Leggo best in the market?
  Kapol, Jun 26 2009

(on the market, I think... w/e)

Hey guise, what's the best coaching site at this time in your opinion? My holidays are starting and I'd like to watch some poker videos.
Appreciate any input.

In need of a coach
  Kapol, Jan 14 2009

I've been struggling to beat NL200 for a long time now. I'm too lazy to watch any training videos and I don't gain much from reading advices in the hands section. I'm a person who gets bored pretty quickly playing ABC poker, so usually I play my A-game for 2-3 weeks, win some cash and then, all of a sudden, I start feeling extremely unmotivated, which leads to slacking off and playing bad for a period of 1-3 months.
But it's time for a fucking change. I really feel I need to improve my poker skills to find the joy of game again and finally grind my BR up to a decent amount. I've done some coaching with Gawdawaful in April or May last year and back then it was a groundbreaking move for me. I started constantly winning at NL100 and even had a great month at NL200. It all vanished afterwards, starting in June.

So I'm looking for someone to coach me at NL100/NL200 6-max games on Stars. Donno for how long, but I'd prefer a long-term deal. I'm willing to pay up to $200/h. If you're interested, please PM me. Any recommendations from players that have been coached are greatly appreciated.

I have thought it over many times in the last couple of weeks and I'm certain about my decision.

Cheers.

Random stuff
  Kapol, Sep 02 2008

NL200 HU still going extremely g00t.

Non-poker wise, I've been to Gdansk a few days ago in order to participate in a national pool billiards tournament. Everything went as planned, I finished 2nd out of five players in my group and I advanced to the next stage, where I lost 3:6 to a better player. I still practice a ton, so I'm calm about my results in the future. The plan is to be in the top 32 by the end of next year. So far I'm in 83rd place. Long way to go, but it's definitely doable.

On another note, I decided to watch all movies I haven't seen, that were nominated for the most prestigious Oscar starting with the 1990 Academy Awards. So far I made it to 1995. If anyone feels like watching some good cinema, I'd like to recommend a few titles, which are my favorites thus far (I'm not mentioning the universally known movies, like Shawshank):
Field of Dreams
Driving Miss Daisy
Awakenings
Goodfellas
Beauty and the Beast
Unforgiven
Scent of a Woman
A Few Good Men
In the Name of the Father
Schindler's List

Also, I downloaded TOCA Race Driver 3 :D. Gonna probably spend a shitload of time playing it in the nearest future . Wanted to play Race Driver: GRID, but I had problems with steering and I couldn't fix it T_T.

Damn, it feels good
  Kapol, Jul 31 2008

Hey there, boys and Yugless.

Haven't updated for some time, basically because nothing interesting has happened. I have had GREAT problems with motivation regarding poker since the end of May, which resulted in breaking even in June and losing $1.5k in July (mostly NL200 6-max).

Since yesterday it's been a bit different. Firstly, Python817 encouraged me to play a session at NL400, because "it's not that tough". Being completely bored and, to be honest, somewhat desperate, I decided to give it a try. I was up $1900 at one point while 6-tabling, but then everything went straight to hell and I cashed only $500. Just after finishing the session I recalled that in the end of April I had a similar problem. Back then I played some NL100 HU, won a nice amount in a span of two/three days and after that my confidence boosted and I began playing a lot again (and, most importantly, solidly). So that's what I did again (this time a level higher) and I'm proud to say it worked.
There is also a drawback to this story. I am a bit of a fish at 1-on-1 games, I know I didn't play very well and I made a lot of very terrible calls and stuff, but I happened to get lucky a couple of times. It could've easily gone the other way and I could've ended up losing a shitload of money.

Well, at least today I played almost 4k hands at NL200 6-max and I feel that I played my A-game most of the time .

I sincerely hope that August will finally be a good month.

Here are the amazing last 2 days (I'm up $2500 in July and I have the $1500 yet to clear, yay).

My laptop died :(
  Kapol, Jun 30 2008

I had this Siemens-Fujitsu junk and it burned after 2 years of using. So now I'm getting myself a Toshiba. It's more expensive, but I'm pretty sure it'll last a lot longer.
Here are the details:

Processor: Intel Core2Duo T7500 ~2.2GHz
Hard Drive: 200GB SATA
RAM: 4096MB DDR2
Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD2600 ~512MB memory
Operating system: Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit

From what I've heard all of the newest games work great on max details, so I'm looking forward to spending a couple of hours gaming in the next few months.

Price: ~1460USD (it's probably a lot cheaper in the USA :/)

It should arrive in 2 days from now.

Moving down for a while
  Kapol, Jun 20 2008

The downswing that struck me lately made me play bad and unmotivated me. I think I'm gonna play NL100 for a while to regain confidence (hopefully I'll be a successful move). Donno how much I'm gonna play there, most likely till I win $2k or so, which might take a little while, given how good I run and play ATM :/.
I know playing NL200 is more profitable and I am pretty confident that I am a winning player there (a marginal one, but still), but I just don't feel like playing these stakes now, so I don't see any reason to keep struggling.
