I'm usually not the type to be complaining about bad beats... so I just won't. I got pretty much destroyed today and lost a quick $800 in less than 1000 hands. Fun fun fun...

First UB session

Finally got my money back yesterday night, at like 5am, after talking to some guy who reminded me of the creator of http://www.endofworld.net

Wee.

I then tried to deposit into UB but UB says I don't have that much money! So I look at my account and see that it's in EURO.

Google gogo, and I found a post indicating that you need to change to base currency dollar.. Fortunately it turns out I miss-read that post and that in my own stupidity I had failed to take into account the transaction fees.
Oops.

This led to me screwing myself out of like 50 deposit bonus dollars (maybe more, dunno) cause I deposited a smaller than maximum amount at first ;D

Anway, I decided I'd 1 table for a little bit, until I got used to the software.. I ran disgustingly well, so good in fact that I felt guilty and had to stop.

I actually thought he had a set and was considering folding right there after his first reraise but then I realized that this is NL25, vs a complete unknown whom I've only seen play for like 12-20 hands..

Meh.

I can't figure out if this was retarded on my part, or just standard.

I definitely wasn't paying enough attention tho, as at first I thought this was an unraised pot, and I didn't see why anyone would check raise a set in an unraised pot.

Anyway, I got 777 vs AQ top pair and he couldn't fold apparently, so that's another buyin, then I get 87 two pair vs the guy I sucked out on, who has KK and get all his chips.

He asked me 'did you get lucky again' when I check raise him, I say yes and he still pushes.

Oh well.

Any input on the hand I posted would be much appreciated, I felt kinda donkish after that hand (maybe I've played too much NL2/HU/very shorthanded, while waiting for my money to come back from neteller).

One argument for folding I guess could be that my first impression of the table was that it's pretty tight..

But then again, seeing how the guy in my 777 vs AQ hand played his AQ top pair for a full buyin.. I'm leaning towards this hand being pretty standard, even though I have trouble seeing what he could have except a set (I guess slowplayed KK, AA)

Also, if anyone plays NL25 on UB and feels like sharing the screen names of some ATMs (donkeys) or regulars feel free.

Opinions on the bet pot button would be appreciated as well, I've seen a few cardrunners videos and muddywater seems to use it religiously whereas green plastic stays away from it, but they play at such a completely different level that I'm not sure their reasons are applicable to me.

GPs reasoning was that if he uses the bet pot button for value he has to use it for bluffs, and then he'll be building big pots with nothing (or something like that).

Which I guess makes sense if you play pretty LAG like him (and like ever so many low stake fishes, I aspire to play that way eventually), whereas muddywater seems much more straight forward.

Strong starting hands

Okay, i made a nice session today, played real good and managed to make +3BI , lost all the profit on 3 major hands: 2xKK and AA. Is it ok to go broke here ? i would like some advices from you guys.

I dont know how or why I did it but I played 8k hands in 10hours in 2 sessions seperated by an hour...

how the hell did you play 19K in a day? you are a sick man, man.

took a break after that shitty downfall. I had some bad beats, but never got tilty... i did get tired tho and lost of my patience a bit, but I stopped mainly because I was getting sick... it was like 7 hours infront of computer...not use to that.

so 100nl so far:

on another note, I got my grades and my GPA is 3.00 for the first time in 5 years... thats right 5 years of university, but obviously im getting better.

OK, SO IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME AND I'M TRING TO MAKE A DECENT COMEBACK.......... I HAVE BEEN PLAYING FOR A MONTH OR SO JUST ABSOULTELY GETTIN KILLED/ROBBED..... I HAVE WATCHED SOME VIDEOS OFF OF POKERXFACTOR AND JONNY HAS COACHED ME A LITTLE BIT AND STAKED ME AS WELL.....THANK YOU COSMO..... SO I AM STARTING NOW TODAY ON MY QUEST TO BUILD A ROLL.... SO AS OF TUESDAY I HOSTED A GAME WITH MANGO AND LYRIC....FUN .25/.50 CASH GAME $50 BUY IN WITH RELOADS WHENEVER.....IT WAS INTERESTING TO SAY THE LEAST.... I AM NOT QUITE USED TO THE AGGRESSION BUT I LIKE PLAYING WITH THEM...THEY ARE BETTER THAN I SO I CAN LEARN AND GET BETTER MAYBE LOSE SOME CASH BUT MY THEORY "YA GOTTA LOSE TO WIN"..... SO IT WAS FUN I CAME UP A LITTLE BIT... GOT VERY LUCKY AT THE END OF THE NIGHT TO CHOP A POT WITH LYRIC. BUT I PLAYED WELL BESIDES THAT I THINK. WE'LL SEE HOW I DO SUNDAY.

There were 46 entrants with a $10 buy in. I got off to a great start! Mr. JonnyCosMo a.k.a. Mr. Moneybags tourney killer and I were pretty even through the whole tourney. We both made the final table which isnt too uncommon, well wasn't back in bugsysclub days. (fuck that site btw.) anyways I got 3rd which was nice compared to the previous times I have played and have gotten poopy luck bad beats. +55

Ok, so Here we go im playin 2 $4 180 man sits on stars, On my first table I have complete donks and I know it. I get AA raise 4x the BB I get 2 callers. Flop J77 I lead out and bet half the pot, One call turn comes a 9 I check....dude thinks for a min than bets out, I reraise all in he called my pre flop raise and bet on the flop with 8 10? wow!!!! im out of the 1st one. 2nd one I played very well, I got 10th final tbl bubble....just my luck....oh well....so all in all I think I played very well in both.

last week in the home games

I did very well compared to previous weeks of just breaking even. On Sunday we played at my house and I played very solid. I got quad 10's but that was about it. Than Wed we played at Jeffs and I brought my co-worker and it was the most interesting night thus far....Everything was happening backwards!!! Jeff was winning....ya......I paid Erin off and her hands held up....ya....All in all I mixed it up a lot on Wed. And played pretty well. My house +55 Jeffs house +60 not a bad week for home games. +115

Yesterday on Stars....

I played tyler heads up twice +10 And two heads up matchs as well on stars and broke even, very bad beat on the loss.
The first match the moron just kept pushin all in.....So naturally I just muck til I pick up a hand....So I get QQ I limp and he pushes I call he has 8 2....hahaha I have like $2350 he has 150 I get QQ again next hand and win. The loss was I had K8 flop comes 788 I lead he calls, turn comes 10 I lead he calls river 6 he had A9. sooooo bad!!!!!! whatever thats poker. +15

6max is fun

I just tried 6max and i can say i love it, i'll focus more on that from now, right now im multi-tabling NL10. First session up +2,5 BI in like 45 mn. Players on pokerstars are much more ez to play than PP, can't say much for the moment since i only spent 45 mn... i'll grind the tables there for the rest of the month and put aside my world class donkament career.

I saw a vid where a guy could see what cards his opponents folded and mucked, is that poker_hud ? any help welcome.

I went back to work 1 week ago now and all i can say is: it sucks hairy balls. I hope i'll be good enough at poker to make it a living in a couple of years, whatever at least i'll try hard. here are a couple hands for the session today:

Memento = Wow

Ok so I watched Memento last night and wow was that a total mind fuck. The movie was put together really well for being totally backwards. Yeah, the movie is basically played with the ending in the opening scene. Weird huh?
