SICK LIFE by DooMeR, August 29

Bow chiki wah wah

this month has been pretty sexy. Its actually my biggest month ever, even though I only played 20k hands. However I've been running real good and officially moved up to 3/6 at the beginning of the month. Not a whole lot to say about the stats, other than that I want to continue to run at these +_+.
Free Image Hosting at <a href=www.ImageShack.us" />

As for life, I'm going to be renting a house in Aruba with Derric (Sixpepers) and Clay (MezmerizePLZ) for 9 days. Here is the link to the house we will be renting which is just Baller as fuck.

http://www.arubarentalhomes.com/sunsetvilla/gallery.html

Hopefully Corwin(myth) will be joining us if he gets his passport in time, even though he is a huge nit. Also i think someone else might be joining us...maybe.

After aruba ill be moving to Puerto Rico with my 2 cousins so i'm pretty excited about that. All around pretty exciting times.

I'd also like to let u guys know that lately ive been having wetdreams over the lancer evo. =( its so sexy. So that is my new goal! TO GET ONE!

EDIT: I made this post august 30th i believe, and i actually made another 3k or so and ended the month at almost exactly 18k+

2nd baddest run by locoo, August 29

So after my first bad run at NL100 6-max in which I broke even almost in a month of play, it was time for my second bad run after running hot for about 2 or 3 weeks.

Nl200, full ring, im up 1k since 2 weeks (was up 3k and lost roughly 2k in about 3 days or so). It hits me especially hard since I just cashed out 7k or so.

As always, seems like everyone is making a move on you, plus the usual set over set plus AK vs AQ or AT and losing, plus set on a flush board losing vs made flush and etc etc...

Not gonna complain much, im still up in the month, still feels weird because I really think sometimes im playing my A game even if I am 20-21 tabling. Just hard to get minraised everytime and such but I guess it will balance out later.

Now for the things that matter:

IMPORTANT STUFF

Getting a Wii right now, games recomendation is a must. Thanks!!

update by keuner, August 29

hi boyz and hopefully girlz, after restarting with 25$ and grindin i ran decent and now iam at 400 and get rb on friday so ive a solid br for nl 20/plo20.
plo 10 is ridicouless soft but had big beats n stuff but its not that difficult to be the biggest donator there.
i hope plo20 is the same for me and nl20 ...i know this limit and is bad too, especially at this site.
but the coolest thing is the shop there come online in a fewdays and ive good amount of points and got a personal deal which is a shop fund... where i get extrapoints on another account and they convert some of my rake into extra points n stuff so its pretty cool.

ok cya lat0r

My first blog post! by JoeDeertay, August 29

Hey all. I know I'm no bigshot yet, but I thought that creating a blog would help me keep rack of my sessions and improve my game. After reading a lot of Daut, Myth, Twisted, and Townsend's blogs, I can see how recording your mood or evaluating sessions might help when you come back to read it later. So this is going to be a learning tool for me as much as anything else...kind of like how teaching a subject can help you learn it as well. Maybe some day I'll even be as popular as Daut . Until then, thanks for viewing and happy reading!

August Challenge by Artanis[Xp], August 28

Now that we got that out of the way...
I've been doing awesome. Tournaments have withheld my profits so far from going over $500, but I expect to go over that in a few days. Which brings us to the August challenge, which is getting over $500 this month for the first time. Unless I start to run bad all of a sudden, this should be something easily achievable.

Current BR: $457.

Tuesday Morning by NeillyJQ, August 28

I started the day out today 12 tabling NL50, and found two fishy NL100 tables with very high VPIP so I joined them as well.

The session went very well, I won back what I lost last night and an extra buy-in. Bankin' yo

Heres my stats from today;

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 1255 hands and saw flop:
- 67 out of 157 times while in big blind (42%)
- 31 out of 154 times while in small blind (20%)
- 92 out of 944 times in other positions (9%)
- a total of 190 out of 1255 (15%)
Pots won at showdown - 29 of 44 (65%)
Pots won without showdown - 123

Gonna go eat n probably play again soon.

GL everyone,

Dinner TR with pics by byrnesam, August 28

Obv i had to go to dinner at the sky tower, which is just a huge tower with restaurants, couple of bars and a casino. I had to pay which was the first beat of the night.

Id alredy happy ending'd before we left - which made us a little late for our reservation.

So we get there and she instantly complains that there isnt enough choice on the menu. We order a couple of drinks and our starters.

I decided to get the most expensive starter and the most expensive main course because im a huge fuckin balla

Alaskan Crab to start, and Rib Eye Steak for main. She ordered Chicken and Feta salad to start and Fish of the day for main.

So we start eating our starters and she tells me she doesnt like cheese. Which is obviously why she ordered a cheese based salad. Inner tilt.

http://img481.imageshack.us/img481/2126/st1kg5.jpg

Rib eye, obv.

http://img518.imageshack.us/img518/1184/st2yd1.jpg

her fish, looked rubbish. She also doesnt like potatoe, which was half this dish.

They ruined my kumera mash with too much parmasan cheese.

We also got desert and a glass of desert wine which was disgusting.

Total bill $165 - actually quite good value.

http://img260.imageshack.us/img260/6341/st3pd5.jpg

low skill view from the top

http://img505.imageshack.us/img505/1738/st4ts1.jpg

Getting to grips with the timer...

So we get the lift back down to the ground levels. The casino is there but shes too young to enter (only 19 and you need to be 20)

I enter Farha mode and have to at least try to smuggle her in. I walk the corner and theres 2 security and no one else entering. Thankfully my gangsta stride we walk right past without getting ID'd.

Like a kid in a sweet shop im off to the cashier. She wants to play a slot machine but i only have 1 $2 coin (i roll paper only, obv)

Luckbox it to $8 and shes sick impressed then bitches as we lose it. I then have to hear about how we could have used $6 profit...

Then i play blackjack $10/hand and get owned fairly hard. Then ball back from -$110 to +$50

She doesnt know how to play any casino game, and was shocked by the number of asian people there (LOL)

http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/4122/st5rt6.jpg

sick ballin with the profit, thats like $120 USD - most of you guys will never have seen that much money.

bonus pick: how a full time NL10 balla lives.

PLO so far by Daut, August 27

I've played 5k hands so far but PLO has not been going as well as I had hoped. I think im running under average but there is definitely lots of room for improvement and im taking full responsibility for not having better results. Here are my stats so far at 1/2:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/Daut/plo827.JPG

I think I'm making a few mistakes:

1. putting in too much money oop. Should keep pots smaller with hands that dont flop well like really trashy AA

2. putting in too much money in spots i can be drawing very thin. I usually think a flop like 337 is a good flop for AA but its bad to get the money in and be 5%. Should really try to get money in with big draws and hands that have a really small chance of drawing badly.

3. playing less junky double suited hands. these hands work well in heads up pots and reraised pots but in raised multiway pots they are total trash.

4. calling 4bets pre with too many Axxx hands even if they are coordinated. When someone 4bets and im 100bb deep i almost always like to call (unless i have QQxx or non premium KKxx) because the hands i 3bet with usually hit a lot of flops and my opponent is committed to the hand but im not. however, if i have an A in my hand like AKJ9 double suited, i should probably fold unless we're significantly deeper. Just lose way too much equity by having only 3 cards and if for example i have a hand like T975sshh im basically a favorite over AAxx if i flop a pair and a gutshot. that extra equity adds up.

going to go through every interesting pot i won or lost more than 50bb in. Im leaving out a lot of situations where a good portion of my stack goes in with AA preflop or i just flop the nuts with a good hand and get paid off by worse and bad beats with nothing instructional.

first pots i won:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/259417
overpair and nut flush draw with some a crappy backdoor straight draw is never in bad shape vs any hand on a non straight or paired flop. this is an easy bet/3bet all in. against top set and a pretty decent wrap/pair im still 33%

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/259419
not sure how i feel about this one. the call preflop is fairly loose but i guess ok.
i hit gin on the flop and have to go with it. i like going for the check raise because he will cbet a good percentage of the time and even if hes ahead i have really good equity with the 5 way straight draw/pair.

the turn is a bad card for me, but theres enough money left that i still have fold equity against a lot of hands that might have called the flop. another thing to note is that often times big wraps dont really drop in equity on the turn because all the outs are usually live.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/259422
im not really sure how to play KKxx hands out of position. I think fold is probably the best option a lot of times if theres no backup to the kings, but i can definitely see a lot of value in flopping sets cause people will probably not think they are overset or i have top set in a lot of situations. i still think im going to fold these hands more often just cause they are really hard to play postflop without backup. postflop in this hand was standard.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/259425
i actually thought for a while on the turn when he shoved. it seemed way too likely he had AA or KK despite his overlimp preflop. I think getting it in here with naked top 2 is horrible and so is calling the flop check raise. I was swayed to a call though because i convinced myself that he didnt have AA or KK enough of the time, and because i also had the shitty flush draw to improve my equity when i was behind.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/259429
I definitely should have folded preflop. This is too loose to be raising utg in a 6max game. But whatever.

I flop top pair, gutshot, nut flush draw. The board texture was also really important because its extremely unlikely that someone has a set because 66xx and 44xx are really uncommon hands. So, if someone has 2 pair or a big draw i have great equity, here i was 55% vs 2 pair. Even if they have a set I have pretty decent odds, so im getting this in every time.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/259433
i dont know how i feel about him not getting this in on the flop. If i go in against him i probably have top 2 or a set and his equity vs those hands is pretty bad, like 30-35% ish. But at the same time, hes oop and its really hard to play oop, but the way he played this i think the turn is a fold unless im 2 barreling a lot. This makes me realize the power of 2 barreling helping get me paid off and im going to do it a lot more.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/259436
against his likely hand of AA, this is a great flop for me. if he has AA with a flush draw im still 51%!!!

pokenum -o qc 9h 8h 7c - ah ac jh 2c -- 7h 6h 2s
Omaha Hi: 820 enumerated boards containing 2s 7h 6h
cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV
Qc 7c 9h 8h 421 51.34 399 48.66 0 0.00 0.513
Ac 2c Ah Jh 399 48.66 421 51.34 0 0.00 0.487

this is pretty shocking to me. the flop is a clear shove because id still rather get a fold than get it in as a small to 70/30 favorite.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/259440
i thought it was really really unlikely kiwi had AA since kamakazi was putting the money in, and since i was getting way over 2:1 odds vs kamakazi with pretty damn good KKxx i decided to isolate. I would have done this same play hands like JT98, KJT9, 7654, and probably even double pairs, hands that do pretty well against AA in showdown. I would not do this with AJT9 or bad KK/QQ type hands that do poorly against AA.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/259442
It seems obvious this player has likely a straight but maybe 2pair on the turn, so really just checking if i can call this profitably. Lets say i have 3 live jacks and my spades are live. so thats 12 outs, and hes almost probably calling off the last bit on the river, still pretty borderline because he might fold. If my spades arent live obviously this is horrible. I should fold the turn for sure.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/259446
with a million missed draws on board it seemed like i should call this mainly because i didnt think there were a lot of possible hands in his range he would value bet this hard besides TTxx, T7.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/259447
i just called the flop because of kingkong's overcall. since i have the nut flush draw and there are no likely straight draws on board, i was worried he had 2 pair and wouldnt fold. when i turn top 2 to go along with my flush draw, i decided to just jam to prevent people from checking behind cause there are now a lot of bad cards that can create a lot of straights.

hands i lost:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/259452
interesting that the QJT9 was a favorite preflop because we both had AA.
i jammed pre thinking i could possibly get babies out and because i had two possible flush draws with my aces even though the cards were garbage backup. i dont think theres enough room left to fold if i didnt hit this flop, arguing for maybe playing it a bit slower preflop, but luckily i did and got it in as a favorite.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/259454
was pretty certain this player had AAxx and a flush draw when he raised me. But it still looks like i have enough of a draw to go with it because of my pair and because i dont lose outs on my straight draw since all the flush cards give me a straight flush. in fact i was 49.5% on the flop so ill take this all in all day with the dead money. theres no point in flat calling and trying to push him off certain turns because there isnt enough money left, but im going to save this play for a little deeper situation where my opponent and i have 250bb or so.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/259456
Reraising preflop is an option but i think flat calling is ok too. I decide to lead out on the flop because its really unlikely that turtlestar will have a draw here, so I think I can narrow his hand range a lot by betting out.

When he calls, I decide its fairly likely he could have AA or a QJT type hand that wanted to see a turn. I bet again to try and force out the possible AA hands and also force out bigger straight draws.

The river actually puts me in a sketchy spot. I decided it was too likely he would hero call me with AA no flush and value bet all in. To my surprise he had a low connected hand and he played this pretty much perfect. I cant decide whether i like how i played this hand on any street and ill probably have to think it over some more before i convince myself which plays are best on each street.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/259461
I was trying to rep AA on this board and i thought he would fold a lot of draws similar to mine on the turn. Unfortunately he had the nuts and I had to put in way too much money on a draw that might lose a lot of outs due to multiple flush draws. I think i would like this much much better if the turn was an offsuit 2 that didnt put a second flush draw on board. Here, i have much worse equity against a lot of hands that i get it in vs.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/259463
this is either a fold on the turn or a call down. i dont mind calling down because i think he would do this with the naked As also particularly cause he led into me, but i have to put in a lot of money to find out. Also sucks that i have the Js blocking lower flushes. I think if the board paired i was going to rep QQ and shove the river given the amount of money left but thinking about it now im not so sure anymore. i think its ok and could definitely get the A high flush to fold but i like it if the board is QJ more than Q9 because it makes it a little more believable that a set is in my range.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/259465
another hand im unsure about the turn action. I think its ok because of the added gutshot but it just seems so likely he has what he ended up having. I guess he could have a lot of Qxxx 1 pair hands that i should be pushing out so its not terrible. Id still like to get the majority of the money in with better than 15% equity. If he shoved the flop I think i have to call with 6 outs worst case and exactly 2:1 odds cause he could definitely have a lot of 987 type hands that i have decent equity vs.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/259469
ok so i lied. i had to post one of them. lol omaha

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/259470
at the time i thought it was extremely unlikely he had a set and decided since i had 2 extra outs vs 2 pair and the backdoor flush draw i should get it in. However, im still a 2:1 dog (he did block one of my eights). Unsure about this but i think in the future its probably a fold despite having increased equity vs 456 because i block one of the straights with my aces.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/259472
dont go broke in an unraised pot applies to omaha also. still have some decent equity but only because all my cards are live. i think i should probably play this slower.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/259475
i thought the turn was a great card to bet again because it shuts down a lot of his draws, but at the same time, hes probably shoving a draw on the flop so it seems likely thats what he has, so check fold seems like a better option than it did at the time. meh, this isnt terrible cause im in no way committed to the hand and have a decent chance to take it down but still unlikely for him to have any reasonable draw.

Also just realized hes now folding a lot of 1 pair kings, so i like it again

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/259478
Gee i wonder what he has. fold the river you moron calling station.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/259479
one of those spots i mentioned where i dont have very good odds when i get it in. the 2 seems like a good card, but its a 5 way pot and its likely someone had a monster on the flop. eh, i dunno. even if he has trips i still have some extra outs with the flush draw. really tough spot cause check folding the river seems so horrible but bet/calling is not good either.

Wow, long post. I'm ready to start playing again and ill post more updates when i get 10-15k hands in.

I got me my free $30 on CD poker, then realised its the same annoying software as VC and Titan Poker... -_-;
Oh well ship the free moneys.. Of course it's iPoker I couldn't use wilddamon since I'm using that on titan I think. So I just do the regular thing and add another 'd' like always: wilddddamon

phew, most hand's I've ever played in one session. I think I accidentally pushed the 'reset' button so this isn't even all of them 1-6 tables but I made a lot of moneys playing one table... but its so boooring..

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 1220 hands and saw flop:
- 147 out of 237 times while in big blind (62%)
- 49 out of 234 times while in small blind (20%)
- 114 out of 749 times in other positions (15%)
- a total of 310 out of 1220 (25%)
Pots won at showdown - 38 of 74 (51%)
Pots won without showdown - 162

A short story by Kapol, August 27

I have been playing NL100 since last blog entry, but I didn't win anything. I'm going to spend september on NL50 - I was a big winner there and I hope to keep up my good run. If I still won't be able to beat NL100 after a month, I'll prolly take a few lessons with one of LP's coaches. I'd like to stay on NL100, but it's not possible due to my regular cashouts.
My goal is to make 4k until October. Wish me GL.
