FTP Points for Sale and More by JYang, January 21

Hey guys,
if someone might be interested in some full tilt gear i have 210k full tilt points for sale. I think the FTP price is 0.006 per point, but i'm going to sell my points at 0.005 each. so if you see anything you like at http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/store.php

let me know. here's how i think the transaction will go. if you are a big name and reputable person on this site, let me know what you want to order, i'll complete the transaction and keep a reminder for myself and bother you for the payment in a 1-4 weeks (time it takes for you to receive product). so you will pay me via FTP/Stars after you recieve the product if you are reputable/big name.

for other users, i guess we have to go by trust basis or I can make an ebay listing and go from there. you can send me payment via stars/ftp and i'll order and forward you confirmation. if you decide to take the ebay route we'll do the standard ebay process but the points will be at 0.006 per.

On the other news, im thinking about getting a new PC just cuz i break the 10k$/month goal

im really thinking about ordering a gaming pc from ebay, probably have to compare deals with somewhere else, but really looking to get this one
http://cgi.ebay.com/Quad-Core-3-2ghz-...QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

basically an overclocked quadcore 6600 to 3.2 ghz
8800 gts g92
4gb good ram

totals to around $1700 since i have to pay shipping and probably asking them to install a legit copy of windows

well its a lot cheaper than the 8k desktop F4ZI has, but i think still mini baller ish.

YES YA'LL! GET AT ME by devddd, January 21

Hey guys

I havent posted in a while.
Although i have been playing a lot.

I recently moved up and played 100NL.

I have been playing probably the best i ever have online, but still have a lot of leaks, where I am frustrated and make a bad play. Don't get me wrong this hasnt happened many times! But i want to avoid it.

In the last 4 days i'm $1000US up and running/playing well.

100NL
KK - Here he must but me on a cont bet bluff? God knows why he fired the turn. I am not laying down KK here, to his representation of a set.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/hand/hand.php?hand=366777

AJ - Value bet. Should have pushed turn harder.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/hand/hand.php?hand=366780

KK beat by AK - http://www.liquidpoker.net/hand/hand.php?hand=366783

JT - marginal position the whole way. I always get tricked into calling short stacks. this hand pissed me off i should have gotten away, http://www.liquidpoker.net/hand/hand.php?hand=366785

Todays session stats:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/4375e97fc8f921dfac91a00597dfa8dd.jpg

If anyone can tell me how to make the graphs i'd be thankful.
Also i dont know if the above picture will work, they haven't been working for me.

200NL
I had shown this guy a few bluffs earlier. That is why i think i got paid here.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/hand/hand.php?hand=366786

AQ - I laughed and showed my dad this one!
http://www.liquidpoker.net/hand/hand.php?hand=366787

100NL

QQ - Good as gold. http://www.liquidpoker.net/hand/hand.php?hand=366788

AQ - Big loser. I should have shoved all in PF instead of 4x bet? Villan was very agg, knew he had low pkt. Unlucky flop.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/hand/hand.php?hand=366790

All in all, i think I still have to play a little tighter and limit my moves to pick up pots. I am losing a fair bit of money with marginal hands KQ AJ AQ etc. I really wanna work on this and play these hands in position/ suited looking to keep the pots small. I just looked at the hands i have lost the most money with in the last 4k hands, and $50 total here & there all add up...

Apart from that, i am going to try have a relaxed week at the tables - shorter sessions and wake up early and try enjoy friends company and get that balance back & see the sun. Not that i dont, but i need to MORE

I don't know what else to write, but i'd like feedback and advice from better players / and comments from anyone.
BLOGS DIE WITH NO RESPONSE FROM VIEWERS!!

Good luck dudes.
Devddddd

Switching over to 6 max NL from limit holdem. by TRACKDO1, January 21

Hi, im TRACKDO1, "Track" for short, and i'm new to LiquidPoker. I don't have a background as a gamer like a lot of you guys seem to be. I'm an old fart and Donkey Kong is the game of my generation. I came to this site to try to learn how to play (6 max) NLHE. I've trolled most of the sites over the past year and this seems to be the best of the best when it comes to HARD CORE NLHE 6 MAX. I landed here because you guys seem to be working twice as hard learning to be the best grinders period!

Im going to try to keep this blog updated with my progress as i start my (6 MAX) NLHE education.

Im a full ring limit grinder and intend to start my NL baby steps at (6 max) $25nl. $25nl may be a little bigger then i need to start, but that's where i'm making my stake.

I ended my thrid PokerStars session tonight a little sooner than i wanted. cold cards and dry flops were putting me on tilt, so i called it a night. I put in 2100 hands and in all of the hands, my biggest pot was $10.65 sick!

I got PokerTracker/PokerAce HUD and this stuff is way too cool. after 3700 hands my vp$ip is 19 and preflop agg is 4.5, i need to get my aggression factor way up closer to my vp$ip... i think?

3700 hands ($79.50) not a good start!

I'm ($79.50) in the red now after my first 3700 hands. I made a few bad calls and too many bad rivers to count.

Maybe it wont be long until i'm putting dents in Jonnycosmo's roll LoL!!

Wish me luck and say hi if you see me grinding $25 6max on Stars.

TRACKDO1

=( by WilsWils, January 20

After much analyzing i think my playstyle / mentality is just better suited for a FR player :/

i was beating 25FR for 6bb/100 over 60k hands , and 50FR for 5bb / 45k~ or so

i guess i enjoyed the "fun" of 6 max, but guess i just dont run good enough @ 6max , so i took a break and went back to FR

insta +5 BI day, so ridiculous what people stack off with , using what i learned at 6 max i was able to isolate / steal more effectively than i ever have w/o 6max experience, so i guess the 50k hands of swingy 6max helped me out somehow.

Anyway, back at 2k br

gl grinders

BR hit 4k by PokerDoc88, January 20

Yeah, played 1k session at 100nl today, up about 1.5 buyins which puts my br over 4k!!! I shouldn't be too proud of the wins though, they were both suck-outs. Not 'donkey' suckouts, but suckouts nonetheless (ie. I float and end up 2-outering with a low pp vs AA, where normally I would fold to a 2nd barrel).

The Path to Glory Preparation by GameOverNoob, January 20

Sunday January 20th 2008

UserNames: IntricateSin / GameOverNoob (PS)
MSN: m_morganstein@hotmail.com

I've decided to create a blog to track my ongoing poker career right from the start. Since you'll be reading lots more about me in the near future i'll give you a small update on my poker career so far.

I started playing live poker at the age of 15 at home games aroud where i live. I soon realised i wanted to experiance some real action and managed to get my way into a private 2/5nl cash game that runs downtown 3 nights a week when i was only 16. While i loved playing poker i realised that i could make more money running poker games in Montreal that playing since our casino did not have a poker room. I began making money running games and found myself gambling with my clients at the tables and donating tons of money. I clearly didn't learn my lesson very quickly since i continued to do this for the next 4-5 months until our club closed down. The club reopened soon afterwards and i was giving a job as a dealer at the new place. I continued to donk off more than i was making. I racked up a 12k debt very quickly decided i needed to start fresh as a pro. With no self control, my tilt was just doing too much damage and costing me too much money. I was pshycologically drained from losing so much and i just couldn't understand why i was running so bad. I tried changing my game, playing online, and even switching to different variations of the game. I soon realised that in order to be a success i would need major trianing. I began watching cardrunner videos and reading forums and just talking to online pro's that have shown great results. I came to notice that poker had greatly evolved online through the past couple of years and the game had changed.

Learning about ranges, proper aggression in tourneys and cash games, position and how to use background poker programs opened my eyes to how profitable this game really could be. I will continue to train until my game is sharp enough and im mentally stable to play.

I realised playing on my laptop at all hours of the night wasn't going to be a +EV move and my current lifestyle choices we're stopping my success. In order to be successful i needed a few things first.

A bankroll of 800$
1 or 2 20' Montitors with a proper desk and chair. (400$)
A dayjob
Routined playing schedule
Confidence

I soon began looking for a job so that i could start playing as soon as i felt ready.
With no proper education and no real job experiance i knew i would have to get a meanial day job that only payed about 10$/hr.

I got a stress free job very soon after at a childrens gym as an instructor.
I still need to work 135 hours until i have enough money to start which gives me enough time to work on my game.

Although i feel ready to play right away, I think some time off from playing while i save up some moeny will do me lots of good.

The path to glory begins here.

HELP! NEED ANSWER! by Svenman87, January 20

I plan on surprising my fiance with a trip to someplace...

Specifically someplace in the USA. Or if not TOO far away. I don't think I can make a trip to Europe or Asia... My trip to Cancun was easily one of the worst experiences in my life :[ even heavily medicated from an uber drug, still felt like shit.

Anyways :

Looking between...

Florida, Cali, and NYC. We'd go in the middle of March if that makes any difference.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks LP :D

I must stop tilting by BlizzY, January 20

Hi guys, this will be very quick because I just finished ~8 hour session and I can barely see the monitor. I managed to drop $2500 in the morning in about 500 hands and it was just pure monkey tilt. So I decided to win it back by hardcore grind and I succeeded despite Jokerstars trying to stop me
here is the graph

http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/2585/tiltqk8.jpg

I decided I would stop with hand 7000 no matter what because I was getting tired, (4.30 AM here) and after I checked sit out next blind on every table, Lee decided to give me present and gave me AA and set on 2 tables so I actually ended up $43

My dreams crushed and thrown away(Wine with bread) by JohnnyBologna, January 20

Decided to spend today playing sunday million/ other tourneys. Registered for about 10 different tournies that take long as shit to play and you have to be luckier than a luckbox on his lucky day to win. Things started off normal and I thought I had a chance to win a big prize than 1 hour goes by on a couple tournaments and I get it all in flipping and bust out of those. Eventually bust out of Sunday million somehow gg 200 bucks which I basically donated to some donkmonkey. I mean there were 7500 entrants in that stupid tourney. How the hell can anyone win that. And the Sunday 100k was even worse like 20000 monkeys in there.

Anyways Im like 1 tabling my last tourny for like the next 2 hours and decide to cut my losses not registering for any more tournies. My heart fills up with joy as I make it pretty deep in the last one. I was like chip leader with 25 people left, 6k being 1st prize. I was like FINALLY its my turn to win something. Get it all in pre with my AA and lose to KK more than half my stack to some guy with a lot of chips. Hmmmm. end up busting for like 300 bucks and become down only 400 dollars for the whole day. Yippy Kye Aye.

Whatever. Who needs dreams.

end complaining.

New to LP by mikeymoo, January 20

Hey guys, I'm new to LP. ^_^

Mikeymoo at TL. I'm not actually good at SC at all, I just like following the eSports scene.

I'm also underage, but my 18th is in 6 months, so I thought it was time to finally register here, as I've been lurking for about 6 months now. Just never had anything to say.

Just a few questions for those who have already climbed the micro limits:

About how many hands did it take, personally, for you to get from 5NL to 50NL?

My goal is to get a full-time job over the summer, and dedicate myself to maybe 5 hours a day on weekends and maybe 2 on weekdays. Using friends' accounts, I manage to 16-table 10NL; they let me cash if I profit, and I pay them in cash if I run bad.

I run at about 5bb/100 (is that the proper terminology?) at 10NL.

What then, is the point of me joining LP if I can't play for another 6 months?

I intend to study as much poker as I can, and gain all the information that I can so I can crush the lower limits, control my discipline (biggest problem atm), and eventually get to the point where poker can provide maybe 5k a year. (Tuition fees)

Hopefully I can get 10k hands in a week. Since my birthday is mid-July, is it reasonable to want to hit 50NL by September? (60k hands?) If not, how long will it take? I'm aware that none of you know how well (or badly) I play, and it's difficult to gauge, but all I can say is that I'm an avid game theorist with the drive to want to continually become better.

Thx for reading.

[x] Swongs by JonnyCosMo, January 20

Ok, after this blog entry I swear to god I will never use another lame 2+2 phrase to title my blog posts, but this is just too fitting...

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/Jan18thEV.jpg

This is my January so far. Look's pretty fun eh? Anyone like that +15k upswing in the middle? I liked it! First 10k hands of the month I ran like death of shit. Then the next 15k hands I ran like God. Then I hit another little slump towards the end. To be honest, the past couple days I've been sloppy and not playing my best game. Pretty disappointed in myself for that, but I'm definitely going to get more focused in this upcoming week. There is still over a week left in January so I hope I can rebound from this little downswing.

Pretty sweet swings for the most part. I love this game lol...
