Welp, i was lazy as shit this month, only logged like 31k hands @ nl100, and 10k hands 2 nl200 =/

but its fine, im totally learning who to avoid and who not to avoid. There are some key diffs at 1/2 that i def need to change up the way i play against, and i probably sat at pretty bad tables. (tables with xBerlinsXbestx and some winning 2/4 regs on my direct left 6/8 tables prolly wasnt the most +ev move), but i wanted to improve as fast as possible. Right now i feel like i'd be a very marginal 1/2 winner, but i'm proving pretty fast and shouldnt be doing alright next month.

been playing almost no volume of hands due to laziness, i think ive booked only about like 20k hands this month, what an epic fail. Sickness + bad sleep has been ass fucking me(ironic that they go hand in hand, i need better sleep to recover, but i cant because im sick) and my school has been sucking dick too. I really really need to get better soon so i can pull myself out of this hole.

super disappoint with the direction my work ethic for pokers and school has gone this last week T.T


I've taken 3 shots at nl200 so far, 2000 hands each time.

First time +1.5 BI
2nd time +1.5 BI
3rd time -3.5 BI or so.

NL200 is tougher than nl100 but i think it's super beatable. People over think situations and way to play their hands and i'm pretty sure most regs would level themselves playing in certain spots due to FPS. This is something i'm really, really trying to avoid... I'll be taking another shot at nl200 when my BR hits 10k. Im' hoping to put in like a 10k hand shot with a 8 BI stoploss or something.

As far as coaching has gone, i've taken a few NL50 FR students who have all improved a shittone, it's amazing how just teaching them to play a solid, tag game (mixed in with good use of image for some fun steals) can crush nl25-50 so badly -_-;; I think one of the dudes i've been coaching went from losing @ nl25 to crushing nl50 FR on ftp for something neato like 6-8 Big bets an hour, which is quite an improvement from where he was before.

if any of u saucy lads are familiar with TF2, you guys are familiar with the hat drop system.

Every 4 hours, and 17 minutes of play, you are given a 3.5% chance of obtaining a hat. hats are purely cosmetic but look fucking awesome ROFL.

Now for all you math nerds, you guys realize just how low a chance of getting a hat is. Some people play for hours and hours on end, or idle in dormant servers for the 3.5% chance every 4 hrs and 17 min.

I found 3 hats in one week , I DONT KNOW THE MATH BUT SOMEONE CALCULATE IT.

oh and i made like 8 bi today, ship that

school is good, not as hard as i thought it would be. just need to focus and grind it out.

Welps, decided to take a couple day break off online poker (had a 10k hand downswing where i lost about 1k~ , mainly a mix of losing a few big 400bb flips and some at 1/2), and spent the time just coaching a few NL50 regs. Helps my game out and it's nice to help out people as well.

I was told by a friend how soft the games were at Enoch River cree, a slightly out of town casino that is obv run on a reserve. the casino predominantly runs 5/10 mixed , 2/5 HE and 1/2 HE capped games and the play is super horrendous, moreso than the other casinos around edmonton. (there are like 10-15 casinos in my city, it's pretty sick........compare it like this - edmonton is a city of 1 million people. the entire PROVINCE of ontario, has like 2 casinos, it's pretty hiarious)

Anyhoo, being the fact that i hadn't played live poker in a long long LONG time, i figured now would be the best time to take a shot at it since being table captain is nice.

Initially, i had been planning to bring 1k with me and sit in the 2/5 HE game, but apparently i am a vagina and decided to be social for the night and just chillax and mess around at the 1/2. I grabbed 500 hundo from my piggy bank, stuffed it in my pocket and got in the car. 40 minutes later, i was praying to the poker gods to run hot as shit tonight and crush everyone. On the way there, my buddy was telling me how he was down to 30 bucks at the casino and was able to run it up to 950, so sick / luck sack.

We get on the list and its only a 3 minute wait because of the shit tonne of callins (lazy poker players never coming on time). I get seated and opt not to buy the button (i hate playing while im de-racking my chips) and decide to wait a couple hands for the button to pass me. I look around at the table and quickly make a mental note of everyone.

Seat 1: me - asian dude with an ipod. OMG INTERNET FAG
seat 2: nitty nice churchy dad
seat 3: stupid asian fob with his poor gf watching him play , WHY WOULD U DO THIS
seat 4: stnd nitty old white guy
seat 5: stnd really creepy quiet scrawny white guy who is either a.) drunk out of his mind b.) on the tail end of a long ass session c.) is just a creepo psycopath
seat 6: douchey looking white dude (unbuttoned dress shirt, but it was popped, had beer stains on his shirt, fucking drool on the side of his mouth wtf?)

seat 8: some skater scrub who was with his other scrubby friend in seat 9 - there will be good stories to come with him later
seat 9: idiot wigger, this guy was dressed in your typical oversized bucket hat, baggy jeans / shirts , and some lame jewelery

anyway, i decide from the get go that i wanted to set up a retarded image so i could get paid later when i get tired and dont have the mental capacity to think. my theory was if i spend all my energy now building image, i can just autopilot to the nuts later when im in "play poker while looking at the tv in the room" mode.

Anyway, first hand in im dealt K10cc in the cutoff. It's folded to me and i bomb to 15. i grab the blinds.

2nd hand, im dealt j10 in the HJ. everyone folds to the wigger, who limps in for 2 bucks. I make a standard bomb to 15$ and it's folded to the bb who stares at me, shuffles a bit, and minraises to 30. wigger instamucks and me, being insanely curious, flat >_>

Turn is a 3c, he makes a motion towards his chips, makes a clickign sound with his mouth and checks again. I'm going WTF in my head right now but decided to check behind with what i now believe are 2 live cards + a gutter. I just really wanted a showdown to see wtf he was popping me with.

River is a lame 2, and he again makes a motion towards his chips. He eyes my stack, then his, and checks. I sigh and check it back, and say "A high is good sir, i am bad"

a few mins later i'm dealt AQss, i bomb it to 15, douchey white dude limpraises me to 40. I eye his stack and see he's only got about 100 left, and he just didnt seem all that strong with the way he played it preflop, his body gesture and just the way he was handling it made it look more like he had a decent mid strength hand that he was playing terribly. i made a mental note that he was probably drunk as well, and this being a factor in my decision, i 4b his ass all in.

"eughehhehehehehe i hope we're racing" at which point i said uhhh you have 10's or something?

i bink an ace on the flop and he leaves. my stack is at like 300something.

a little while later, everyone folds to the wigger who limps sb. i look down at 73o say mentally flip him off and go HEY NO LIMPING MY BLIND and bomb it to 2+15 = 17 dorras. He instacalls with a weird smirk on his face.

flop 446cc, oh snap thats like the nuts for my hand He leads 10$ in. I realize that this isnt the kind of texture i can get the wigger to fold any pocket pair or high card of any sort, so i opt to float and bluff straight / flush / broadway cards. OH MY GOD 2ND LEVEL THINKING WHAT IS THIS

turn is a 7c, and now he bets 25. I flat again.

river is a Jo , and he bets 40. I lol inside at the reaction he's going to have when i call. His line is retarded and looks insanely bluffy, so i looked him up. He shakes his head and the dealer goes "he shows...KQ-high......big blind shows....73....pair of sevens...(voice trails off awkwardly as even he goes wtf)" i giggle a little and watch the wigger have a disgusted "omg this asian guy plays horrible" look on his face.

VERY NEXT hand, i get AK in the sb. it all folds again to the wigger who raises to 5 OTB. I quietly roffle my waffles and bomb it to 20. he instaflats.

I think in my head how nice it would be to bink and stack him. I have about 400~ or so at this pt, give or take 10 or 20 bucks. I cover him by alot, he's only got about 100~ i estimate. K410 rainbow, zing. I check, he overbet shoves, i snap obv, and he shows 74o. River 4, fk D:

wigger fist pumps and loudly tells the table "I HAD A FEELING ID GET HIM WITH THIS HAND".

We end up getting in a few more pots where he limp calls almost any amount i bomb preflop with. At this point i am in complete control of the table and have been raising every 2nd to 3rd hand and everyone folds, or just dumps it to my cbets. My stack yoyo's between 250-350 the entire time as im busy setting up image and i had been caught once double barreling w/ air.

Anyway, i get AK in the HJ. 3 limpers to me, and i bomb it to 20. Everyone folds except for, you guessed it, wigger boy who insta flats. Flop Kc8c2d , he checks quickly, i think for a second and overbet shove. (he has about 100 left), he INSTA snaps with A10cc, like i mean INSTANTLY-FIST-PUMP-OMG-DA NUTZZZZZZZZ. his face drops when i show him that i binked a king (guess he thoguth i had air), i fade the clubs and stack his ass. he leaves to reload.

at this point it gets kind of fuzzy, as far as stack sizes go. but i stop getting into spots with him because apparently he "just cant hit anything" tonight (YOUVE FORGOTTEN ABOUT THE 74o HAND ALREADY WTF?)

10-15 mins later or so, with my aggressive / speweish image solidified, i get dealt AKhh UTG (LOL CARD RACK). i bomb it to a stnd 7.5x bb raise, and the fob on my left instantly flats. everyone folds and it's hu to a 446 one heart flop. I cbet 25 and he thinks for a second and 3bets my ass to 60. I think for a moment.. i wasn't sure what kind of player he was and if he was just raising to see where his 22-88 was at, or if he was just raising me with air because he thought i was FOS. stack sizes were about even, and we were about 180bb deep iirc...

with backdoor hearts and straight draws, and what i felt were 2 live overs, i flatted. Turn was a black 7 and i check folded to a 90$ bet. stupid fob starts whispering something in mandarin to his gf , fml

a little bit later, i raise 109hh EPish, and the douchey white guy who had been eyeing me the past 10 minutes with some sort of menacing glare and complaining something about "raising too much" flats my 15 raise. It's HU again, which was a common occurence at this table. maybe they were gunning for me, or people just didnt like playing multiway or whatever.

board comes 10c6c4x i cbet 25 he flats quickly.

turn 7c ...ewwww card, i check and before i even finish checking he slides a little less than half his stack in. This throws me off a bit (i cover him by about 40-50bb more or so), as i expect him to hollywood with a flush or something. but he showed SO much strength that i felt something fishy was going on in this hand. He sat in his seat with a very confident look on his face. I tank for a lil, come to the conclusion that he's just making a move with an AcX type hand, or some weird 78 hand, and decide to turn my TP into a bluff and shove over him. He instaslides in his stack with JJ. no miracle on the river and i'm chopped down to 120. I reload to 200 and continue on.

meanwhile, direleif gets stacked by teh asian fob when they both get it in on Q24hh board, fob has KQ and he has AK, running hearts for the KQ stacks the AK..ewwww

i raise A9o in the CO a little bit later after i've stopped getting respect. The creepy gangly guy limp calls me from EP and it's hu , once again to a 936 rainbow flop. I cbet 25 and he daintly throws in the chips.

Turn is a Q and i bomb 60. he quickly but quietly calls. fk.

River is a 10 and he slowly , and systematically counts out 100 bucks and puts it in. thoughts of shoving over him spring forth in my mind but i stop it and dump the hand. i cant believe i thoguth he was double oop- floating me..good thing i didnt act on it


i reload once more, but run ice cold and being dealt continuous off suit 4-5 gapper for an hour. at this point im pretty exhausted and decide to straddle. 3 callers and i look down at KJo. I raise to 20 and get 2 callers. flop is JJ6, wheeeee. i bet 30 and churchy old man on my left flats, and douchey guy's friend flats.

8 on turn, i check with plans to get it in. church guy checks, and douchey dude's friend bets 30. i flat, putting him on a weak PP like 77-44 trying to buy the pot. at this pt in the hand i figure he knows im aggro enough to be betting with air on this flop, as i had been raising every hand ive straddled. nitty church man raises to 90...rut roh. He insta folds and i think for a while trying to put him on a range. at this point it's basically 66/88/QJ/J10/MAAAAAAAAAAYBE QQ/KK? he had open limped AKss before so it wouldnt be TOTALLY out of line for him to attempt to limp 3b monsters from early. anyway i decided to flat because boating up wud be pretty cool and i was pretty tired at this point. river is a 3 and he bets 10bucks, rofl, i had like 50 bucks left. anyway i call and he has 66

anyway live poker is fun, but i have a bad habit of playing great then spewing my balls off later when i outlevel myself. fml.

next time im going ima take a shot at 2/5





as for as internet pokers go, i think im up like 6-700..but ive only played like 17k hands this month so far. so fkn lazy with school and stuff , and ive been sick a tonne. Hopefully i can get some graphs up in hurrr soon.

Blegh, August was lame. Quick recap.

Started off the month strong grinding hard and doing well. I had just finished coaching so my confidence was at an all time high and i was having np exploiting the regs who play bad post flop, and the regs who play bad preflop. Then i hit a few huge downswing days, one -5bi, one 6-7BI and one -9~ BI or so. It was just tired/moody + run bad + play bad.

Then i grinded through that (albeit grudgingly) and then hit another snag for a small 5k hand sample where i didnt quite hold in all in pots that well and ran about 7 BI below ev. Again, this was just standard variance and i grinded through that as well.

I played nowhere near the amount of volume i should have this summer, i had made a plan to myself to basically be semi-proish for 4 months but i just never committed the time to play more than 2-4 hrs a day. It was also compounded by the fact i'd rather go out and hang with friends, or i'd just be like eh whatever and not play poker if i didn't feel like it.

My school schedule is pretty chill for september, but i'm aiming for straight A's this year so poker time will have to be reschedule. I can definetly fit in poker + school + life, as long as i balance..this is what i've learned over the past 4 months. You must must must MUST make sure you, yourself are in good mental and physical shape. Once you are, everything else just falls into place because you're not sleeping in, feeling groggy, then having to jam in a poker session when you feel like shit.

Anyway..

August:

Profits: +1700 @ nl100 over 60k hands
+256 T$ after owning some FTP pro in a sng thing. Her name was S.gremnakova or whatever and she was a big fan of overbet shoving preflop everytime she had AJ+. Eventually i minraised her button @ 100/200 (i think), and after folding 5 times in a row she finally defended. flop 452 rainbow, she checks, i bet 1/2 pot, she shoves, i snap with AA she has Q8o? lolol

Really disappointed because i could have made far more =[ , honestly there was no reason for me to not have a minimum +30 BI month, what with coaching and all...i was my own worst enemy really, and didnt put in the hands because i slept in so much + ran bad and didnt want to play. I need to focus less on results and just focus on getting better - the money will come naturally.

OH WELL, you live and you learn.

Coaching finished and i'm alot more confident in my play now...putting in alot more hands this month compared to the shitfest that was july.

coach helped point out some HUUUUGE leaks that i didnt know were apparent, and now its just a matter of applying them and putting in the hands to crush the stake.

As a whole, i'm comfortably beating nl100, but am not crushing it, so i wont be moving up until im beating it for at least 4-5ptbb.
(just need to hold in 400bb pots vs whales and my graph would be alot sexier looking)

anyway heres the mid month graph. all those big dips are from losing huge pots when playing on the deep tables vs humoungos spewtard whales but im still up soo.. (oh, took a small shot at nl200 too that made a little bit less than a bi)




made about 490~ or so in RB so far.

still gunning for a big month.

Whiffed on almost all my goals except the RL goals. Had a pretty sick NL100 run and i developed some leaks due to the sudden lack of confidence. Hired a coach for 150/hr whose way of looking at FR makes it look hilariously simple. My game has changed a tonne and i feel alot more confident and just know what to do in spots again.

Anyway:

solid winning 1-2 reg during school term.
