CR videos and analyse a lot more hands then I am doing now from my PT3 DB.

I went to a Brewer game on Memorial day and there was a prize giveaway to win tickets to the World Series so we all filled out the handout quickly and just assumed we'd lose and not hear a thing. This morning I received a call from some random women telling me I was selected to win a free cruise/airfare/all other expenses except alcohol if I'd just come to there office for an appointment to "hear about there company". Apparently they believe strongly in word of mouth advertising. Anyway to the point, I'm pretty apprehensive since this seems like utter bullshit, however, I'm curious what LP thinks. So here goes bullshit or not?
Damn rollar coaster of a month continues. I'm on so much fucking tilt right now, nothing fucking wins and I never fucking flop well, set % at a whole 3% woot, Also down with AA and KK. So damn annoying.

anyway limited play today up 4 buy ins even though AA cracked 3x times. close to 20 buy ins, once i reach 20 buy ins i'll prob take a shot at 1 level higher. if i lose, regrind to 20 and repeat up to 3x times. if i fail 3x times prob just grind till 25 buy ins and retry.
limited play due to tests, having to drive all the way to my parents to "fix" the computer aka installing standard software. gonna install tightvnc so i don't have to drive there all the time. as well as desperately trying to get my hands on magic tickets for game 4. which is tomorrow.

Damn just come home from the local casino,played a sit go of 30$ with rebuys got second for like 300$ and then decide to stay to play cash.some huge fish with lots of $$$ come.so i sit with like 400$ the game is running like 2/5$.
at first we played 3 handed in like 5 hands i made a str8 and trips got my stack around 1k,in like one hour the table was full and everyone had at least 1k in front.

God its so tilting when you fold PF low-mid pocket pairs to big raisers and u woulda flopped sets/boats, or when you fold AQs preflop to a min raise,3bet and shove all in, and then see nut flush on flop, or when you fold J9 on the button because you know the big blind never checks, he alwaaaays calls or raises, and see the flop go 9 J 9. FUCK it can be so fucking tilting sometimes.
And then when you get your hands in good and you loose every fucking flop known to man. Or when you cbet your top pair, and the lagtard catchs his one in a billion gutshot on the river. 60hours of playtime for no reason..
I feel like i play really great, but this is how its been for me the last 4 months, i cant seem to advance, ive been stuck in 10NL and 25NL for the last month and cant seem to have a streak of god run to move up the limits again
BR went from like 300$ to 4000$ in last year/around newyears. Since 2009 started ive moved down to like 500$ BR, always with the same EV graphs. Last month i ended up almost 70 buy ins under EV.
Would like to remember the last time a set held up vs a retarded T high flush draw, or the time AA held up against JJ preflop..
As I get older I find myself becoming more and more of a movie critic. Network, a movie made in 1976, is a great movie that I just recently heard of and watched. I highly recommend it to anyone that hasn't seen it. The fact that I'm making this blog about it is obv proof enough that in my eyes it is a solid and worth watching movie.
What is so superbly awesome about this movie is that even tho it is an older movie, as time goes on, "Network" seems to become so obviously more applicable and pertinent to things/events of today it's just amazing. This movie imo is a great simple first step into understanding what the hell is going on.
Anyone that thinks or says we have "evolved" since the founding of this country or says that the battles and issues that are being fought today are something new and advanced either have absolutely zero clue themselves or are telling you this because they want you to continue having no clue of your own and want to get your eye & emotion off of what is important.
There are always these keywords you should learn and remember to apply or try to find in a debate. Balance and principles. Learn those for yourselves and you will see things haven't really changed at all.
Anyhow, I don't usually post info about what happened in a movie nor do I like seeing clips of the movie I want to watch before I actually watch it. I realize however this isn't always the case for everyone and me posting this youtube clip doesn't force u to play it while watching this vid might actually perk your interest alot more than my babbling so...
