Restart
NeillyJQ, Aug 01 2007
I spent the last two weeks collecting my mind and getting ready to start playing again, and feel like I'm ready to give it another go, with proper BR management and an increased focus due to stress reduction.
I'm moving into a new house now, and will start dealing poker on the side at a local casino as well.
I left myself $25 when I stopped playing about a month ago.
After a couple two hr sessions on NL2, I'm now rolled for NL5, and will be working my way up the limits slowly, until I hit NL50 where I plan to stay and play for atleast a few months, maybe more.
Feeling better than ever,
Ryan (DReaMe)

End of July
TianYuan, Jul 31 2007

Sooooo, it ended alright after yesterday's downswing (I started off making 500$ in an hour so that's why the fall is so huuuuge) I managed to recover today.
Played.. hm. Better, had some luck (and some bad luck). I played a little bit looser/less scared during my second session today, made a few stupid mistakes because of it probably.
Anyway, nice that I was able to salvage July at least somewhat (well the graph is july+1 hour of august).
Maybe I'll post some hands later, or you can just check the mass hands I posted.
4k hand session
CrownRoyal, Jul 30 2007
Just logged a really strenuous 4k hand session at .02/.05 (GAY)
I'm turning a new leaf in poker, I'm going to start trying to play 2k+ hands a day. I'm tired of bouncing between nl5 and nl50 and everything else, I have to pay some bills and then I'm not going to cash out anymore for a while, at least not until i have a 1500 roll.
I'm pretty much immune to tilt, I'm not really disciplined though and considering i've cashed out over 2.5k this summer and i'm playing NL5 right now I'm pretty pissed.
So here's to a new direction in poker
Starting BR today: $110
Finishing BR: 164.37
I was up to about 175 3k hands in, but the last 1k hands I was pretty card dead.
I don't have PT but I think that's a decent winrate.
plz comment on a couple of these if you dont mind

I played for about 1500 hands, thought I'd be down a lot after losing like a million motherfucking flips, but was only down 1.4k. Played 400~ more hands to get back to +900 and called it quits. Some pissoff hands:
Lost a buyin AK vs QQ bvb
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/241414 of course I lose this, don't think I like flatting this flop either.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/241415 I either push this turn or check turn and push river, and considering he has little to no experience with me, pushing turn is probably more likely to get called than check turn push river.
As for interesting hands:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/241416 Ugh, I really have no fucking idea about this one. Really no idea. I thought that if i potted the river, redargoe would be more likely to shove a hand like QQ or JJ trying to push me off twopair or just TP, but obviously KK/TT and 98 are very possible. I dunno, he could also have lower sets but that's so fishy. I don't really know how often he's bluffing here but the pot really isn't that big and he must know that there's not a lot that he can represent. I dunno, I guess I'm okay with the call but I wouldn't be surprised if fold is a little better.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/241418 This hand is a really interesting one, I'll probably go ahead and post a thread about this one.
Oh yeah, this one was moderately amusing: http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/241420
Not sure if he was bluffing or value betting.
+900 in 1735 hands, I'll take it.
Just shoot me.
TianYuan, Jul 29 2007

Hands played like a complete idiot:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/240943 - SHOOT ME.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/240875 - god knows wtf I was doing
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/240852 - meant to type 18, instead I type 118. Fuck.
Ridiculous beats:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/240932
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/240826 - I never ever slowplay sets OOP and the one time I do, I get fucked. Not that it would have mattered, money is going in on the turn anyway.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/240820 - ace high wins 370bb pot -_- God, all those outs and not one could hit.
Standard:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/240933
Dunno:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/240769 second time in a row he 3bet my button raise.
In conclusion: fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuccccccccccccck
Too depressed to add more hands right now -.- Spent 3 hours winning the blinds when I had the nust and getting mincheckraised when I had air. Then boooooooom, lose 500$ more.
Fuck.
lol discipline yo
Moloch, Jul 29 2007
Right, so I was planning to start my foray tomorrow and take a day off today, but I was too bored so I decided to throw in a few hands since it's Sunday and lots of 5/10 games going right now.
+2.3k in 332 hands, now I'll take the day off. Good discipline.
Only one interesting hand, really:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/hand/hand.php?hand=240894
The villian in this hand is 26/15/2.16. I only played with him a few times a while ago on 3/6 when he would sit alone on FR tables and I'd play him heads up. My feel for him was that he was not so much nitty as just kind of passive and very uncreative, almost to a donkish extent. However he's playing 5/10 6-max now so it'd probably be safe to assume that he improved some; during the hand I wasn't thinking too much, but after the hand it occurred to me that maybe it would have been better to shove the turn rather than flatcall, since I honestly had no idea if he shoved the river whether or not I'd call. I mean he obviously shoves if he has AT, but apparently he's not shoving QT so after having seen this hand I should fold to a river shove in this situation next time, but obviously I didn't know he'd c/f the river with QT at the time. Ace is a bad turn card to bluff on but I'm not sure that he knows that. Maybe I should've just shoved the turn and try to get a call out of JT/QJ rather than call him down and hope he fires the rest of his money on a bluff, just seems like I have too many retarded ass river decisions. I mean, if he's smart he'll call a turn shove with JT/QJ fairly often since most of the time my line is a bluff if I shove the turn, but I have no idea whether or not he'll be thinking on that level. I dunno. Guess I shoulda just 3-bet/call the flop and make the entire hand easier.
Anyway yeah, gonna chill and start back up tomorrow.
Bloggity blog blog
Moloch, Jul 29 2007

Well, as you might guess, this is a graph of my last 5 days – two 15+ buyin downswings, about 95% at 3/6. I’ve had isolated bad days before, but this qualifies as my second worst bad streak ever, and the worst one nearly broke me mentally. So, I figured I might as well do all I can for turning a bad thing into a positive mindset, so I’m going to convert this shitty streak into a good excuse for moving up to 5/10 and trying to take another shot at becoming a regular and maybe make some money if the planets are properly aligned. I’ll post some more shit later, but this blog is going to be completely about poker mostly for the sake of me keeping my head on straight, keeping focused, not getting unnecessarily depressed about this shit, and venting bad luck so that I can spare my friends and acquaintances. I’ll post graphs/PT shots whenever I feel like it and also li<x>nk to some hands that were interesting or worthy of discussion/justification.
I know it’s a pretty fagass thing to start a blog, but I’m running like shit and I want my mentality about poker to be confined to poker and not leak out into the rest of my life and depress me. Plus I never claimed not to be a fag so whatever. If I become comfortable again at what I’m doing, I’ll stop posting in this, but until then I’ll try to keep all of my poker-related frustrations in here so that nobody else is bothered and I can keep my emotional slate clean.

I've got to quit
CrownRoyal, Jul 28 2007
Cashing out and being broke.
It's a vicious cycle, I cash out soooooo much money, hit a bad streak and fall down to $200 or less, grind up to 1k in less than a week and I fall down again.
It's killing me that I'm not at higher stakes yet, I can crush lowstakes hardcore I should give a 5bb/100 shot at higher stakes and quit playing SNG/MTT because they are fucking gay.

Lot of poker
Daut, Jul 25 2007
I've played about 5-6k hands the past 2 days.
Yesterday i played about 2k hands at 3/6 and finished up about 9 buyins. I didnt feel like i was playing my best but I ran really well and everything went my way.
Today i played 2 sessions, one at 10/20 on ftp for about 1500 hands and one at 3/6 6max on stars for about 1500 hands. I lost about 7k on ftp and another 2k on stars for a -9k day. I feel like I played really poorly in a few hands but overall decent because I put my opponents in a lot of tricky spots and ran a few really big bluffs successfully.
I was experimenting with a lot of deepstacked situations when my opponents and I were 200bb+ deep against each other. I was calling some 4bets in positon with speculative holdings, and calling a lot in position then raising a lot of scary flops and potting the turn. Most of it worked out pretty well, but lost a 2300 pot at 3/6 when i called a 4bet from the cleaner with KTdd and flopped a flush draw and shoved over his cbet and was snap called by AA on an 872 2 diamond flop. I sort of like the play though because he is almost certainly folding QQ and KK and probably has AK or air a decent amount of the time.
im going to take a break for a while and will play a long session later tonight wherever the games look the best.

Picking up bank tellers
Daut, Jul 24 2007
So I went to the bank with the money I made from mig the other day. I was carrying about 255k in cash to deposit.
The teller ran the money through one of those little bill counters and it only took about 10 minutes to get all of it counted and wrapped in 10k markers. Before I could leave she had to fill out some info on me. Here is what transpired:

As for poker, I've been running really well lately. I'm on about a 70k upswing at 10/20 and 25/50 the past 2-3 weeks, and feel I can play better than I have been. I'm probably going to play a lot in the upcoming weeks at all levels between 3/6 and 25/50 and really grind hard.
