I had this Siemens-Fujitsu junk and it burned after 2 years of using. So now I'm getting myself a Toshiba. It's more expensive, but I'm pretty sure it'll last a lot longer.
Here are the details:
Processor: Intel Core2Duo T7500 ~2.2GHz
Hard Drive: 200GB SATA
RAM: 4096MB DDR2
Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD2600 ~512MB memory
Operating system: Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit
From what I've heard all of the newest games work great on max details, so I'm looking forward to spending a couple of hours gaming in the next few months.
Price: ~1460USD (it's probably a lot cheaper in the USA :/)
It should arrive in 2 days from now.

Got a Toshiba sat for 2 years now and it's incredibly stable and tough (i punched it once on a 2 outter when i was a tilting monkey). Only weakness is that battery that doesn t last long and die fast. |

Odds are exactly 50%, either happens or it doesnt | |

Laptops don't last that long in general. They have lots of problems because of small parts and because they are built in such a combined space that the heat they generate often degrades their quality after a couple of years. Far better to invest in a very good desktop with an appropriate cooling system and just have a laptop that does what you need it to do rather than a high-end one. |
