Weird month by CrownRoyal, September 01

http://img63.imageshack.us/img63/8742/weirdmonthrr4.jpg

Started the month off with a decent roll, I don't remember how much, like ~700

Obviously i felt that i was skilled enough to crush nl50 with such a roll and I obviously did with my amazing prowress, talent, and good looks.

didn't play much at all after that, started getting ready for school and my mom kept bitching about having to pay for everything, so I cashed out pretty much everything I had with the intention of getting a job when i got to school.

so i had like 2.50 or something in my account

grinded that up to about 90, ran stupid bad over 2k hands at nl5 (breaking even bleh) had a super awesome tilt session at nl25 running at 35/25 LOL

tilted the rest of it away pretty much and fira gave me a loan.

currently grinding nl10

life sucks.

endless partying by SneakrFreakr, September 01

Since my last post I think I haven't played poker at all lolz.. August was the worst month for me in terms of hands I played. I also didn't run good at all. Loads of beats, setups etc. I pretty much broke even this month (maybe like $300 in the green and some rakeback). But whatever, at least I had good time. And my roll is pretty healthy (13,2k or so) so it's all good. I hope I'll be able to play a bit more in September. In March or so I made a goal to move up to nl1000 by the end of the year. I think it's still achievable. I just need to get some more discipline and fuckin play poker.

Ok enough with poker. So I went to the seaside with my mates and we slept in a trailer. Before I came the weather was awesome - hot, sunny etc. When I arrived it started getting colder and colder and it was raining. It's always like that - doesn't matter where I'm going. Even if I went to Sahara, it'd be raining for a week. So we obv drank and went out every night for like 3 or 4 days straight. On Sunday my mates had to leave so I decided to visit my other mate that was working like 20 miles away. I wanted to stay there for like 2-3 days but it was so fkin cold and windy that I barely survived one night. During the whole trip I read my first non-poker book in like 4 years lolz. It's really nice and interesting and I can recommend it to everyone. The title is "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" and it was written by Jonathan Safran Foer.

I came back on Monday, around 11pm and I was pretty tired so I went straight to my bed. On Tuesdays there's this nice party in a club called Tiger. Well I had no choice when my friend called me. We met a bunch of our friends inside and overall it was a pretty good night. Didn't get that drunk but I spent a lot anyway. In the middle of the night there was quite a huge fight in the club. 2 groups of guys started fighting and after like 30 seconds bouncers ran up to them and started fighting with both groups and later on took everyone outside and continued beating them up lolz. Like 4 policecars came and an ambulance cause I think one of the guys was even unconcious. The bad part of the night was that I met my two ex-girlfriends that I didn't want to see at all. Bad beat.

On Wednesday there was nothing interesting to do so I just hang out with my friend. Thursday was a rough night. My friend called me and said that his parents left for a couple of days so we obv had a drinking session. Loads of whisky and late night (or I should say - early morning) take away = my mate puking in his toilet. Somehow I felt pretty good and didn't puke. Brag.

Yesterday I was planning on staying at home cause my mum is whining that I'm going out and drinking all the time instead of spending time with her and my brother. But my mate called me and asked if I'm up for a few beers in a pub cause he was too tired to go to the club. Obv I agreed and we met around 8pm. Later on 2 other friends came as well and we had a few beers and nice shots that bartender recommended to us. They were really good and if anyone wants to try it was Jagermeister + vodka + Malibu + pineapple juice. Around 11:30 pm when we were already pretty drunk my mate suggested hitting my favorite club - City Hall. They didn't have to convince me as I agreed right away. When we got in it was crowded as hell and while trying to buy some drinks I saw one of my mate's ex and her friend who turned out to know my other friend. As we were talking I thought I'd start hitting on my friend's ex and my other mate was hitting on the other girl. We both succeeded and had some good time. Later on she typed her phone number on my mobile and told me to call her cause she had to leave (it was 3am and she starts working at 8am lolz). But at this point I knew I won't call her cause I realized that I don't like her. I was about to take a taxi with my mate but we couldn't catch any so we just walked home (suprisingly it took us only like 20 mins).

Today my friend's girlfriend is having a party at her flat. There's gonna be like 15 peoplez I think. It should be nice but my mum is gonna kill me if I tell her I'm going out againt tonight. She says that I'm gonna be an alcoholic by the time I'm 25. Maybe she's got a point but come on - it's summer. So yeah I gotta take a shower, eat lunch, maybe play some poker and then go to the shop, by some liquor and go to her flat and get pissed again.

Oh I almost forgot to write about one thing. I fell in love with my cousin lolz. I drove to Koszalin to pick up my brother from my grandparents' place and my cousin was also there. I aven't seen her for like 4 yrs and now she's 15 or 16 and is sooooo hot. She's like a younger Jessica Alba with bigger boobies. <3<3<3 Why does she have to be my cousin?

August by Gawuss, September 01

So basically this month was pretty swingy for me. I was trying to win something back since I had my biggest downswing ever ( about 8k ) and managed to win like $900 - $1000 ( + I got almost 1k of rakeback) but it could've been more if I hadn't lost some $ on 300nl - I think it's easier than 200nl on Prima cause players are playing worse and looser than 200nl ones, who are basically tight passive noobs.

Here are the graph and stats for this month

http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/315/augustdt2.jpg
Note: I'm up about $300 more than it's shown here. I got disconnected 2 times when I won an all in and I'm down about $110+ in tourneys.

http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/2095/augustgraphpc2.jpg

I think that in August I was still thinking about my huge downswing too much and I was trying to make up my losses. I think that kind of affected on my game. I also tilted a lil a few days ( not much, maybe 300$ ) cause I just couldn't handle losing with those fckin noobs on 300nl because of fckin unlucky rivers (I was down about $2,2k in 3 days - mostly on 300nl). My bankroll is now at about $9800.

I got some goals for September. First of all I have to play more - at least 30k hands so 1k/day, yea I know it's not that much for some of you but my school starts in a few days so I won't have that much time to play). Second goal is to play my best all the time, quit the session when I'm losing, play longer when I'm winning. I can't tilt any dollar ! I think that I control myself most of the time but I get pissed too much when I'm losing day after day. So my next big goal is to stop getting angry while losing cause I affect my game too much. I have to finally become a real poker player, who doesn't show any emotions while playing. And my last goal is (obv) to make up my losses from the past 2 months and never look back again.

I wish the best luck to all of you, don't let those noobs tilt you ! See ya

~BONUS !!

August Results/September Goals by BJLTNYK, August 31

All cash game play was in the first 5 days of the month...NO MAS PLEASE.

http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j184/brianzcardz/Poker%20Graphs/Aug07Cash.jpg
http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j184/brianzcardz/Poker%20Graphs/Aug07SNG.jpg

So I guess my goal is a 2k month at SNGs/tourneys. Maybe play 100-200 more 16s before moving up to the 27s. The 16s have basically been like printing money for me. Ideally I'd like to play some WCOOP events but I'm really not rolled for them. I turn 21 in 13 days so some extra money would be fucking great.

Played 10k hands of 6 max by Quocy04, August 31

I think my 6 max game have been improving a lot since I started playing online again. I’m a lot more aggressive and my reading is so much better now. I laid down 2 over pairs today vs. Sets and 4 of a kind on the flop and turn. I think I played really good today and hopefully I will keep this up.

I played 10k hands today

Im new to the table so i didnt have any stats on him

NL50 Night Session by NeillyJQ, August 31

Tonight I fired the tables back up and started a night session on NL50 6max. I started out very poorly losing a big pot with AA vs KT, where a river king lost me a buy-in. Shortly after the same player hit flush over flush on me and sent me reloading. I made sure to keep my composure after these beats, and kept focus on the hands infront of me.

Within a short period of time I managed to win back what I lost and then some, finishing the night up a cool 3 buy-ins. Heres my stats from tonights session;

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 1539 hands and saw flop:
- 131 out of 317 times while in big blind (41%)
- 50 out of 317 times while in small blind (15%)
- 86 out of 905 times in other positions (9%)
- a total of 267 out of 1539 (17%)
Pots won at showdown - 46 of 74 (62%)
Pots won without showdown - 216

I'll try to post analysis of alot of my winning and losing hands tomorrow afternoon, be sure to check em out.

T$ Experiment Day 1 by JoeDeertay, August 31

I went full force trying to earn the T$ to buy into the WCOOP today after I was done with my classes, and finished up $6.20 after playing 11 $2 100k satellites. I won 2, cashed for $6 in one, and lost the rest, but my ROI for the day is around 25%, which isn't bad at all. I would have played more but because my roommates want to pregame and I'm way behind in the tally for the week, I'm just going to quit while I'm ahead and try to catch up before we go downtown

I think I played well today but just ran into some bad luck in a lot of the tourneys I lost. I got my money in good most of the time but just couldn't win against 2 outers and donks 3betting hands like JT preflop. I posted a lot of my key hands in the tourneys today below with some commentary to help me evaluate (or explain, if need be) myself and help me improve for next time:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/262422
I wasn't aggro enough after the turn in this hand and it cost me in the end, even if the result would have probably been the same anyway. He had been leading out the flop any time he paired and would always 2barrel if I flatted, so I let him bet again instead of raising the flop. I should have bet more on the turn and river, and probably should have folded the river to his all-in...but then again it WAS only a 70FPP satellite, so I thought he could still just have trips with that raise.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/262427
I thought I had a good price to call against his range with better than 2.5-1 here, so I thought if I was going to call I might as well put him in for the last 725 preflop.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/262432
Even though I have reasons for my play this is still a badly played hand. The table had been folding A LOT in this one and on that board I thought I could take it down on the turn. I didn't think anyone hit this board at all and that preside probably limped with a couple of high cards. Since he took a while to call my turn bet and because I didn't think this board hit his range and thought that maybe he was floating and planning to bluff me on the river. It was between that and slowplaying to induce another bluff with a boat, and when the river came I thought that he missed the high cards and that he might fold to another bet, but when he insta-pushed I didn't know where I should, so I decided to drop it and wait for the other little stacks to just get eliminated while I waited for a better spot. I also realized that even if he did float me he probably had a better hand anyway. Horribly played.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/262438
I slowplayed this hand all the way for 2 reasons: to give myself a better price on every street if he has me beat, and to let him keep betting into me with something like JJ-KK. I thought a raise anywhere might scare him off of a lot of hands that I beat here.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/262444
I don't really know why I insta-called here. I thought I probably had him dominated and if he had an underpair then I had a good price (although I didn't really think about the pot odds too much). He was being really tight too, which should have made me stop to think a bit more. I guess the poker gods made the 6 come to teach me a lesson.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/262445
I probably should have just pushed pre here, but because he didn't reraise I thought I either had him beat or that he'd fold the flop, and if he did hit then I had a decent price on my push, at least against his total range of hits and misses.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/262447
I probably shouldn't have even been in this hand, but I was mining for TP and got what I wanted, so I let him c-bet instead of folding off some hands that would pretty much put me in.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/262453
I thought he would bet pretty much any 2 here the way I was folding a lot, and I also thought that he'd have to call with a lot of hands I'm still beating, so I value pushed bottom pair.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/262454
I wasn't really comfortable at any point in this hand, but I had to bet here and just tried to give myself the best value I could on the turn, both if he called with a worse hand or pushed with a straight. Too bad I couldn't boat the river.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/262456
I was betting for value the whole time here, because there are obv plenty of hands he might call with that I beat. The river made me feel even better about my hand, even if it did comeplete the backdoor flush.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/262457
On this hand I thought that I had a decent price on the flop with the overcard, especially if s97 called, because I thought he could call a paired hand that didn't have an A kicker at that price. I obv had to call the turn, but just couldn't complete. Maybe I should have folded the flop, though.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/262460
This one was for value if I had him beat, to discourage min-raising, and to help my image for later...kind of like early in a ring game. I failed to realize the fact that if I lost I'd be railing, however. I guess I was lucky not to be beat.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/262461
Another hand that I wasn't very comfortable playing, but I though it'd be easier to bet then just check-calling without any real info. When he called the turn I thought I was probably behind, especially when the river paired the board.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/262462
This guy had been pushing like every single hand, so I thought ~2.5-1 was a good price against his almost infinite range here. Even if he has an overpair I have on of the better unsuited hands to crack it.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/262464
There are still a lot of hands that I'm beating here, so I feel this is an easy call.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/262465
This hand just pissed me off...even though I didn't even play it. For some reason the internet at PSU has been fucking retarded, and this time it made me time out AA when I would have flopped the nuts in an action pot Ugh bad beat my Penn State

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/262467
Just called here to either double or bust again the wide donkish range of turbo players early in tourneys. Good thing it paid off.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/262470
I probably should have just folded this pre, but he had been raising so many hands that I was just hoping I caught him with overs and would double the shortstack. I know it's bad, but I was in a gambling mood for a little bit today.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/262471
I slowplayed this flop because I was sure someone would bet at it...and surely enough, someone decides to push in a multiway pot with middle pair on an A-hi flop.

Now that I'm finally done writing this post I'm going to gulp this glass of Captain Morgan Tattoo rum I have here and go do a line of shots to catch up to my roommates before we leave (Mmmmm...it's like candayyyyyy )

Shiiiiiiiip it! by TianYuan, August 31

http://img174.imageshack.us/img174/7579/primaendpc8.jpg
So:
I am no longer down since I moved to prima - major shipaments!

I also recieved my rakeback, 1295$, so my roll is now over 4000 - SHIP.

I played good today, but also finally - FINALLY - ran good. I mean, woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
:D I mean my AK top pair actually >HELD<. Completely radical, I know!

I flopped sets that got action, overpairs were actually good and so on.

I also stopped myself from tilting by slowing down when I suddenly felt like every table was moving really fast and every cbet was getting raised (also the software kind of crashed when I had to reload so I had a 1 minute cooldown period :D!).

Hands later, now hungry. Left a pretty good game (one 70/50 guy and one 40/30 guy both halfstacked, but too hungry and tired, needed a break).

I guess I'll probably still move back to stars, but maybe I'll stick with my original plan, which was to move back when the rednines promotion ended (september 30).

Dunno. Just felt like making a happy post for once! Up about 600$ today, 400 yesterday.

I haven't decided if I'll give 200 NL a shot just yet, I had intended to give it a shot with 20 buyins but I'm not sure if I should or not given my dismal winrate at NL100/my many leaks

a little mind-change by nutshot, August 31

Nits:

Last blog, I posted about how I'm going to become a cash-game player. I'm not lying, you can look it up.

After talking with a few friends, and reading some of the comments in my last blog, and sort of just thinking about it a little more, I decided that there's no reason I should classify myself in one way or another.

I'm planning on mixing up what I play each day, depending how I feel and how much time I have, etc.

It'll be some mix of 25NL, $11-22 mtts, $4-12 180s and $16 9-man sngs I think. So you might see me anyplace on any given night.

Anyway, in BR news, we're relatively booming. We started the night with $1,367.79. We got second in a $12 180man this afternoon, and had a decent, pretty short NL25 session this morning.

Later nits.

-Mike

August update by gawdawaful, August 31

Well, I've managed to not do anything I was planning to do this month lol

  • A solid month of 100NL without going into 200( )
  • A session with myth ( )
  • Help a struggling 25 or 50NL player ( )
  • Play lots of poker ( )
  • JACK OFF ( X )

Ok it wasnt that bad. I played a fair bit, about 55k hands. But considering my goal was 60-80k, I'm a fair ways off. A session with myth, still not done. Help a struggling lower stake player, did it once to no real result lol.

Heres my result for the month
http://www.sitefights.com/community/art/gawdawaful//august.jpg

Not bad, definitely a step in the right direction. But considering about half of that is from heads up (and about 1k of that is from sucking out on some fish at a stake I shouldnt have been at) I'm not so sure if I did myself any favours this month by being a moron.

Anyways, school starts soon. Next Tuesdsay in fact. Oddly, I'm looking forward to it. The last month or so, I've been bored out of my mind. I've been so bored that I've started playing CS again lol.

Beat: My Mario DS's save file got fried some how. I had beaten all 8 worlds + all coins & all coins spent, so I was only missing a few secret exits.

Um, thats about it for now I think. So yah, peace yo

6max so comfortable by NeillyJQ, August 31

Today I had my 2nd day on 6max and I ran and played very well. I put my opponents to alot of tests today and got paid off on literally half of my high premium hands. I finished the day up about 7 buy-ins.

I'll be playing almost all 6max for now on. It feels as if I've been a 6max player playing full-ring for the last year now, nice to be home ;-)

Heres my stats from today;

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 2417 hands and saw flop:
- 184 out of 432 times while in big blind (42%)
- 79 out of 447 times while in small blind (17%)
- 169 out of 1538 times in other positions (10%)
- a total of 432 out of 2417 (17%)
Pots won at showdown - 59 of 106 (55%)
Pots won without showdown - 317

I'm gonna go relax for a bit, maybe play later tonight.

First Blog by slickster998, August 31

Hey, My name is Alex, I'm 22 living in Maryland. I've been playing poker as my main source of income for almost 2 years now. I started off playing in highschool with friends at my moms house. It was an easy way to convince her for me to have people over by just saying we were playing poker. Well one thing led to another and I deposited 50 dollars. And then another 50 dollars, and another 50 dollars. Then finally I picked up a few books, and I started making a profit. At around 2k at .1/.25, I decided to stop pizzahut. I was living at the Ocean that summer anyway with some friends, so it worked out. I kept moving up relatively slowly. Last year I did mostly 50NL and 100NL. I got my bankroll up to 20k, but I had nothing in my bank account at home.(so i cashed out some) I moved back home for about a week, and decided that I wanted to move out. It would be hard partying all summer and then living at home. I moved into a house with 2 friends and my brother. I cashed out down to 12k, and bought some cool shit including a 50inch plasma, tempurpedic bed, ect.

Today was the last day on the lease of the place. It was fun, but definitely time to move on. I realize renting is retarded. I should be investing my money in property that is my own. I'm currently playing 200nl, with some 400nl when I feel up to it. I think i'm pressuring myself too much to move up, when I see straate, and tom(along with various others) who started where I was and now are doing very well. I've only been doing 200nl fulltime for about a month, so I have to give it some time. THe money is way better than 100nl, so I can't complain.

I was going for supernova elite, but due to the massive amounts of drinking and smoking, doing 6k hands each day for 365 days at 100nl seemed impossible. I'm currently at around 315k vpps. I'd like to hit 750k vpps, but i'll be satisfied with 500k and the 5000 bonus.

I've never done a blog before, or anything close to this, and never really read anyone elses so I don't know what to expect. I guess if I make it big, it'll be nice to see my frame of mind on a certain date.

August>done by Question, August 31

Hi guys!
Iam 18 year old boy from Czech Repubic-Prague.Iam regular NL25 player ,but last month my bank roll crashed because i played like tilty dumb and my BR managment was very sick…So i decided to start again building my bankroll from NL5.I requested for no deposit 50 bucks on titan poker and started building. My mean goals for August was:
-Stop tilting:done
-build NL10 bankroll:done
-25k hands:lol no way :D
So it was good month,I haven't played as many hands as I'd imagine due to a little bit slower software on Titanpoker, but I feel quite satisfied.
My graph:

And Stats:
http://campclan.wz.cz/stats.JPG

So September Goals:
-Build NL25 BR

Back at 100nl / August Results by Sloverville, August 31

After 2 months of 50nl im pretty much back at 100nl full-time. If I lose 10 buy-ins, i'll drop back down and make it up. But for now, its all 100nl and hopefully 200nl isnt far off. Im rolled for 200nl but i'd like to get at least 50k hands in before i move up.

I played 18 hours of poker this week which i think is pathetic but still more than i've played since the beginning of the month. Still, i played great and ended up with some nice results...

As for the entire month of August, im really happy with my results. Had a couple days where i ran up a hefty loss. But i took a break each time and came back strong. Ive been watching a lot of CR videos and reading hands in LP forums. It has helped immensely. Ive never really took the time to actually study hands and incorporate what ive learned into my game. Stupid me.

This months PT and PG...

I havent been running particularly great the past week or so at 100nl. My overall net run per PokerEV is +.04BB/100. But im happy to finally be back and making more $$$.

100NL results thus far...

Went to the Louisville game last night and even though the team we were playing might as well have been a high school team, we looked great. I dont expect to lose a game this season.

August by wobbly_au, August 31

This month started off really well as I just hit Supernova and also started to take shots moved up to 400NL and some 600NL, but then I suffered a 10k+ down swing which is my second worst swing yet in terms of buyins.

I like to think that most of the swing was due to variance, but there were nights where I just wouldnt give up and kept playing till my eye lids would just shut out every 1-2 minutes. Doomer strongly advised me to cut down the number of tables I play so I did and combined with shortend session durations and careful play I recovered most of those losses.

August has been a emotional rollercoasting, due to poker and crazy load of uni project work..

Hands of the months for me are here.

*Pics* The Master Cleanse - Day 4 by KingKory, August 31

Morning weight - 180.6

First thing this morning, I had to take a huge shit. This is strange, because the past couple days I haven't had to shit until I've taken the saltwater flush.

WARNING: Details about my poo ahead
So before I did anything, I was on the toilet. And the result was the most solid matter I've had since beginning the cleanse. Don't get me wrong, it's still pretty much diarrhea-ish (without the stomach aches), but with intermittent chunks of matter. This got me very excited, considering I haven't consumed solid food in ~80 hours.

It's kind of strange how I've start fiending for this drink. Like, yesterday at work, I was precariously close to running out. I mean, whenever I'm hungry, if I take a couple gulps of this stuff, I'm totally cool for a while. I don't know what I'd do if I were stuck somewhere without it.

I have to tend bar tonight. My shift is ~5-6 hours long, and it's pretty much non-stop for a ~3 hour span or so. I have to be sure I'm taking drinks of lemonade every now and then.

Okay, so I took some pics of me making the lemonade. Sorry for the messy house-
