Feb. 12th... "Teh Battlezz" by Svenman87, February 12

I started playing at about 1am last night... and it was rough.

I ended up dropping ~5 buy-ins in 30 minutes. 3 set-up hands and 1+ to pure monkey tilt/bluffs/I'm an idiot.

I stopped for a few hours watched a few CR videos and went back into the action

This time i went back on three .15/.30 Deep Stack Tables and one 100NL table It went fairly well and i managed to pick up ~100 before calling it quits.

Finally I decided there is no way i'm remaining in the red on my poker tracker in net profit/loss so I grinded my ass off on two tables of 100NL and two of 50NL

and the final result was this:

Up and Down Weekend by Benzooor, February 12

First off thanks for the bankroll management advice on my last post. I'm aware that it's atrocious but until recently I really used online poker more as a "hey, let's put 100$ on and have something to do when I get bored," rather than "lets make money." I'm well aware of the concept of money management as I have been demo-trading forex for about 6 months and money management is HUGE in that market.

[ALL SUITS // HANDS APPROXIMATE]

Anyways, Saturday afternoon after lunch with my girlfriend my buddy called me up for a cash game. It was with these guys from Vegas that I have only played with once before. I have not had success with them before. They are somewhat loose, and love to reraise. We were playing .50/1$, but if you raised anything less than 6$ odds were someone would bump it up 10$ to try and steal. We had a full 9-person table with 2 waiting, and I just could NOT hit a card to save my life. I saw pocket 3's a bunch, and knocked out a shorter stack when I was holding(**all suits approximate**) 3d3c the flop came 3h2s6c. He was holding 4h5h, but I sucked out with a 6d on the turn.

From that point on I just proceeded to bleed chips continously. There was an Arab guy sitting to my left that just called EVERYTHING that I was betting at him, and drew out on me all the time. I lost a big hand when my Jd9d hit a Th8cKd flop, turned the Qc, but the other player had AcJh. Not a whole lot I could do in that situation, I bet 15$ on the turn and he reraised all-in for 25$ more into a 75$ pot (I had led off with a bet on the flop, there was a raise to 5 or 6$ pre-flop which I called in SB after 4 or 5 people called as well).

Finally my pocket 9's (the best hand I'd seen all night) busted to AK for my last 30$. UTG had raised to 6$ and 3 other people had called, I pushed on the button and AKs in the SB pushed on top of me and everyone else folded.

..

So I ended that game down 200$. Not terrible but a definite dent.

..

Later that night at a party I was talking to a few friends and we decided to get a small house game going the next afternoon. I brought 20$. So we played a 7-way 10$ tournament, which I won, but I ended up giving 2nd place 30$ of the pot since he was poor and it was a friendly game (and I knew I would crush him headsup).

Then we played a 5$ tournament on a game we made up called blackjack hold'em. Basically (as you can guess) it's texas hold'em with one of your hole cards flipped up on the deal. It's a very fun game when it's at least 4way, but smaller than that it's just kind of dumb (headsup when your opponent has top pair showing . I also won this.

So I had turned that 20$ into 80$, and 3 of us took off to play a .50/1$ game with another group of players that we have played with the last few weeks or so. These players I have been very successful against. I've played with them about 4 or 5 times and I'm probably up about 800$-1k$.

The game was 9-handed, with one or two people waiting at a time usually.

I bought in for 80$, lost about 20$ when someoen sucked out on me with an ace on the river (he was chasing flush draw) and started out doubling up when I had AsJh and the flop came 7sJs3s; one of the guys who had bought in for $160 (everyone else had bought in for 80-100) was trying to bully me PF and bet the flop hard for about 25$, I pushed on him and he called me with KJ, I turned a 2s and he was drawing dead.

I was playing very good poker, making good laydowns, bluffing at appropriate times, valuebetting, and actually HITTING CARDS. I felted two people when there was a live straddle to 2$, 4 called and I raised to 7$ with 9h9s on the button. FIVE people called to see the flop, which came Kc9dQh; SB bet 12$, folded around to shortstack in MP, who pushed in for 10$ more; and I raised to 45$ more, putting the SB all-in. SB was holding KJ, MP was holding KT; Their gutshots didn't hit and I took down the huge pot.

After about 4 hours, I was up nearly 300$

So in all, it was a good weekend, turning 20$ to 300+ on sunday was a good feeling after blowing 200$ on saturday.

Im only working until 9pm weekdays now, so I will be able to play much more live games. We've got a great scene going on here, there is a good full cash game every night of the week pretty much, with tournaments every wednesday, staurday, sunday, and scattered throughout with turnouts of anywehre from 8 to 40+.

I'm facing online as just a challenge to grow the account now, I was only able to play for about an hour online this weekend, but grew the acc up to 45$, so I'm much safer now that I'm not risking 100% of my BR on the table. Not that having 45$ is that much better, but it's an improvement.

It's marvelous how much time I have to type while running HDD diags at work

Cheers!

Rant #3 @ reverse withdrawal by PetrBlaha, February 12

Now I get justice in my hands and very angry I've clicked on smiling face with 24/7 support text on it.

Shaundell1 has joined.
Nietherr: Hello this is email I've sent to your support. But they seems to ignore this question so I have to ask you...."today I wanted to cash out some of my money from your poker room because of very need of those funds as soon as possible but your software told me that it will be processed after 3 days. I really can't wait for 3 days to process this cash out. Can you please "speed up" cashing out of my money? I wouldn't have mailed about this if I wouldn't really need those money (now this is kinda lie but you know u have to sound really passionate :D "
Shaundell1: Welcome to Chat!
Nietherr: hello !
Shaundell1: I have located your account. Before we proceed, please confirm the first 2 characters of your password.
Nietherr: **
Shaundell1: Thank you Petr.
Shaundell1: Unfortunately, this is our policy and there are no exceptions.
Nietherr: Do you really think that its normal and fair not to let people cash out whenever they want whatever they want to? I really don't want to do any problems I just want money that pacific poker is holding not wanting to release them at any costs?
Nietherr: I'm just asking your common sense..
Shaundell1: This is our cash out policy. You can cash out at any time you wish however, the three day processing period is where we cross reference your information ensuring that we are sending the funds to the correct individual.
Nietherr: So it takes 3 days to pacific poker whereas partypoker and pokerstars withdraw is dont at about one hour? I must say, you have really fast people working out there. Not to speak arrogantly and agressive but this seems like the only think why you keep those 3 days is because you want people to lost patience and reverse withdraw it back to your pokerroom.
Nietherr: dont= done
Shaundell1: That is not so. We do have our policies that were put in place to secure you our members.
Nietherr: Thank you very much for this security, anyways this is the reason why when I'd like to go to pacific poker to play and make some rake for you, I won't.... anyway....sorry, I don't want to bash you, I understand that you have your job and it's out of your hands. I don't want to be jerk, just please understand my point of view
Nietherr: Thank you very much for your time, sorry for my bad english and have a nice day

Never ever go there again. Really great security...

swingaments? by nolan, February 12

Ahh, I've been playing pretty poorly lately and not running so great either. (Kudos to whoever called out the downswing in my earlier blog post). Fortunately I played a solid 2k hand session today and sorta broke out of it. Only recouped about half the losses though

It's been really cold up here, and I'm happy I haven't been called out to work the docks lately (I work for a commercial lobstering company from time to time, it's a friend's family run business so sometimes they're desperate and have me drive up since I go to school right near Maine). It would really suck and I'm all set financially thankfully. Plus last time I worked an 8 pounder snagged my right hand and ripped a good peice of skin off, I'll try and get a picture up later, but the scar looks kind of viscious.

Lately I've been all weirded out and thinking about life and stuff, I think it's because I'm approaching senior year of college and I really have to think about things seriously. My uncle is a hot shot CPA and called me today to talk about interning in Manhattan with him which would be interesting but is frankly fairly intimidating. I'm too hood for the real world.

Also, there's a really interesting thread over at 2+2 about some guy who is mimicking SBrugby's bankroll building strat (Start with 1k, play 100nl until 10 buyins for 200nl etc all the way up to 5/10.) I think it's interesting and I don't have the thread off hand but if you can find it it will be real interesting.

Check out my recent hands for todays session (Feb 12th), the tables were kinda nutty there is some real gems in there (Calling 4 bets with 35dd is standard?).

Cheers, Nolan

Not Again Reverse-Withdrawal !!! by PetrBlaha, February 12

Now this starts to be fucking sick. When I wanted to cash out from pacific poker (Due to 4max table limit)it told me my cash out will be processed after 3 days so I could possibly reverse my withdrawal
.
.
.
.
.
What the FUCK?

Since when they don't let me do whatever I want to do with my cash? Since when they have right to stop my cashouting? When I will ever again try some new pokerroom, I will be sure to first check out their cashouting process.
I've mailed them about it but after ~8 hours they dont seems to be responding at all.

I'm fucking mad angry!

On the other hand

this is great song from Johnny Cash (last one), I'm already trying to master it on my guitar since it's simple to learn. Be sure to check it out, it's really GREAT ! so emmotional, he very much knew at this time about his own mortality realizing what is quickly aproaching. Be sure to check it out.

BTW pacific are still bitches.

Columbia pictures present: The Nit by baxteru, February 12

Main character: baxteru

Movie time. I downloaded Babel and Apocalypto this weekend and i plan to watch them again after i finish this. I've seen them and i'll probably not watch everything. In the morning i wakened up thinking about The Matrix [weird]... i should watch that again. I want to see the big fight -- Neo with Agent Smith's clones, the chase on the highway, and when Trinity jumps with the bike
I also want to see Bad Santa, if any of you didn't see it it's a must.
I want to download Queen and other Oscar nominated movies. I don't want to miss all the fuss.

I played 50 nl today. No special hands tho...

Oh and i almost forgot... i've pissed of my "boss" today in a suicidal atempt to defy her. The stupid thing is that i can't stop laughing thinking about it and its pretty bad. I hate my job.

I still rule. by SakiSaki, February 12

Things are looking up for the college dropout. I didnt play any cash yesterday cause I was so fucking hung over, so I decided to play some tours. Tried to sattelite into the big sunday tours on stars and party but failed miserably T_T I played a 22$ rebuy instead and it went pretty well until party fucked us all over.

Partypoker was my first love in poker and I still have great affection for the site. As Cat Stevens says, the first cut is the deepest. But sometimes its just too obvious how retarded party is. With 35 players left in the tour (30 gets paid) the tourny suddenly froze. Apparently something bugged and the tour never started running again. This after like 3 hours of playing. I was a little below average in chips and party made some retarded plit of the prizemoney based on chipcount so I got like 150$ deposited into my account today. FUCK YOU PARTY!

Awell, its all good though. Just finished a pretty long session of 8-tabling 200nl ending up +$1400. Ship it.

My favorite hand of the day: http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/145064

The conversation that followed is just plain golden:

FMAOP: what an idiot raising limpers with A3 suited?
FMAOP: whats that for an idiot?
HittiLitti: lucky one
SakiSakii: blame it on the boogie
FMAOP: thats enough bad play for 78 hand s today omglol
arthuro12: thats Poker
SakiSakii: nice raise with j2s
KidDjango___: u lost didnt you!..lol
FMAOP: against you
FMAOP: cards doesnt matter noob
FMAOP: you have vpip of54%lol
FMAOP: A3 suited ...tststs
FMAOP has left the table.

Here are my stats so far:

On another note, I spilled coke all over my keyboard yesterday so now its all sticky and shit and really hard to type

Finally! Hello Bog! by tilted fish, February 12

I dont know what I did but I am finally able to login to these blogs instead of getting an error that doesnt make sense.

Anyways,

I am 22, student, and I started playing poker 2 summers ago. Playing very long low-stakes games with friends, but they were too easy, except Capaneo, he was always lucky.

I deposited my first $50 into Stars while visitng family in US.
I had nothing to do for 3 weeks really, so I spend alot of time drinking beers and shooting prairie dogs in that small town in Arizona.
oh yea 1 shot 3 targets:
http://www.ownbyphotography.com/Prairie-Dogs.jpg

Now you might think this is unrelated to poker but you are wrong. These fuckers are fast and they dig the ground like a mother fucker. It takes alot of patience to find one in close shooting range ( I had a crappy gun).

See its very much like set hunting, you have to wait for them to stick their head above the ground or come out of the hole completly and BAM! they squil take few steps and die. but its tough.
Once you hit them, well it feels as good as stacking some2 with your set of dueces.
These guys know what I am talking about:
http://www.aaoutfitter.com/images/200...ummer/da-boys-and-Kristen-prairie.jpg
http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o59/tiltedfish/a.jpg
Anyways shooting these fuckers and drinking beer was allright but I had to find a way to entertain myself at nights (oh GROW UP!) and thats how it all began. I deposit $50 into stars and started with 2nl.

I am now at 50nl. I thank Capaneo and this website for the poker knowlege, but I hope to stack each and everyone of you and break your BRs...

Thats all for now, I post random stuff poker or non-poker related. Random is good.

BR = Started by SKoT, February 12

Just got 130$ on FTP so I could be (semi)properly rolled for 10nl. I lurk around here alot and feel like I have a pretty good grasp of the game by now, I have played quite a bit online and have torn up 10NL before. Here's to hoping ill be moving up asap. Svenman from these forums used to be my roommate before he dropped out and I stole his headphones. In any case, I'll mainly use this blog to keep track of progress and complain about bad beats so it should be fun. I have a paper due in 7 hours I haven't started on so I cant make this long but I'll show my amazing graph for my first mini session. Totally going to keep up that bb/100 hands forever obv.

Finally caved in... by TheTrees, February 11

Thought it might be a good idea to create a blog. I'll start this show by giving a little back round about myself: I'm an 18 year old college student at Florida State University (Tallahassee, Florida). Outside of playing poker I enjoy drinking / partying / hanging out with friends - the norms of college.

Before college I found myself playing Starcraft daily (now I realize it was a great waste but I did end up meeting some really good friends that I still talk to). I used the account ()utlaw(sphere) as long as multiple others. Played that game for over 6 years.

Poker had always interested me. I remember watching some poker shows on TV when I was around 14 and signed up for pokerstars (don't tell lee). I donked around the play money scene and made a few million play chips and then sold them (made around $200 total). After that I got back into starcraft which eventually brought me to where I am today. I put poker on the backburner until some good friends on BW told me I should give it a shot: clawson and murray. I had always wanted to put money on, but my parents credit card never worked. So finally after hearing about the grandeur of online poker, I sought out alternative methods to get money online (little less than a year ago, around May). After successfully putting money into pokerstars, I began to play the 5NL tables. I was extremely nervous and I can still remember how excited I was when I won my first pot. I always considered myself to be good at poker, however, that foolish thinking was soon destroyed as I saw my BR dip down to $35. I went on MSN and asked uT)murray for some advice on how to play: he forwared me the link to grot's guide. From then on I shot up and was making some really decent money on 5NL. I moved up to 10NL with about a $300 roll within a week or so. After having some slight trouble, I was pulling in 4-5 BI in a day. After another week of playing I hit 25NL with around a $1000. This is where the inexperience and the drone like playing caught up to me - I was able to go up to $1200 but broke even daily for about 5 days and was extremely furious about 25NL. So I made the intelligent move and wandered to the 50NL tables (yeah, I look back and laugh too). I quickly went up to $1600 but then after about a month of grinding 50NL, one day I went about 4-5 BI. The next day, the same. Eventually I was down to $1000 and became extremely fed up with poker, so I cashed out and left $50 on. I went back to 5NL and did what what I could do best - bank on 5NL (use to easily pull 30-50 a day).

Then one day, I went to college. I went from a guy that barely went out and partied to someone who always wants to go and party with friends (whether it be weed/alcohol/or other drugs ). Anyways, whenever I have some extra free time away from my hectic schedule, I usually spending it browsing through various poker forums while enganging in poker. Throughout this time, suprisingly, my game has exponentially increased. Despite this, I don't have the time to dedicate to successfully accomplish my poker goals.

Poker is something that i've always wanted to become great at. It seems like my entire life i've always just been decent at various things such as: tennis, starcraft, school work, beerpong / flip cup (yes, i'd destroy you at beer pong, that's all we do at FSU). Anyways, what i'm getting at is i've been decent at just about everything in my life (luckily decent is better than most people, but nothing to the point where i'm happy). I hope poker, since i'm only 18, will be something that I can become great at (one can only dream).

I'd say my life is composed of poker/partying. My friends and I have weekly tournaments and I have been teaching a few how to play online. When I play i'm usually at my friends crib putting in the hard work while trying to help his game out (I gave him $50 and he's right now at ~$400).

Now that we're passed all the trite and meaningless mumbo jumbo, let's get down to the current stuff. Currently I play 25NL SH on UB with a $800 roll, trying to clear that bonus. In addition, I play 10NL on pokerstars (might do 25NL if I can get some extra time this semester) with a $1100 roll. To date i've made over 4k playing poker. Not bad considering I started last May and don't have much time to play. I'll use this as a place to record play / post hands / try to better my game. I'm always willing to help players that are just beginning to play and or are beneath my level and i'm always willing to talk poker with players that are above me.

Special shout out to midian, capaneo, clawson, murray, and UTmax for getting me here and helping me out at times. Like I said, i'll post here frequently. It's now 3 AM and I need to get to bed!

Peace out
-Bishop

Loosening Up at 10NL by tae-g, February 11

Ive started playing a little more loose pf especially in position. I watched Daut's FR video again today and realized that I could loosen up a bit, and I liked the way he raised his pairs pf even utg. It worked out pretty well, and just about every time I made a set I stacked someone.

I ended up +3 BI bc I got drawn out on once or twice, but this style was a little more fun and kept me interested so I think ill stick with it for a while.

Last few days by Joe, February 11

Since I have my arm broken and since I already watched all episodes of Prison Break, there was not much else to do but to play poker in last few days.

So, I played quite a lot of hands, maybe twice as much as usual. But the results were rather bad. I kept swinging it up and down all the time. I had 2 days in a row in which I lost money - that didnt happen to me since December.

Overall I didnt make any progress at all as far as money go in these days, the net result since last blog post is +$67.80 over 9k hands :/
I dont think I played that bad though, sure I made some plays that werent good and I am sure I could have ended like +$500, but thats not that big of a deal I guess. Simply Lady Variance decided to slow me down a bit.

I also had a few really strange hands in the last session, two of which u may find in this guess hand topic.

Your Welcome luminous :( by JonnyCosMo, February 11

So yesterday we got a semi-LP.net home game together with mfcmurray, Avi8tion, tbc79, luminous, and myself at a NL25 6-Max table. I proceeded to do my usual ass kicking and built up a nice stack of $125+ through these hands:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/144706 - tbc how you expect to think that's going to hold vs me? I run infinitly good. You should know that!
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/144708 - Obv I have quads here. Surprised? You shouldn't be! I get this hand like 15 times a day!
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/144709 - The river loves JonnyCosMo.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/144710 - Re: what I said above.

Then Lee Jones seemed to have enough of me pwning ass for one night, as I proceeded to be souly responsible for rebuilding luminous' bankroll in the following hands:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/144711 - Gah Cooler!
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/144712 - ZOMG how does KK hold up here??

And finally... this hand is just too ugly for a hyper-link:
