Another good day (despite UB) by RAHZero, February 07

Just finished another solid day of grinding. That said, it could have potentially been a monster day, if I hadn't lost two big pots preflop: the first with JJ against a tilter's AKo (this guy was on mad tilt) when he hit an ace, the second with KK against TT that hit his T. Big pots I won were two with sets: 44 against AJs on a J74 flop, 77 vs. AKo on an A73 flop. Took down a HUGE pot with QQ against J6o and 65s on a JJxxQ board. Played that one really well, only put in one bet when behind, almost everything went in on the river (65s rivered a flush). Overall, I think I'm playing very well over the last few days, maybe even better than my WR over them (which is a not-too-shabby 7.5 PTBB/100). After today, I'm $260 away from my goal for moving back to NL 100. I also should easily surpass 2,000 UB points for the week, which means a $150 bonus.

Results: +$114.95 in 1540 hands.

Day 35 by The72o, February 07

Stakes: NL50
VPiP: 15.40
PFR: 8.82
Hands: 2.085

Amount Won: 34.11
PTbb/100: 1.64
Hours: 3.62
MT: 6.67

As usual many suckouts, but most in small pots or vs shortstacks, so it's fine.
But one hand ended pretty bad for me. I had KK in 3 way all-in preflop action (vs JJ and AQ) and lost 300bb pot to AQ on board XXXQA.

THE hand by Baal, February 07

So i lost a HUGE HUGE pot today, i made a mistake of betting the turn soft, somehow i tought this guy had a random King, his "won at showdown %" was 25" (wtf?), for anyone who uses PT should realize i were quite happy with my hand here.

Turn was the BEST card possible, even better than an Ace KQ got owned and 88 is extremely unlikely, so start betting, i never tought about a backdoor flush draw obv and BAM bitch, pwned.

I still ended up 1300 up for the session, but damn i would be like 2400 up if it were other river.

PokerWize aka PokerConfusion by PetrBlaha, February 07

I can't play poker for 26 hours now because of PokerWize room withdrawal mechanics (they dont withdraw 24hours in case you would change your mind so u can reverse-withdraw . Seriously WTF) , if you want to know my feelings about this "GREAT" pokerroom , here is my mail to them

Hello
Today at 15:30 I've installed pokerwize to try it and clear some bonuses there, at 15:40 I was withdrawing my cash, these are the reasons

1) Instalation

400 mb ? Other pokerrooms has only 1/20 of yours at most ! Who really cares about singleplayer (which I think makes it so large)

2) Graphic and visualizations

I have AMD 2700+ procesor but I wasnt able to play "clearly" even 2 (!!!!) tables . And if it interfere into second monitor (i have dual monitors) it was reallllllly annoying

Table visualization, you must be really kidding me I couldnt see anything because of those "flashy everywhere" stuff.
Everyone prefer to stay it clear not what I could see there, custom players only lagged whole game, dealing was slow (as everything else).
When I wanted to adjust size of table, suddenly all those windows with player names came to left side so it made really confusing. It's hard to see who has hand and who folded.
Camera views... seriously what the hell is this supose to mean?
Tooltips on dealer which said :click on dealer to rebuy... I clicked and nothing hapenned.

3) Waiting lists

Now this was so great ! I wanted to wait for some nl cash game but it point me to some 7stud free games etc.

and many many more things because of them I've decided to leave promptly

Long story short : Your pokerroom shouldnt be named PokerWize bud PokerConfusion because this is state in which your room is

Best regards and have a nice day

Petr "Niether" Blaha

I'd never ever go there again, I've never seen worse pokerroom, feel free to correct me but this is really serious shit...

A bad start... by ConquistadoR, February 07

So i played a short session today. First played some 3$ sngs, broke pretty much even there.

Then i started playing some nl25, it went good first, but then it happened. Every AA got sucked out on, set vs overset, etc. All in all another solid losing session, not unexpected, which brings my br down to 419$. Probably shouldnt even play nl25 anymore, im just hoping i can finally stop running bad. At least i played very good and didnt tilt 1 time.

http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/9856/yo1oy7.jpg

My plan is to get 3 of the 650$ fpp store bonuses, and for each one to clear i need to collect 4550 base fpps. so moving down isnt really a option, i barely get fpps even at nl25. Im probably one of the only platinumstar thats playing at nl25 lol. =[

Here you can see after 3 days of playing, still not a big process.

http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/2645/yo3il8.jpg

Or maybe ill just get like 7 ipods and sell them over ebay to get my roll back faster, hmm.

Here is my pathetic graph for today. Planned on playing 2k hands at least, but i stopped because i could feel the anger and tilt coming.

http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/5169/yo2wa9.jpg

Well at least im still in the 3$+R. Not like im gonna win anything though.

The begining by THE RISE, February 07

About two weeks ago I decided to start playing 2/4NL on stars and see where things go from there. I started with a small 8k roll and have managed to run it up to ~36k so far I figure once I get 45k or so I will move to 5/10NL. I have tried palying 3/6 and it went well but the game is insanley aggresive preflop - while this is something I don't mind and can adjust to I rather play 2/4NL because the varience is smaller and the money is almost the same.

So far I've been running decent, interestingly enough everytime I seem to be getting called a lot, there are a ton of stations on 2/4. Almost every time I make a read on someone and shove because they are weak - they call with their weak holding, no one seems to be capable of folding. I've lost a few big pots trying to push people off garbage like pair of 9's or top pair medium kicker.

Today went soso - I'm playing slightly tighter than usual (only ~26/20 compared to my usual 30%+ vpip) because of the reasons stated above but still managed to make ~8 buy ins in about 2k hands so it's a decent day. I may play later on in the evening but not 100% sure yet.

Going out to buy some new futniture for my room so it looks more civilized. At the moment most of my clothes (clean and dirty) are all on the floor and my computer desk is just a big flat peice of wood with two monitors on it

I also don't post many hands because my HH's are stored in Poker-Tracker. But if anyone wants I can start posting some (if there is any interest)

Finally a winning day. by anon, February 07

Yesterday i was sure i would take a break from poker, but today i came back from university and really felt like playing. So decided to give a shot. First short session was good i was up 3 buy-ins, playing very good, i was really satisfied with my play, then after 1 more lecture i had another session, where i won one more buy-in, but the play was rather poor, made some really terrible calls, for what i hate myself . And i have just finnished my 3rd session of the day, where i lost 1 buy-in, played decently i guess. It's the time that UB usually has a high number of 1/2 nl tables, however now there are only 4 tables full of decent regulars, and only 0-2 fish at the table sitting short stacked. So playing is really EV- right now , since you won't win money from regulars easily. I am really lost. I think it's time to leave UB, there are too many regulars that eat the money of fish very fast and number of new fishies isn't high enough.
Overally i up today around 800$, which is great since i ihad some dry streak, but still played rather poorly in some situations. I will post the hands:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/143205
played this very fishy, i was confused on flop since he overbet it a bit, so i miniraised, then he minraised me back( shark fight), i called and he instantly pushed on turn, i really felt he was weak(low pocket pair?, flsuh draw?)w/e i thought i had been ahead there. But overally i hate the way i played this hand.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/143208
Another very very stupid call, this guy is good reguler, i really felt like he was semi bluffing with a draw, but didn't had the balls to check raise all-in him on turn, but still called the river. well what can i say my play is really poor nowadays.
There rest loses where some small setups, so i don't really care about them. Winning hands are some standart, the only i liked were these:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/143211

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/143212

Today is a bit brighter than few last days, but still i have a decision to make, should i leave UB or not, i am leaning towards leaving but i don't know where to go, i would go Partypoker, but i don't feel safe having illegal rakeback, when PartyPoker has some rude history for their actions taken agaisnt some players.

bad luck continues live as well by SneakrFreakr, February 07

So I got to the casino about 11pm and had to wait about an hour for cash games to begin. This time I sat with a full stack. A few familiar faces at the table, probably two solid players, rest is very mediocre or donkish. Only 2 other people buyin for full, rest is sitting with 25bb and 50bb stacks. Just to remind you, I was playing £2/£2 pot limit game and the ones that post the blind in every hand are button and person sitting next to his left. Yeah I know it's strange - haven't seen it before.

First hand I'm dealt 7s8s on the BB. Early position raises to £7. 5 callers so I call as well. Flop comes 9hTdJh and I bet pot which was £44. Middle position player think for a while and puts the rest of his stack in. It's about £30 more to me so I obviously call. On the river I proudly show my str8 when flush draw, str8 draw missed and the board didn't pair but he show KQ. Nice hand.

I continue playing a bit agressively in position in certain spots, taking down a few pots on the flop. I'm not getting any good cards, not hitting any flops but somehow my stack is growing a bit. After an hour or two I get AQ in early position and make a pot sized raise to £14 after button raised to £4 in blind before the hand. Cut off and button both call and we head to the flop which comes 7 9 Q rainbow. The pot is approximately £50 so I bet out £35. CO folds and button is thinking for a while. He pushes for additional £90 and now I'm facing a tough decision. The villain is a pretty tight but agressive player. What's your decision here?

A few hands later a very bad player joins the table. He's got loads of cash, he never folds, always tries to bluff etc. Perfect opponent but unfortunetaly he's sitting 3 seats to my left. He and the other guy limp in early position, 2 more limpers and I raise pot on the BB. Bad player reraises me by the size of the pot. Everyone folds (except for the guy to my left) and I'm facing another tough decision, this time with AK. I'm 99% sure that he's holding a small/medium pocket pair but I don't want to flip a coin with him for his stack as I know that I can put my money in a better spot. I fold and the guy to my left calls. Flop comes A36 with two hearts. Guy to my left bets pot, bad players pushes. Guy to my left calls and shows AQ. Turn is a heart, river is a heart and the bad player shows 7h7x. I didn't have a heart so I'd lose a huge pot if I reraise this guy again preflop. Later on he loses loads of cash in spots like this: 400bb pot. Board is 6 8 9 7 9. Showdown: solid player shows A7, the very bad guy shows A6. WTF?! And they were racing and reraising each other on the flop. Turn was a big bet called by the solid guy, river solid guy pushes for his last £50 and the bad guy calls. Now you know why this game is so juicy.

An hour later I get AQ again. Raise pot. Get one caller. Flop is 38Q with two spades. I bet, he raises leaving himself like £15 left so I put him allin. He shows QT and what comes on the turn? Yes a ten!

Then I get KK, AA and JJ in the span of 15 mins but get called only preflop and everyone folds on the flop. Then for the next 2 hours or so the best hand I got was 77 (and I had to fold preflop since there was a raise and a reraise before me). Overally I ended up losing about £140 but I felt I played pretty good, mixing my game a lot, c-betting in the right spots (in fact I think that every time I was c-betting with air my opponents folded so I was picking the spots very well). The only thing I'm very unhappy about is that I didn't stack this bad player but I hope that he'll be playing the next time I'll be there and I'll definitely take a seat next to his left.

So all together yesterday was a pretty fucked up day (not the worst in my "career" though). I lost about $460 online and £140 live so that makes a total of about $740. Let's hope the things will start getting better. Now it's 5pm and I woke up just about an hour ago so I pretty much wasted the big part of my day sleeping. But I was really tired after a 4hr session online and almost 6hrs in casino. Now it's time to take a shower, eat sth and either clean up my room a bit (but it's impossible with 4 large bags of my dirtly clothes lying on the floor - and once again I can't do the laundry today cause all the heaters are in use by my flatmates) or play some poker (which definitely sounds more fun). But I think I'll just take a one day brake today after a bad day to clear my mind a bit, etc. I'll watch the new episode of HSP and maybe 2 vids from CR. In the evening I'm going out with my friends to this new club in Manchester that's called Birdcage. There's a nice party over there every Wednesday, which is called "Rehab". Should be a good night out. Tommorow unfortunetaly I'm working but the good part is that it's one of my last 4 shifts.

Sick! by DustySwedeDude, February 07

I just can't seem to win an hand today. Down 4 buyins in like an hours or so. The biggest pot I've won was like 25bb or something. I'll just play some omaha again and do some schoolwork. It'd be very nice to actually run good for more then 1k hands in a row or something. God damn it! At least I'm playing somewhat decent and my roll is healthy. I've got a micro-limit homegame to play tonight too, which might be mad fun. Anyway, things always work out in the end, right?

Running hot by seweri, February 07

So didn't have time to summarize my monday session here... It was nothing special, grinded a few buy-ins or so. But my tuesday session, it was special and I was running good as hell. For the first 15 hands :D

After that I didn't catch anything special and slowly donked some of my initial winnings back when someone always raised my c-bet or something like that.

Just before I stopped playing I won some biggish hands, can't even remember what and basically stopped at the same point I was in after 15 hands :D

The reason this session was so short was because a friend of mine asked me for a couple of beers cause it was his birthday yesterday. Being the good friend I am I sacrificed my poker session and went to down a few beers. Mmmmm, beeeer..

Anyways, we went to this pub that was put up by some gambler for gamblers. So they have a big screen that shows sports all the time and you can ask for a chipset + cards if you want to play poker. There were three of us there and we decided to play some live NL10! Balla!

I was down about 25e but I got lucky a few times so I won 10e. Yaj. The game was obviously very loose between me and the birthday boy, the third guy wasn't drinking so he was a bit nittier :D After the game and a few beers we wanted to smoke some weed so we got some and came back to my place... Smoking with this guy is awesome, although my stomach always hurts from laughing so much. Good times, good times...

But back to poker... Just wanna let you all see this short heater... Here's the graph

http://img390.imageshack.us/img390/254/instashipitts8.jpg

and here are the hands that led to this:

Ok, that's all I have for now. Cheers!

Things are looking up... by RAHZero, February 06

Well, today was the first really good day in a while. Overall, I'm really satisfied with my play today. The stats weren't tremendous (+$107.35 in 1393 hands), but given some of the coolers, etc. that I was dealt, I think I played about as well as I could have today. I made a nice 3-bet and steal with KQ from the SB facing a button raise (pretty sure he folded JJ or so on the flop to me given his chat), and played much more aggressively than I have in the past. My stats have been getting nittish lately, but today they were a very healthy 19/14/3.

The ugly:

AKs vs. 88 on an AK8 flop. We know how that ends, put me in the hole early. Luckily he was short-stacked, so I didn't lose a full buy-in.

KK vs. 77 on a Q72 flop. Guy played it way weirdly, check-calling the flop and turn with the flush draw out there and then donking into me on the river. Really thought he had a busted draw there, good thing I flat called instead of raising.

Trying to double barrel a shortstack with QTs that completely missed. Bad idea in retrospect, but didn't cost me too much.

K2 vs. T2 on a 5422T board in a blind vs. blind battle. Luckily I didn't lose too much here, the flop was checked thorugh, I bet the pot ($1) on the turn and then called a smallish river checkraise.

The good:

KK vs. Qh3h on a Th7h2xQx board. I had gone on a monster rush at this table, and kept raising and three betting the huge fish on my right. Finally busted him with this hand.

33 vs. AQ on a A837Q board, against the afformentioned donk. I raised PF and bet all three streets for value. I'll be damned if I know how I didn't stack him here, he was putting way too much money into the pot with marginal hands and then check-called the river here with top two pair with no straight or flush possible.

66 vs. a shorty's 77 on a multiway 96x flop.

Lots of other medium sized pots. I built my way back from -$75ish to the green without winning any huge pots, and the KK hand was my only full stackage of the night. Overall a good night, and hopefully a session then can help me rebound from the rough downswing I've been on lately. According to the plan, $375 left to go before I try and move back up to NL 100.

Here's a graph of my two sessions of the day.
Funny, each time I start a session, I'm up about 4 buyins in 500 hands, but by the end of the session, it is reduced to dust.

A tale of two players by Daut, February 06

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

So here are my stats since the beginning of the year.

25/50 nl:

10/20 and 25/50 plo:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/Daut/statseverythingelse.JPG

WTF is wrong with me when i play lower stakes NL. It's basically a combination of me going crazy in certain spots where I want to fight for every pot and running bad. Whatever. Die msnl. I think im just not going to play it anymore because I have PLO as a backup when the 25/50 NL tables are somewhat dead. Still, it saddens me to have all those red spots in my PT. oh well, i guess they are there to stay.

I've been pretty lazy in terms of paint, but I got a good one from my buddy brian, hes a math phd student up at UM.

So there is this site, www.3xterrorists.com. Check it out. Basically, 3 former terrorists go around campaigning for freedom. Well anyway, last week these 3 guys were giving a talk up at brian's school. he decided to draw a little picture of what went on during the talk.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/Daut/3xterrorists.JPG

As you can see these guys are not to be trusted. If they are coming to your school run for your lives.

So I'm totally addicted to the wire. Have watched the first 2 seasons in a week, am going to buy the 3rd season tomorrow. The best part about the show is that every recurring character is awesome, and they are all so well developed.

OH SHIT. LOST comes back tomorrow. totally forgot about that. oh baby im pretty pumped. shit was going down last episode, hopefully it doesnt end in a lame retard way, especially after a 16 week break.

ok, enough rambling for now. i promise more artwork next time.

Day 2 by jchanhm, February 06

Day 2: Feb 6, 2007

Start: $37.32
Close: $43.42
Profit: $6.10

I had a horrible start today, losing $7 in the first hour that I played. And really the only thing I can say is, it was bad playing on my part.

So I took a break, cooked dinner, and then sat down again with my mind fresh. I slowly won back my money by playing carefully. Then, I got my big break when I re-raised all in against two fish who called me when I had pocket 3's, with the board A3x . An A came up on the turn giving me a full house, netting me around $6 in that one pot and pushing me up to my goal of 1 buy-in per day.

New lesson: Don't play when you're feeling like crap.

Wait, wasn't that yesterday's lesson of the day?

I might play again later tonight.. then again, I might not.

[Edit]
Just wanted to post some goals.

Daily: Make 1 buy in per day . Don't play if I'm not playing my A game, even if I'm losing and can't reach my 1 buy-in goal.

Short Term: Reach $10NL by March 15 (~1.5 months from now)

Long Term: Try to increase my limits every 1.5 months, so I can reach $1/$2 by mid September.

This is going off of the 20 buy-in model that I read about on this site. I'm not sure how realistic these goals are, but it's a start.
