First nice looking month @ NL25. This is 11k hands.
http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/206/septembrety0.jpg
Am I crazy or is fullring WAY easier than 6max at NL25 ? Is it a bad idea to take a shot at NL50 @ full ring too ? I've tried full tables since only about 1 week and it felt so easier from the first hand.

| | Live Donkament by Svenman87, September 30
tried to play a donkament for a seat in the Fall Poker Classic.
100$ buy in. 110~ people signed up
Early Rounds
------------
Make a few re-raises preflop and start to chip up.
KJ in the CO. I raise it up. SB calls (guy has been fairly solid lag)
flop comes Kh4hKc
he checks, I bet out and he raises (sweet) so I tank for about a minute and just shove over the top for about 2x the pot. He tanks and reluctantly calls. I table my KJo and he tables his Ah8h
Turn/River = Blank
w000000000t
Table breaks shortly after, i get to my new seat.
Pick up Kh10h in the sb (2nd hand at the table). button raises I call.
flop 6h 7c 8c
we both check
turn comes 10d I check/raise he all in and she angrily folds.
Very next hand i get QQ. Same woman raises I push over (sb and bb both very short, wasn't worried if they called)
she snap calls and shows 99. my QQ hold and im chipping up nicely (chip leader at the table)
VERY NEXT HAND
action goes muck muck muck... to the guy to my right, who was at my other table, really bad player... Sucked out on some guy with 3's when they got it all in on a 5 6 7 board.
Anyways, he raises to 300 (blinds only at 50/100 at this point)
I look down at two black kings (HOLLA) I juice it up and make it 1000 to go. He snap calls. (??????????)
flop comes 10 10 8 He checks and I shove. He is visually distraught... He is sighing and looking at me. took him forever to call but when he did he flipped over 109s.
SLOW ROLLING SOB. turn/river dont help.
Sweet, he was 2nd in chips at the table now I'm at about ~1800 in chips. Fuck my life etc...
I manage to chip back up to about 4k through some aggressive moves and getting the nuts paid off by bottom two. ship ship.
Table breaks and little after break starts.
New table is a bunch of random people to me. Nothing to exciting really happens I manage to get a nice chip lead until I ran into this gem.
im in the BB with 84s UTG+2 smooth calls, same with the button, sb completes i check.
8h 7s 3s
I bet out UTG+2 calls, other 2 muck.
turn = 3c
I tank for a bit and end up just shoving and putting her all in.
she stared me down and it seemed like forever... at least a few minutes, people called time on her before she called... with her Jacks. >_<
well river bricked for me and I ship about 1/2 my stack to her.
I chip back up nicely and eat a few shortstacks.
almost at the next level (200/400) when I get AKo in the bb. mid position (very short) shoves in for ~1k. Button Calls. I'm in the sb and don't want to really mess with the button (really seems to be a pretty big donk but hard to put him on anything) so I just shove over.
He has me covered... But only by about 800 chips. He thinks a long time, looks like he is about to muck his hand then goes "whatever, I call."
He tables KQs short stack tables KQo
I table my AKo
Flop Q 10 7
FUCK MY LIFE
turn 7
river 3
The short stack guy takes the pot very humbly but then I start hearing the bigger stack start cheering and saying that's what I get etc etc. He looked like Moneymaker... He had the facial hair, the hat, the glasses and was overweight.
God I tilted so hard walking away. Good thing the 15/30 game was full or I might have been in more trouble :0
Anyways that was my adventure at trying to get a Main Event seat for the Fall Classic. (bubbled btw about 8 people away) Maybe next year
p.s. as I walk out and give the valet my ticket they come back and say, "you're battery died."
first words back to him were "Leeeeeeeeee..." I guess I said it loud enough for him to shoot me an odd glance, w/e so I waited an extra 15 minutes for someone to help jump my car.

| | NL50 2nd shot by Sheetah, September 30
(BRMA - see $previous entry for details)
And adventure continues. After failing the first time my BR (at Stars) dropped to $150-ish. I had to move down to NL25 and in relatively short time had $200+ again.
The second shot at NL50 went smoother. At first there were swings from about $180 to $220, when luck finally evened out.
Right now I have $320 and the moment BR hits $400 I'm moving to NL100 (one buy-in shot, as planned).
So far:

| | some Hand questions by PplusAD, September 30
this situations occured several times in the last few days
Nl25
me :

i raise 4bb from MP all fold but sb who calls.
FLOP

sb raises 1/3 pot i reraise a good amount
sb goes all in.
i call and lose
to always
here are my thoughts.
I reaised preflop and he called from worse position.
so he probably has a AK AQ QQ JJ TT or any small pocket pair for set value.
he makes a small bet into this flop ...
i think i must ofc reraise this
then he goes all in over my reraise .
this is a difficult descision for me.
If there was only 1 ace on the flop id fold here .
cause he has an A for sure.
but there are 2 aces on the flop which makes it unlikley he flopped 3 of a kind aces ?
BUT on the other hand !
Consider with which hands he shoves all in over a preflop raisers reraise here on this board on NL25 where hardly anyone makes plays.
AK AQ and AJ + 99 are definitely the most likley hands here
consindering the preflop action.
i beat only JJ and TT that are also likley but on the other hand why should he move all in with TT or JJ here knowing with my preflop raise and flop reraise he only beats
a bluff T_T
so is this an easy fold ?
Another question is kinda similar.
me

i raise PF early position and get a MP caller
Flop

I raise flop potsize
I get a big reraise
Is this an easy fold ?
I beat almost nothing but a bluff
and i am pretty sure he has here , or 70 % of the time.

| | A hand i should never forget by Sheitan, September 29
Final table of a 180, second in chips, first hand against the chip leader.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/283895
10th for 8 dollars. I should never forget this hand, i had no history on villain and i thought he was pushing me around with his large stack, dunno why i called this.
This is so sick, i could have sit out and still make a nice place, instead i bust in 10th being second in stack size... would like comments for this hand, is it marginal to call here even if i suspect a steal ?
Besides, i make more and more final table so im satisfied with my mtts results, i think next month my learning process will be finished and i will start to cash some moneys out of these mtts...hopefully.

I was playing laggier than usual in the first session so it's disappointing that I lost so much, but I honestly couldn't win a pot bigger than 1/3 of a buyin (in 1200 hands..). And that was a 3 street bluff.. 2nd biggest pot was like 1/3 of a buyin with AK or something.
I seem to fold my BB to steals too easily, should probably 3bet more or maybe even call.
I'll probably stick to 1/2 for a while now, the 1.5/3 games are usually pretty fucking soft but I'm too marginally rolled (well, definitely now, but I could cash in my rakeback and I'd be back at 25 buyins) so I think I'll just wait til 9k/I see a really, really big fish on one of the tables.
I'm a little bummed cause sitting with 1000$ stacks feels good, and it happens a lot more at 1.5/3
Been thinking a little about learning limit, but not sure what level to start out at (I have extremely limited experience with limit played some super low stakes, watched a few limit vids and read a little about it).

| | RUNNING BAD by Drowsy, September 29
The first two blog posters are right, this post was gay and whiney, so I edited it. I had a really long session that I wouldn't exactly call a rollercoaster, more like going to the center of the earth then getting on a plane to china.
http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/6691/graph92807wq0.png
Dunno why the graph says 3 days, this was all today.
I also stacked this pesky regular who runs 13.4/7/3 and has me buddy listed or something, he has position on me at half of my tables and is waitlisted for the other half whenever we're on at the same time. We were both deepstacked, no matter how good he is compared to the rest of the 10nlers, he still couldn't fold his overpairs and lost 200bb to a set of 3s, when he held kings.
And I swear to god, I run horrible when 4-6 tabling, and great 9 tabling. I think the reason is that I tend to pick targets and get tilted more easily 4-6 tabling, still something I gotta work on. 9 tabling I'm going too fast to take anything personally and tilt away on one stupid bastard. I'm running a little bit tighter finally, 21/17/4 is where I am and about what I think is good, still toning down my flop aggression and trying to bet less out of position when I have very few or no outs.

BIGGEST POT WON:

Amount of times stacked: TWICE (flush vs boat, QQ vs AK allin preflop)
So that leaves a cool 900$ lost in 100$ chunks
Fun times.

| | Doing Better by SugoGosu, September 29
Before yesterday and before I started posting hands and asking for tips on how to improve, I learned that betting is not entirely for saying you have a good hand and you want people to call. Instead it's more to get an idea of how you rank up against others. Then once you realize if you are ahead or not, you decide to whether fold or raise. If you raise, you want to know how much to raise in order for him to call you, and in order to do this, you have to have a good idea of what cards he himself has.
Before yesterday, it took me 3 days to raise 50 cents. Now in just 2 hours today, I rose 7 dollars, playing 2 tables at the NL2 tables.
I also learned what people meant by NL200, NL25, etc... It's divided by 100 and thats the big blind (i hope thats right).
So after about 2 hours today, I have been studying my play as according to others and how to make a profit off of other players. I realized that I play poorly when I'm talking to other people in the room as it takes away my concentration.
While I play I listen to calming music to keep me from tilting, mainly the band, "Explosions in the Sky" ( http://www.myspace.com/texasband )
My bankroll yesterday: $20.50
My bankroll after my 2 hr session: $27.72
I'm getting better I think. Go me!

| | Moving on up by beethreekay, September 29
http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd230/beethreekay/29092007.jpg
Got my bankroll up to $500, so I've moved back up to 25NL and had my first session there, and even though it was a breakeven session, I'm pretty confident I can get back in my groove and do well here again.
I did the 10NL hands first, and I felt I didn't play well, but I ran good. It was appropriate that a win with QQ vs AA took me over the $500 mark.
The interesting hands:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/283572 - I was going to muck the turn, but decided that he could have a low pair (probably 66), and that my overcards were outs. Difficult call on the river, though
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/283577 - Cooler
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/283580 - I catch a slowplayed AA again
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/283583 - The villain in question was also Irish, and his question "an bhfuil dha $*banrion o ri agat" is Irish for "do you have two queens or kings?", so from there it was easy to put him on a J. Difficult to have called otherwise
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/283582 - And goodbye 10NL
I played better in the 25NL session, but ran a little bad, and lost 2BIs to bad play. But I think I can be quite profitable here.
The hands of note:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/283590 - Retarded play #1. One of my big leaks is that I always think people are playing back at me, and never have the goods. I put him on 88-99 or air, and got punished for my stupidity on the turn
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/283594 - Retarded play #2. This is probably one of the stupidest things I've ever done in poker. I put him on a draw.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/283592 - Suckout #1
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/283593 - Suckout #2
If I can knock out the occasional brain farts, I shouldn't have too much trouble winning here.

| | September summary! by Fayth, September 29
September has been pretty cool Best month ever! I'm posting it as a summary cuz i'm probably not gonna play tomorow or barely, and not much for the rest of the day because i have to attend a business seminar, and i'm also going to play a small tourney tonight live, 25$ buy in, gonna stake my friend for it, shud be fun.
I also staked 3 different people so they can get back into poker, and hopefully they're gonna go by the rules, this is definitely going to help them as they all had the same problem -> bad bankroll management. I'm looking forward for their success.
Oh i also bought a PSP yesterday with some RPG, i actually bought it cuz Final Fantasy Tactic: The Lion War is coming out on october 9th, this game is gonna be sooooooooooooo sick! It's basically a remake of the PS1 FFT game, with add ons, noticeably Balthier from FFXII :D
Here's the graph:
http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/7107/septgraphhp9.jpg
That along with ~6000$ rakeback, makes it a cool month!
Buhbye!

| | the better days by Svetoslav, September 29
So, 8-9 days ago i started playing again. Did some major changes in my whole game plan, deciding to play 1-4 tables and fully concentrate on them just to see if the higher winrate i expect would compensate for the less hands played. I think that`s what i needed since my game is much much better only for few days of maximum concentration in the game, the opponents, the table dynamics and stuff like that. Started @ 100nl and here`s my results for the 5 or 6 days i played there:
http://img174.imageshack.us/img174/4307/100nlstatsol1.jpg
So satisfied with my result i got back to 200nl and started pretty nice there too :
http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/9311/200nlstatslz0.jpg
Had some beats today which i`m not gonna talk about, the important thing is that i`m confident in my game once again and my results are good for now. I know that the sample is small ( only like 5k hands or smth ) but i fell much much better playing 500-1k hands a day thinking about every situation than auto-piloting 9 tables. And yeah i know my turn AF is too low, gonna fix that
So that is it for now guys , since i`m new to blogs i`m enthusiastic bout it and prolly gonna post my next one soon. Also i wanna thank [vital]Myth for telling me how to import images into the blog post . Here are the links to the jpgs if i messed it up and it didn`t actully worked as it should:

| | Starting a blog now, dunno why by Svetoslav, September 29
I wanted to start a blog in the past, but hade a very tough time with poker lately so i decided that starting it when im running terribly would be like bitching up or something. So i waited for better times Maybe having a blog would in some way help me stick to my plans or be more disciplined or something like that. Since almost nobody here in liquidpoker knows me i`m gonna say some words about my poker history to begin with. I play for like a year now. I`v been 9 tabling 6max nlhe all the way from 5nl up to 200nl, playing like 4k hands a day for the most part, and cashing out often, up to 60-70% of my entire bankroll sometimes. I think the things that i bought helped me take my downswings easier so i`d suggest to anyone coming up to withdraw sometimes and buy cool stuff . Anyways, two months ago i find myself playing 200nl w/ 60 buy ins and running hot all the time. I was using a very very conservative bankroll menagement so i was like "well i`m gonna stick to 200nl for few more days and then give a shot to 400nl". And the the big shit happened. I think yall know the feeling after running hot for a month. You feel invincible and give poker less and less concentration, cus u know no matter what happens ur winning as a mofo Or at least that`s the case with me. So i had a few days with terrible beats when i couldn`t win a hand. And that few days turned into a month withoud a winning session. At some point i said to myself "ok, i`m not a idiot, i`ll drop down to 100nl to win back some and gain the confidence in my game again". But I was loosing at 100nl all day every day too. I had no loss stop at that time and things got nasty. All the time i was thinking i`m playing very close to my A game which as u can guess wasn`t true at all. When i look trough my hands now i see that more than 50% of my losses are due to my major tilt which at that time i couldn`t realize. I lost more than 50% of my bankroll and while u feel nice bout it when u spend the money the feeling is terrible when u lose that much of ur brl So after loosing @ 100nl too i started realizing shit. Man i`m playing TERRIBLE TERRIBLE poker and didn`t even feeled when this shit started. So i decided to give myself 10 days brake and reconsidering my whole game. I think of continuing in another post since this one got pretty long Excuse me if my english is bad, i hope its at least undestandable. Also since this is my first blog ever it may be bad written, bad structured or borring. Hope that`s not the case I`ll use my blog to share how i`m running and what i`m thinking and shit like that. Stop for now.

| | The step up by Laech, September 29
Howdy LP
Well.... lets start from the beginning. I'm Silver)Z('s little brother, to prove it ummmm... We both have the same PS user pic and we didn't have any contact when choosing it. Ok so its not proof but who cares.
Anyway, I have been playing play money poker on PS for a decent amount of time now. I can't say I'd studied the game as well as I could have but I managed to learn enough to build up to 1 Mil. After Id gotten board with play money and wasted alot on poor moves and giving half of my play-bankroll to a down on luck and skill friend I decided it was time to hit my brother up for a donation to the real world of poker. (Cheers)
I've just been playing by the book for now. Only playing the nuts and all that, after getting off to a bad start with a series of bad beats I eventually turned my game around. Iv now managed to double my bros deposit and I'm looking at bring more money to the 1c/2c tables
*Game plan*
1)Continue on current game play, Only playing nuts. (Try not to get cocky and bully tables with small stack.)
2)When I get $60 in bankroll I'll begin bringing $3 to the table instead of $2. At $80 BR I'll bring $4 and at $100 I'll bring $5 (bet you didn't see that coming)
3)When I hit $200 BR I will make the move to 2c/4c. If I drop to $150 I'll move back down.
*Pipe Dreams*
1)I'm looking at getting into playing 7 card stud when I reach $120 BR.
2)Maybe enter in some SnG's when I get to $150
Well thats more than enough, All comments, criticisms, flames and advice appreciated.
